I love the concept of this store. I bought an old laminate piece of wood to use for a food photography background for $10.

Oh my goodness this place is amazing! Such screaming great deals, awesome hidden finds and friendly people. A real gem, highly recommend for anyone who gets lost in hardware or antique stores.

Great place for everything vintage and even antique, one could search there for hours, literally!! And leave with something!

The price gods must be crazy ?!!!! The price of the entire store's products are not affected at all by any kind of taxes or pricing in any form or fashion when it comes to tariffs! Every single ach item is screaming select ME PLEASE!!!!! only affected by the extreme discounts that the store is known for by everyone who has shopped there!!!! No other paint supplies store even exists for me anymore.

Seems to be a nice spot for household hardware. Employees are friendly and helpful.

Love the place! Been there many times and always find something I can use. Huge selection of old doors and old windows at a reasonable price. I have an old shotgun house with an odd size window. They had close to what I needed with a little trimming. Staff is friendly and courteous. They have large amounts of paint in a few colors cheap.

Great place to find different building materials and a great selection of historical materials for restoration and craft projects

Great place for a field trip! (About 20 kids or less) It can get messy with paint, but the kids learn, are creative, and have fun.

Great spot that lives the "reuse" mandra. Got a ceiling light here. So many items to choose from: fasteners, hand and power tools, appliances, doors and windows, paint, lamps and lights...etc

You can get some really good deals here, I do maintenance in New Orleans, they have hard to find items.

I appreciate the concept behind The Green Project. Not what you might consider a higher end architectural salvage place, but good for those folks looking to repurpose things for art projects and such.

This is a Used Bookstore for architectural goodies, a recycling and reclamation center for doors, windows, frames, banisters, handles, you name it! It’s a wonderful idea of a store, executed with joy and good humor. A treasure-chest for home decorators and interior designers. Exterior designers, too! And it is so, so, so reasonably priced. What a great place!

Awesome salvage place for almost anything you could imagine needing! They're got so many gorgeous antique doors, all sorts of glass in different sizes, windows, knobs, tools, wood pieces of all kinds of sizes, light fixtures, the list goes on and on. I bought some glass to build a terrarium table with and it was very reasonably priced. Definitely going to return for more craft supplies. It's way cheaper than going to a big box store and more sustainable as well, 10/10 would recommend. The place is warehouse style so it's hot in the summer, and lots of stuff is dusty so I'd recommend taking an antihistamine before going if you're prone to allergies like me.

So glad a place like this exists! It's saved me a fortune and I've learned a lot. Things are well priced and employees are very helpful and kind

Check this place out whenever you’re in the area, so many cool things. Old things. Old New Orleans. They even have free items. Check business hours beforehand because they’re not open every business day. Thank me later

If you're into fixing up your house, you'll find some treasures in here. I have made it part of my weekly ritual. I've found some really cool light fixtures, glass tops, mirrors, and tons of miscellaneous stuff. If you have a creative mind, you'll love this place. You never know what you will find! :)

Love this place - they may have crazy business hours, but their assortment of reusable materials and hardware is second to none in the Greater New Orleans area. I never leave empty handed. From an old mason jar full of mixed screws and hooks to antique French doors, there's bound to be a treasure for every patron waiting around any of its numerous corners and crevices. With incredibly reasonable (sometimes negotiable) pricing, I make an effort to stop at The Green Project before heading to those big box hardware stores for most accoutrements. If you like the atmosphere of a hardware store flea market and don't mind getting a little dirty while digging, you'll love it. The staff are always laid back and ready to assist in any way they can.

This is a very important spot to know about if you own a historic home in the New Orleans area. There is a huge inventory of historic buildings in the New Orleans area which suffer due to the challenging environment of the region along with time that results in ongoing damage to different parts of these old buildings and it is hard to find replacement parts. The Green Project is essentially a graveyard of houses that have been sadly torn down and the remaining good parts salvaged which allows current homes to be repaired with the remains of destroyed ones. The biggest negative here is the sticker shock prices of many of the items as you are no longer getting good deals on many of the items which might have been much more possible right after Hurricane Katrina.

A place to donate my materials and also pick up up anything that might be needed for renovation. From a stray bucket of mud, old windows that cost thousands to have made, to old doors, Ive gotten awesome deals over the years and love the kind of people who are employed there - helpful and friendly, you won't meet angry staff.. at least I haven't in 13 years. A real service to the community and a greener future.

Fantastic place to get old house items for an old or new home. They do have a sign that says at your discretion you might come in contact with Asbestos or Lead. If you live in an older home, you're already aware. Prices were very reasonable, and if you catch them before Jan. 1 they have percentages off depending on ticket color. Just look for the special tan one - wink, wink.

I’ve only been here a couple times due to the distance, but we absolutely love it here! One of those places that should be featured on Fixer Upper or the like. Have to dig through a lot and have a little luck, but you can find some awesome stuff here for the right price!

I’ve been wanting to go to this location for at least 6 to 8 months, but due to auto immune issues and COVID, I waited. But as I walked in yesterday, I laughingly told the Customer Service rep that it was my first time, and she took the time (rare!) to explain the layout of the store & asked what I was hoping to find. As I walked around, you’ll see the treasures both architecture, creative and practical or for the DYI self-contractor because of a storm…this is your place!! There’s even a workroom available!! So…great cause, friendly customer service and a whole building for creative growth & inspiration?? What’s not to love?? Highly Recommend!!

This place is awesome! I feel like they really see the value in old stuff, like I do. They have buckets of nails/screws bolts that are a lil rusty b do the job for cents per pound! I left that store with a bag of nails and some painting tools for 2/3$ and was able to drop off some old lumber knowing it could be useful for somebody for a project!

What a wonderful idea and a great use for vintage items. One of the largest old door selections around.

One of my favorite places. They had a really good stone sale going on... finally made a desk.

Staff is extremely friendly. The place itself is a bit hectic - lots of stuff everywhere. But, if you are willing to dig through some things you can definitely find cool things for pretty cheap. Glad that there is a place like this in the city that is reclaiming a lot of what was lost during Hurricane Katrina. Huge selection of doors and windows, paint, etc.
