Very friendly and accommodating. I had a leak in my tire where a plug came out. I explained I had to get to a baseball tournament but didn’t need the truck but he told me to come right in. They had it fixed in 5 min.
Harry and the guys at Below Book are the best. I would highly recommend them. They are not only trustworthy and reliable. In the 3 years I have been going there, time and time again, they have gone above and beyond. Prices are fair. Harry is always looking to get you the best deal without cutting corners. He will also prioritize honest recommendations over profit. I have had experiences where mechanics will recommend certain repairs over a more sensible, less costly solution. That has never been my experience at BB.
Note, if you are looking to get an oil change, plan ahead! They are often booked up, especially in the busy months. That's what happens when you have a reputation like Harry does.
Staff is so kind and helpful! Had an emergency and pulled over luckily to find their shop. Immediately helped me had me back on the road in no time! Bill is the best!
Good morning I never write reviews but I have never had a horrible experience at a repair shop. Below Book are a bunch of liars and scam artists. I made an appointment for valve cover gasket replacement and they told me 3 weeks OK so I bring it on a Tuesday they Quote me $500. They call me at 4pm Tues and say they are waiting for parts ( known by them I brought my own parts) so they lied. Next day mechanic calls and says they didn't start it yet. Thursday I call van is done BUT NOW ITS $600 . THEY SAID WE PUT NEW WIPER BLADES ON I JUST PUT THEM ON BRAND NEW. I WENT THERE BECAUSE OF GREAT REVIEWS. PEOPLE ARE BEING SCAMMED THEY SEEM NICE BUT THE ARE SMILING SNAKES. I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE ELSE FROM BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. KARMA IS SOMETHING THEY DESERVE
This car repair shop is the best on the area for some of us that don't want to spend less to have our cars serviced after the warranty period. They are very good at what they do.
Stopped in on a whim....in need of a tire repair. It was 5 minutes until closing time, but they repaired my flat tire anyway. When I asked what was owed, I was surprised to find out they don't charge for this service! I left a generous tip for a job well done. I have taken my cars to Harry for service and am always pleased and amazed at how quickly he resolves any problems. His service fee are very reasonable. I would highly recommend his facility and will return whenever I need service.
Car battery died, unexpectedly. Next morning, called Harry. He told me to come right over. He contacted NAPA for correct battery also. I was in and back home in less than an hour. Below Book is fantastic, efficient and reasonable.
Absolutely Fantastic! Get 10 out of 5 stars from me. Moved to Lewes from the south. Daughter recommended them. Been there 5 times over the last year.Twice with diesel pick up, a sports car and a sedan. Terrific diagnosis and repair each time. Fast, courteous and reasonable. They're also quick to advise if it's a chore (like dash cam installation) they don't do - but will refer you. You'll love 'em. Hillbilly from Tennessee.
The gentlemen at this business are so great! I am new to Lewes and have stopped in a few times with tire concerns and they have always been helpful. BUT this week, when my car wouldn’t start I asked neighbors for suggestions where to bring my car, none of the suggestions panned out, one place could not in get me in until May 11!!!
And then I remembered Harry from Below Book Auto! I called, he said to come over with the car. Harry was straight forward, honest and had my car fix d in less than 1 day!!

was an out of towner over the Christmas break and my check engine light came on, 1000 miles from home. I called around and was told this was the only place that was still running CEL diagnosis due to COVID restrictions. Very grateful they were able to confirm there was substantial issue, it was an idle air issue. They cleared the code and it never came back.
Harry and his team are terrific to deal with. The service on my 2011 Grand Cherokee was great and very professional and very fairly priced I highly recommend Below Book Auto for service and diagnostics.

My husband took his car up to below book three times. They claim they fixed it. And the truck he claimed he fixed the brakes and he did not. Also a friend sold us a car my husband took it up there for a oil change. He drove the car and later found out it had no oil in it and the engine blew up...they are a big time too off.
While visiting from New Jersey I was in need of emergency car care. These gentlemen were amazing. Chuck was our angel that day and the guys here will always be remembered as phenomenal people who restored my faith in humanity. The words " Thank you " will never be enough
My car broke down, needed an alternator and battery. I could not get in anywhere for a week. Jim and Larry took my car in right away and got my car up and running the same day! I just had a double knee replacement, and they made sure I was not without a car! Thank you so much! I would not go anywhere else! Really great, caring individuals!
Very direct straight to the point type of Auto sales....I purchased a 2008 Pontiac G6 with 2000 down low payments and no interest packed on! Bob Cassaday was great....don't find salesman like him anymore!
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I would highly recommend. I was visiting Rehoboth Beach area with my family and our car broke down. AAA asked me where they wanted my car towed – my inclination was to the closest dealership which was 30 miles away and who could not confirm timing for getting the car repaired. Tow truck driver called Harry who said they would look at the car immediately and do what they could to get me on the road as soon as possible. I got a call from Harry later that day saying they had identified the issue and ordered the part which would arrive early next morning. I was able to pick up the car next day and get back home. Auto shop is a rare gem and has a wonderful owner. Many thanks for the assistance in helping out a stranded family.

Im always a little wary of new shops and mechanics; 4 years later and i still wont take my car anyehere else. They are awesome.
Based on the recommendation of a neighbor who spoke highly about this local auto repair service we used them instead of the original car dealers in the past for our almost 8-yr old Kia Sedona Minivan. We are so happy to now have found this honest and reasonable car service place. Using an inexpensive Harbor Freight 'Check Engine Light' Code Reading tool I knew we had to replace one of the 'heated oxygen sensors' and I had ordered the $60 OEM part online. Harry of Below Book Auto Sales charged us only $70 total to install this part, do an oil and filter change and tire rotation. The Kia dealer we used in the past wanted $99 just to read the error code again, plus parts, labor, oil change and tire rotation. A side note: when I first visited Below Book, to ask if I could buy and bring my own part (yes), I asked a woman in the waiting area if she had used them before. She answered "No, but my neighbor recommended them." For women, especially, it is so important to use such an honest car repair place.
Pretty good place to go to for a cheaper car.
They get cars that have been in minor accidents and have been totalled. If you've ever had to replace a specific panel or whatever for a car, and have been smacked with a huge price tag, you'd understand why sometimes a car being "totalled" doesn't necessarily mean it's ready for the junkyard.
My car had been lightly rear-ended, and the hatch had a price of several thousand dollars. These guys go through the effort of finding the part and fixing it.
They're very upfront, and have pictures and details about exactly what condition it was in when they got it.
Harry is the best and the guy to talk to, but he's also pulled in 10 directions at once, and can be a little hard to pin down at times.
This business is WONDERFUL! I'm from out of state and they fixed my car in less than an hour! They are honest and fair! Best experience I've ever had with my SAAB!
I have had nothing but positive experiences with the Service Department, Harry. They are servicing my vehicles that were not purchased from the Auto Sales Dept. I have recommended others to their Service Department, which they used, and have had the same experience.
Omg!!! Harry is the best...all the years i have had cars and repairs to go along with them...he is the first person to treat my car as his own and not rob my purse strings!!!!
