They give fair prices for recycling, and easy... but their lot is full of debris. Went there scrapping some copper and as I was leaving the lot a piece of shredded aluminum went in my tire well, by the time I hit the stop sign my tire pressure alert went off and by the time I circled around back it was at 19 psi. The owner was called and he said he wouldn't do anything about it. Fortunately I carry a tire pump and was able to get to the gas station and Walmart where I purchased the tire In July 1st. I won't be going back and risk more damage to my car over some scrap. Recycle there with caution.

My man and i have sold scrap at River Metals on numerous occasions. It's always a good experience. The option of cash payout at on site atm is a great advantage for many folks. The weigh master is very fair in his dealings and took time, during a rush to sort out a question today.
The guys on the yard are helpful, knowledgable and all about the safety.

Not posted very well on exactly what you should do but just go inside and they will give you the instructions. They paid 16.6 cents per pound for general scrap metal today.
This is probably the worst place to sell your scrap metal. I brought in clean brass at 1.00a lb and they tried to pass it off scrap stainless steel at 20cent a lb. They wouldnt even shoot it with their gun to confirm what Itwas because it was to much of a hassle to actually work. Thats aside from the fact that the huge guy sittin in his red truck couldnt even answer simple questions. After sitting there for 40 mins tring to get someone to help me i left. I took it to river metals on moody st and they shot it and paid me whay it worth within 10 mins. Garretts is a sad joke of bussiness run by lazy hogs.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Made the process simple. Only complaint was the road out of the building was pretty rough. But I'll definitely be back when I have more to recycle.
