Awesome service! Steve's very knowledgeable and knew exactly what was wrong with my truck. It's nice to have an honest shop and not worry about being ripped off. Very professional. Highly recommended.

My wife's car wouldn't start at the Kroger the other day. I went up and charged it, and she drove to Advanced Autoparts at Hickory Flat to get a new battery. They put it in, and afterward the car was completely dead. She tells me the guy was seeing if he could figure out what was going on, but nothing was working. I figure I'm going to have to go pick her up and find a way to get the car to a mechanic. I Googled for an auto repair shop nearby and there is a place 5 minutes away that has good reviews. I drove over there and the Auto Parts guy is really apologetic. He tells me me everything he had tried. He tried another new battery. He put the old battery back in. He put a new battery in the key fob just in case. Nothing. He Googled for other solutions. He asked some people he knew, including a mechanic nearby to see if they had any advice. I asked what mechanic, and it was the same place I had Googled. I asked if he knew if they had a tow truck, and he said he was still seeing if there was anything else he could try. He goes into the store. Two guys then show up and they're from the repair shop. One of them is the owner. That was a surprise to the auto parts guy too. They start working on it (mostly the second guy). They're stumped for a few minutes and then it starts. All the fuses looked good, but the guy took a spare one from the cover on the inside fuse box and replaced a fuse under the hood and that did it. The shop is Hickory Flat Auto Repair. I tell the owner Steve they have my business next time I need any auto work. I mentioned we have two cars, and our kids have two. That same night my daughter calls me and her car won't start. She had a battery charger I got her, and that didn't do it, and what she described didn't sound like a bad battery. She had the car towed to Hickory Flat Auto today. It turns out it was just "flooded", which Steve told her can happen sometimes if it's cold out and you just move the car, and the next time it won't start. He pushed the pedal to the floor, pushed the start button and it started after a while. No charge. That was twice in just a few days that Steve helped us out. There are some who would have taken advantage of that easy fix and either charged for it, or worse yet, said it was something else and charged a lot more.

Engine was overheating in my truck. They did some work but on it but at some point I guess there was an oversight on a component. Brought it back and within a day they fixed her right up at no additional cost. Very honorable staff that takes pride in their work.

Being new to the Hickory Flat area, I had to find a good local Automotive Repair Shop quickly when my wife's Lexus RX350 battery died while in our garage. With many commitments and Doctors appointments scheduled, we thought the worst. I called 2 Shops and I instantly knew Steve at HFAS knew his stuff. Roadside Assistance got us started and off to HFAS we went in 2 cars. We left the Lexus with Steve. In 2 hours we got a call to pick up the car. The entire experience was a pleasure and the price fair. No more long runs for Dealership services will be needed for our 2 cars this point forward. Oh, by the way, Steve's phone diagnosis was spot on. Not so for the other shop!

Have had nothing but good experiences at this shop. Steve is a super nice guy, and seems honest and trustworthy. Tough to find in the automotive world. Highly recommend.

We were in town from Virginia visiting family when our car started leaking oil. It was a Friday, and most of the shops we called were unable to schedule service until Monday, which is when we were due to head back to VA. Hickory Flat was the closest shop, so we took a chance and drove in without an appointment, hoping for the best. The owner was understanding of our situation and got our car into a bay as soon as possible. The inside area is comfortable and air-conditioned, which was perfect for a hot day. Our car was repaired and we were back on the road in little time. We are so appreciative of the excellent customer service and care of our vehicle. Thank you!

I can’t say enough good things about this shop. I would give them 10 stars if I could. I feel so lucky to have found them. They are honest, fast, reliable, fair priced and they go the extra mile any time they have the chance. They will even communicate through text if you want. I will bring my car to this shop as long as they are open. I just wish I could get my paint job here too!

I was out of town visiting my daughter and had an issue with the water pump on my vehicle. Stopped in and they said they would be able to get it done that day. Also, the owner took me back to my daughters house as I didn’t have a ride back Very friendly and I would highly recommend.

This shop is awesome! I have moved all my cars over to them for service as the owner, Steve, is a straight-shooter and takes the time to work with you. He spent a tremendous amount of time researching a check engine code on my Cadillac to ensure the fix was correct before he started the repair. I can't tell you how much that meant to me - he wanted to make sure it was 100% accurate before he 'spent my money'! Kudos to this excellent shop in the Hickory Flat area....you've earned my trust in y'all!

Trustworthy. I've been using HFA for a few years now and have been satisfied. Last visit, was for a check engine light that could have been anything. Thankfully not a major problem but they were honest enough to tell me that when I depended on them.

Great customer service and honest people! We took our truck in for some noises that we were concerned about. They looked the truck over and didn't find anything concerning, and advised us that everything was fine. They didn't even charge us for the time it took to look at the truck! They've also done other work for me in the past and their prices are very reasonable and their timing is fast. Great automotive center!

Steve and his crew have been great and they always take great care of us. They squeezed us in when we needed brakes done before leaving town for the weekend. Nate was professional and courteous, really great shop and the biggest reason you should make the switch to local from the dealerships and big box shops...they really care about their customers.

A friend recommended this place and I’m really glad he did. I had to have a few odds and ends repaired and get a tune up. My truck was fixed and ready promptly and they even threw in a free oil change! The price was fair and they did shop around for the most affordable parts before doing the work. Very pleased with the whole experience!

What an amazing company. As most know it’s hard to find a decent and honest mechanic. Steve was so wonderful. My wheel lug nuts had broken off and another place couldn't get them out. He got them out without a problem. Went ahead and got my breaks done gave me a discount with all the work I had to get done. So with that was great pricing. My part came in from Napa the next morning. He was ready to put them on when I arrived with a smile and a friendly good morning. I ask if he could put in a tail light that I had out. He sure did, I ask him how much for the light and putting it in. He said no charge. WOW just WOW. Amazed me all the way around. I watched how Steve worked with other customers coming in and with each one he was fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly. The waiting room was clean with complimentary coffee, drinks and snacks, and a plus he let me pick the channel of the TV. :) He has my business all the way around and I will be recommending him to everyone.
