Very friendly people and very caring, a really good food bank for help with food in times of need and emergency. They do offer delivery service to your door for the handicapped and home bound if needed.

A blessing to so many in Clark county, just use to like the old way where you could choose your own food items. Still a great blessing to many

The staff that so graciously volunteers their time here are the nicest and least judgmental people. I wish everyone who works with this part of the public who are already down on luck and have fallen on hard times, were as kind as the staff here. Some government workers can be rude and cruel, make you feel worse than you already do for needing help, but not here, and bless them for that. As for the few comments stating the food is expired, well those people just aren’t using common sense. Yes, you will get day old things from the bakeries around town, that’s why they’re donated! If they were fresh they would be full priced still at the store. As for the meat, as soon as it hits the sell by date it is frozen and stays frozen until you cook it at home. Frozen meat can last well past the expired date, I thought everyone knew that…guess not from some of these ridiculous comments. This place and the people are here to help you, no one is trying to poison you. You have a better chance of getting food poisoning from a restaurant giving you off meat they’re still trying to sell as to not lose profit. There is no profit to be lost at the food bank, if they do get off food they do in fact toss it, I’ve seen them have to toss a large amount of tomatoes last time I was there, unfortunately they didn’t get donated soon enough to be used. This is a wonderful organization and the people of Jeffersonville are lucky to have it. I’ve been on both sides, the donating and the receiving, life is hard when you’re born without a safety net. If you can donate food or time, please do. I promise if there is ever a time you need to take they will be there for you just like they have been for me during two very hard times a decade apart. Blessings to you all, hope everyone gets back on your feet soon xo

The first time I went there, I was upset and crying because we had been almost out of food for a week and I didn't know about these types of places. They are very friendly, and that does make it easier when you are in need of help. I've never been turned away. Advertise that clients can come in working with someone there to get what they can eat due to dietary restrictions, BUT that doesn't happen. That was the reason we went there to begin with. They bring things to your car and that's it. We end up giving our food away because we can not eat it. They don't ask on the paper you fill out if there are items you can not eat. Dare to Care advertises a lot of food and types of food, but everyone I talk to at the food pantry says they never see anything like that. Especially around the holidays.

Mind you these people we very nice and helpful in everyone’s time of need, BUT the food they have there…….Are You Kidding Me? Wise up, these people Honestly Need to check the expiration dates on their food, my social worker CLEARLY went out of his way to take me here to get some food ONLY to find out that they Majorly of the food I got from them EXPIRED…..I feel terrible for saying this But I might have to contact the health department about this, This Is Absolutely unacceptable

The Center for Lay Ministries does a wonderful job helping feed the local homeless population. It's nice to know they are there if a person is ever in need. Truly a nobel cause.

Very caring people. Always need food donations and volunteers or buy a giving card at Meijer (donations are matched by Meijer). More of our neighbors are needing help at this time so share your blessings with others.

I went to Lay Ministries a couple of years ago when my daughter came home with 4 babies and no employment. I could not have been treated better. They did not make me feel awkward or uncomfortable they had you in and out in no time at all and there was usually clothes and household items out front that you were welcome to. They were a prayer answered when i needed help, a blessing id say. God Bless, Kitti London's
