Some of the greens are disgraceful. Some of the T boxes are in such bad shape that you have to tee the ball up even on par 3's. It could be a nice course but unfortunately it seems it's way under staffed for one of the more expensive courses in the area. I won't be back.
Honest review from 10/3/25 round
Everywhere, I mean everywhere in ocean city has switched to flex on demand pricing. We were trying to play on a nice friday and average rates at every course was over 140 dollars. We used to always play eagle landing and it was 160 bucks. Out of our comfort
We hadnt played ocean resorts in 25 years and read the reviews. For the price of 45 bucks we took the risk knowing it was likely a bit rough.
In general we have no complaints about our experience. The greens that are in the shade most of the time are very patchy and tough to putt on. We just said two putts on those greens was max.
Rest of course was what you expect for 1/4 the price of other places. Fairways were average, rough was thick in spots and bare in others. Staff was friendly, allowed us to play in a twosome, beers were cheap, cart girl was fun.
We will play again. Yes it isnt perfect but the cost and value make it playable when everything else is crazy.
The greens are in really, really, really bad shape. But at least the tee boxes are worse. The staff however are very friendly and helpful. The staff are the only reason this place isn’t one star.
Honestly for the shape the course is in they should be ashamed to charge the rate they do. They did admit 3 holes were in bad shape and offered a 10 dollar discount (75 instead of 85) prior to going out but at least 1/2 of the greens are in terrible shape due to the amount of sand, lack of grass and generally poor maintenance. Fairways were generally ok. OC has plenty of golf options and this won’t be one I’ll be returning to in the future.
Terrible course! Don’t waste your money and go anywhere else. Green’s were terrible and tee box’s were trash. Losing balls in the rough because the rough and the fairway are cut the same and is all overgrown! Way too expensive for a terrible course!
Just arrived from stallings NC called up to play 9 holes. Upon arrival was met by a a very friendly started who instructed me to go to the pro shop to sign in there was greeted by another very pleasant young who greeted us and set us up. I was taken back by the price 9 holes and a cart and a drink $48 dollars I remind 9 holes. And no senior discount Found the course in rough shape. Cups haven’t been moved in a while grad was dead around them and some of the tee boxes are just sand. We did receive a discount of 25% because the 9 was is worse shape, back home we pay $39 for 18 and that includes the cart. I won’t play here again. Nice layout and it has potential to be a nice course.
Was an okay golf course for the price. Greens were absolutely COOKED. Pace of play was good and tee times spaced out enough that no one was waiting on my group and were weren't ever waiting on groups ahead of us. Par 5 at hole 9 was probably the best hole on the course. Sand and water were not overused throughout. Would probably go here again but hopefully they can get their greens under control for better play.
Worst golf course I’ve played in many years. Greens and tee boxes are beyond dead, nothing but mud or sand. Sticks and debris everywhere. Staff is nice but other than that. Nowhere near a $60-70 course. If you’re an experienced golfer. Definitely do not recommend this place
Was charged $80 for an 8am tee time. Got there to find out there was a tournament going off at 9. Needless to say I left with 5 holes left due to the 4 group back up on hole 13. Several greens were in bad shape. Pro shop very outdated. Do not waste your money here.
Had an amazing experience here with an early tee time. Pace of play was perfect. Greens were immaculate and rolled very nice. Staff was very great and friendly I highly recommend this course if your in the area for this price.
Golf is always better than work. Fair price, I like the course layout, and the fairways are in fair shape. The greens are gonna need work, you'll lose at least 4 or 5 strokes on the greens. but to be fair, it's early and it looks like they are trying.
Love this place! Both wide open and narrow tree lined fairways. Difficult greens. Sand traps are mostly shallow. The par-3 holes are difficult. There is a driving range, practice putting green and a pitching and chipping area. Excellent pricing.
Course was in terrible shape. Tee boxes were bare, fairways were spotty at best and greens are awful.
They charge tourist $70 and local half that.
One bright spot was the lady at the food counter.
Course was in good shape, a-little rough in spots. Course management could be improved, arrived early to practice and was rushed to an early tee time without asking mid driving range. Once on the course it was moderately busy but pace was extremely slow with no ranger on site. We had to leave early because we would have been 5+ hours. When I mentioned slow play to the pro shop he said it’s really busy and hopefully will be better next time. Yeah I don’t think there will be a next time. The lower price isn’t worth it if you can’t maintain a standard.
Played this course last week during my beach vacation off of a GolfNow Hot Deal. Despite the rainy and stormy conditions, I was very impressed and had a great time. The course was in great condition and it was really a great value. I'll be looking forward to coming back!
