Nice wide open course. Gorgeous view. Greens a bit fast, like pool table fast. Links style course. Lots of sand. Fun course. Nice clubhouse with small eatery and lounge.

BE WARNED - pace of play nightmare, 5 hours and 15 minutes to get through 13 holes - was not able to finish before dark because of this atrocity. No rangers in site, just a warning on golf cart screen saying pick up pace, which nobody probably sees. The biggest issue is the price - $189 which IMO is like top range public green fees. For that price, you should have your tee time spacing correct and/or rangers pushing slower players. A 5 hour round is long but 5 hours to get through 13 is an absolute joke. The only reason Rum Pointe is getting 2 stars - because my overall experience was extremely disappointing - is because the course itself is beautiful and very well maintained. Again, just wished I could have played all 18 in less than 5 hours - especially since 16-18 are the most scenic. Overall just disappointed, traveled to play here, paid top dollar and played 13 holes.

One of the two top courses open to pubic play in the Berlin area south of Ocean City. Excellent Pete Dye layout. Greens, fairways and bunkers all in excellent shape. Multiple tee boxes for all levels of play. Several reviews mentioned 5-6 hour rounds. That has not been my experience at Rum Pointe.

Beautiful course especially if you want a 5 1/2 round. Too many golfers, zero rangers or marshals to keep pace of play up. Go somewhere else and play

I’m going to start my review with saying the property is beautiful and the course is in tremendous shape. The starter was also a very kind person. That’s about all I have to say that was good. For $189 tee time, we waited on just about every shot. We were able to tee off 15 minutes after our tee time. A course this nice and expensive should not be a 5 hour and 30 min round that you only get to play 15 holes before it gets too dark. We did not see a ranger once while out. I was very excited to play this course and so upset leaving today. Don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon but they also probably don’t care because of how much money they make off one tee time.

Great course. Rangers should care about pace of play more. Waited 30 minutes to tee off 10th hole after making the turn.

Played Rum Pointe over the weekend. Beautiful course. Lousy management. Couldn't finish the round because it got too dark. Played 16 holes in 5:15 minutes because of huge backups. Example on hole 10 there were 3 foursomes waiting to tee off. We had to wait on every shot after hole 8. Either they had too many players, were not policing the pace of play or both. Either way it's completely unacceptable. For the amount of money we pay for the course we should be able to play the entire course in a reasonable amount of time. People fly in, rent housing, rent cars and pay to play golf. To have the golf course so poorly managed that you are unable to finish a round and with excruciating slow pace of play is terrible. There are too many other nice places to play on the east coast so do not come here.

I have always enjoyed playing this course, but my experience this past weekend was very bad. Almost a 6 hour round, several holes had three foursomes on on hole. On one hole we had 12 people on a tee box waiting. Unacceptable for any couse. We were polite with Marshal and pro shop, but the stated the management team would not allow more time between tee times. This is a must, to avoid these types of backups. Unacceptable and I will think twice about playing there again. Rob Brady

Played 10/4/25 - great course BUT NOT when it took six hours to play.@ $180. Mgmt should be a shame of themselves. 8 minute tee times , not rangers to move things along = greed over customer experience. Totally unacceptable. .

As always, beautiful course and friendly staff. But pace of play makes this an unacceptable experience. Tee times are 8 minutes apart and we had 4 groups at noon. Almost a seven hour round. At one point we had 4 groups on a par 3. We waited for EVERY shot. We do an annual large group outing a year and this is the second year of experiencing this. So for us, this is our last trip to Rum Pointe.

First and foremost, the course is beautiful, and the staff is cool. BUT…Tee Time management and pace of play are AWFUL. Expect to tee off well past your booked time. Rangers seem to be unable, or unwilling, to do anything about slow play. If you’re looking to pay a king’s ransom for five and a half hours while growing increasingly frustrated, this course is perfect!

Course was in fantastic shape. Traps well groomed and greens were HUGE with some undulations. Very windy day we played so made course much harder than normal. Very enjoyable round even playing as bad as I did.

Such a beautiful course....Pete dye did an amazing job laying this one out....all the rolling hills and the two tree lined holes made it challenging.....will definitely like to come back some day

Had a blast flat on course! What a great track. You can tell there’s been a lot of play but I didn’t have any bad lies. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful course but pace of play pathetic. Rolled up to 9th tee box with 2 groups already waiting. Got to 10 and called the pro shop for help. No rangers came out. When I finally saw a ranger on 15 he said many different levels of players. Don’t care how bad you may be. Move groups up if they are out of position. Beautiful course though

Played June 2025 as the final round of an OCMD weekend trip. Course was in phenomenal shape. It was hot and humid with little cover from the sun so bring your sunblock and bug spray (they warn you on the 1st tee). Great views of the bay pretty much everywhere. Morning round actually played pretty quick, under four hours (for our threesome). Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Conditions wise you’d be hard pressed to find anything better in OCMD, perhaps Lighthouse Sound is the only other one I’d say is close. A great blend of different golf holes throughout. My only gripe would be pace of play. They have 8 minute tee times and for $180+ it can be a tough pill to swallow to wait on several tee boxes throughout the round.

Great course, was cart path only due to previous day rain, but was in good shape. wonderful views, employees very friendly. Nice challenging course.

Rum Pointe is an amazing and beautiful golf course. The greens and fairways were in pristine condition. Staff was super friendly. Definitely recommend this course.

Top links course in the area! I played this 10/14/23 and it did not disappoint in anyway. Course was in great shape with the typical links but without a lot of fescue. Carts, range, etc were all well taken of and in great shape. Views of the marsh and bay are amazing. Green were in great shape. Holes 9 and 18 are headed directly back at the club house giving a great finish. This is my top links course and will be in my rotation when I visit. ***Bring mosquito spray*** I have no idea why but if you went in the wood 10 mosquitos would immediately attack.

I rarely give 5 stars for a golf course except of course when it is earned. On the water with exceptional views. Course is in excellent shape. Course is a bit above average difficulty. We played in 4:15 - a tribute to the staff keeping the golfers on track. Not cheap but well worth every penny.

What an amazing day of golf!! My brother and I came here to get our annual OC round in. Conditions were great and the weather was amazing. I love that they include range balls for all patrons. Everyone was friendly. The greens were rolling medium/fast. There are a handful of bay view holes. We really enjoyed it!

Fantastic course. Played it after a veritable monsoon the day before. I was shocked at the great condition of the course. Really speaks to the professionalism of the maintenance staff. Highly recommended!

Was there two weekends ago for a Thursday afternoon round. The first day of my buddies bachelor party and this place was great. The staff is extremely friendly, the course is in impeccable shape and the views cannot be beat. I highly recommend booking a round here if you are ever in the area or planning a trip to play here. We played a couple other courses which were nice also but this was the top by far.

Great course, a must visit if you're into golf and visiting the area. Worth every penny. It's in incredible shape, and they run a well run machine there. Nice challenging holes, with howling winds from the Bay in some holes. GPS carts help dial in your strategy. Greens are in great shape, but not completely humiliating either. Just a great experience.

This course is amazing. I play it one or two times a year and make it a point to come down to play it. The staff is always friendly and the course is im great shape. Plan to fight wind the whole time though, it's true to the links brand. My only complaint today is the bunkers, all very hard with little sand in them. A course this price should have someone that tends to the bunkers before players are going out.

This course is hard!! Especially with a breeze. But very fun. True links style and in excellent shape. Even for November. Greens fast and true. Pro shop staff helpful and friendly. Mr.s Pete & PB Dye, I will beat your course some day! :)