Played there August very poor dried and aerated greens. Turf management? Joke? They should inform the player when they call for tee time and they should reduce rates now. Have not been back. Ruarks 3 play is a better deal with much better maintained courses
It is what it is. Normally the fairways are decent and the greens in good shape. The drought killed it. They have little irrigation. As a " local" my concern is that the price is not commensurate with the condition of the course. Comments here reflect that. Out of town folks should play elsewhere if serious golfers. Sadly, 3 courses with a total of 90 holes have closed in the OC area in recent years. They were reasonably priced.
I had a good experience at Ocean Resorts Golf club. Bill and Regó were very helpful and kind. The course happened to be closing down for a few weeks to help repair some of the greens. Some of the greens are in bad condition so it’s a good thing they’re going to take care of them. Besides that, the course was in good condition and had a cool vibe to it.
I’m a member and darn proud of it! Our course has taken a beating from the drought conditions this entire month (August). The greens and fairways are suffering. Our Pro Shop Staff and Maintenance crew have done everything they can, but until we get rain, the course will suffer. You ask about watering? Our well has gone dry. A new well is being dug. Hopefully this will help, we desperately need rain.
The course is a great layout! It just needs to recover, until then play elsewhere.
Disappointed with how our visit played out. Called ahead to schedule tee time and mentioned a coupon we had. When we arrived the first thing we were told was that hole 14 was shut down and some of the greens were in rough shape. I was frustrated that they didn't tell us this on the phone else we might not have gone. We asked if there was a discount because of the conditions and they didn't give a discount. $130 for two of us with a cart. I gave our coupon and he seemed frustrated that I didn't give it first when I was expecting some sort of a discount. The course layout was fine, but most of the greens had hardly any grass and were a hard brown clay. We paid $90 for the two of us with a cart, but I think it was too much for the conditions of the course.
Recently had the pleasure of visiting here with my father last week. Man we had a blast getting to try out the simulator they have in the clubhouse. At the price of $35/hr for up to four players it is hard to beat! After talking with the staff we learned that they have a weekly league for teams of two that we joined and hoping to put up some good numbers. We were told that sometime soon they will be receiving a new computer software that is supposedly even better (even though we thought this one was great) and it will include even more courses around the world.
Went to discourse at 5 PM on Wednesday. Upon arrival we found out that the driving range was closed at 4 o’clock for maintenance which is every Wednesday. Unfortunately it was my son‘s first time going and of course we went on the one day that it was closed. We were greeted by a member of the staff who advised us the reason why it was closed and that we could come back tomorrow. Once he learned that it was my son‘s first time going to the golf course he let us walk the first two holes so my son was able to get some practice in. It was a great experience for a 13 year old who In a normal day at the course, he would not be able to take multiple shots because of the other the golfers would be behind us. But today he was able to take his time as we were the last people in the course. Unfortunately I don’t have the name of the member of the staff who helped us. But I would like to say thank you.
Thank You to the entire team at Ocean Resort Golf Club. From the website to our time of arrival we were treated wonderfully and more important respectfully. As a an African American couple who loves to golf wherever we travel this can be a hit or miss. Basically, there are still public and private clubs who would prefer to keep us out. It was not that way here, Bill greeted us kindly and was very welcoming. He gave us the lay of the land with available tee times. As we waited he directed us to Cindy in the restaurant who created us a few delicious snacks as we dined on the patio. The facility is very well manicured and clean. The course is challenging even for a seasoned golfer and fun for beginners. I highly recommend this club and will return.
Three stars is generous. I got a $48 deal on GolfNow and this course wasn’t worth that. The rough is patchy grass and weeds, the greens are super small and seem like they haven’t been rolled maybe ever. The greens were also too long, so the putts were unreasonably slow. Tee boxes were beat up and cart path signage was subpar. The views are decent and there are some challenging hole layouts, but I wouldn’t go back unless it was $20 per round. All that being said, the staff was incredibly nice and that’s definitely worth mentioning. Kudos to everyone from the pro shop staff to the groundskeepers for being extremely friendly and accommodating. 2 stars for the course itself, 5 stars for the staff. 3 stars overall.
The course is fun. Not as easy as it looks. The staff is great! I left my brand new Bushnell Range Finder there and called three days later. They had it! Now that’s customer loyalty. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you Ocean Resort!!
Nice little golf course run by the local community college. This course is fairly short and rewards accuracy. Staff was friendly and course was mostly in good shape. Great value.
Love this track. It's a fun place to play for golfers of all skill levels. Good players can go low and the hacks can still beat it around in under 4.5 hours. I always look forward to playing this course when I get down to OC.
