One miserable woman at the counter, think she's an owner named Patty with such a bad attitude and lack of respect for customers is appealing. I mentioned home Depot and she flipped out. You need to control your outbursts and provide a higher level of customer service so you can compete with home Depot which is right down the street. I will NEVER buy anything here again

They lie , was told 10 day turn around on mower , 26 days latter never heard from them, called 3 times in a week and no one would ever tell me anything definite. Paid my $60.00 picked it up and replaced the carburetor myself. Runs ok Stay away

Whenever I have dealt with Pugh's Automotive, each experience has been customer service, no muss, no fuss! Very knowledgeable staff at this family-owned location. And whether purchasing a small part or a piece of small engine equipment, it's always a friendly positive visit. Finally, the times I've had small engine repair work done, the results are always great! I certainly do recommend this business!

"BE AWARE OF PUGH'S" they are located at 728 Dover Leipsic Rd., Dover, DE 19901. I was SCAMMED today. Patty quoted me a price over the phone what it will cost me to have my gas push lawn mower serviced for only $115.00 that was for a tune-up that included a new spark plug, filter, oil change, sharpen blade and even a power-wash. I thought that was great, so I asked what was the cost to have my mower picked up from my house that was 9.7 miles from there shop. She said $40.00 each way. I gave her my address then to have the service done. After they have taken possession of my lawn mower, I get a message that it will cost me $370.00 Not $115.00. I called back and told her that I can buy a new mower for that price and I would make arrangements to pick up my mower. She then quoted me $20.00 more dollars because they looked at it so the $40.00 + $20.00 = $60.00. When I got there ready to pay with a check or credit card, the girl tells me my total is $100.00. I told her that it was a mistake and my total should be $60.00 because I was told because they looked at my mower, that was an extra $20.00 plus the pick up charge of $40.00. She tells me that I must have misinterpret what was said. They charge $60.00 for a diagnostic test plus the $40.00. I was very upset that I was first Never told when I spoke to Patty on the phone of all the charges they will add to for any services that may get done once my lawn mower was picked up. I was then told that I had to pay cash only which I didn't come prepared for. They were keeping my lawn mower hostage unless I paid cash up front. But good thing my ride had the cash on her. This place IS A SCAM and need to be reported to the BBB. I had to hit one star just to post this. Believe me I would say Zero star!!

A REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE! I spent up to $4,000.00 and my car is worse then when i took it to them. I now have a coolant leak that my car did not have before i took it to this place. 1st visit) Charged $1,200 for speed sensor. Got car back and it was making a really bad noise. 2nd visit) Charged $1,200 for stage 2 diagnostic. Changed alternator. My car is still having same turning off and on whe driving Got car back and I have a coolant problem. Now, car not fixed and have another problem 3rd visit) For benefit of the doubt, I took it back in to give them a chance to fix it. So this time it cost me $1,700 & change. Replaced the alternator again and the thermostat housing. Note: Did not change the thermostat. Said problem was fixed. My car is still turning on and off & I still have a coolant leak. I was told a stage 2 diagnostic tells me exactly what's wrong with my car. They did that twice and I still don't have and my car fixed. My Range Rover is still worse shape than when I took it there. I have given them a couple months now. I have been waiting for a phone call to see if maybe they wanted to fix it and havn't heard a word. So I'm gonna start pumping reviews to hopefully help others not make the same mistake. Definatly the worst car shop & incompetent mechanics I have ever encountered & have quite a few cars. Please don't take your car there. You're just gonna waste your money and your car will more than likely have more problems then what you went in with.

I asked these theives to give me a price for a new oiler on my chainsaw. They told me it would be the same as a new chainsaw. Then these ripoff artists charged me $60 for diagnosis. I ALREADY DIAGNOSED IT AND TOLD THEM WHAT THEPROBLEN IS. I advise you not to take your business to them. They make you prepay $60. I see they are slowly losing inventory, and I think they won't be in business long.

Untimely, shoddy repairs amd rude. Took a chainsaw there to have it repaired. It took 4 months to get back a chainsaw that Chainsaw was never completely repaired. When I requested that they look it over to determine if it was an install problem, they told me I was uninformed, it was nit theor problem and tye would charge me to look again. Not even checking to make sure their workmanship is correct before issuing more costs...and for the cost you could just by a new one. I'd a gave them 0 stars if that was an option. I would NEVER recommend them. Buy yourself a new whatever first, you'll get a warranty amd BETTER customer service with it.

Do not let Pugh's Automotive in Dover Delaware be your first service repair choice, especially if you have to deal with Patty. She was short in temper, lacked knowledge, and never followed through to inform of status like she said she would (never called me). She actually told me that they could not get my small engine repair services completed because I kept calling them for weekly status reports after 2 months of not hearing a thing, before she angrily hung up. ***Patty you need to change jobs as you do not have the patience to deal with customers. Patty is always overwhelmed & I got tired of the excuses of why things were not happing (races day, sick technician, he is out getting gas, funerals, etc....

Mower dropped off 5 months ago. Needed a battery and a belt. They called this week said $300. So I paid. Then the next day they called back asked me if I wanted them to put the motor back together.. umm i gave it to them in one piece. And that will cost more money, oh and the grand total would now be 2,400. Scam artisit are their finest. Customers beware!!!! For heavens sake please, please do your research. Calling the bbb

We called this morning about getting the propane tanks filled on the RV. They said that they would do it. We drove there and were given attitude from the woman at the counter. She said she wouldn't fill our tanks. Thanks for wasting our time, Tractor Supply is happy to accept our money and provide the service that they said they would do.

Took my push mower there because I didn’t have the time to mess with it and they said it needs a whole new carburetor. The mower is only two years old! Ended up picking it back up instead of them charging me for something I don’t need! Put a little starter fluid and it started right up.+ very bad customer service

I took my chain saw to have it looked at, chain sharpened and tuned up. They told me it would be about a week to get the parts. Two weeks later I called and told me there was still 6 people ahead of me, so I was like okay it is what it is. A week later they called and told me it would be over 500 to fix it, so I told them not too. Both times speaking to the lady “Patty” who said she was the manager/part owner was rude and made it seem like I was bothering her. When I went to pick it up the chain was missing and they told me I didn’t need the chain since it wasn’t fixed. At this time I became very irritated and asked to speak to the manger and that’s when I learned that Patty was the manager. I left without my chain and very poor customer service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS PLACE FOR REPAIR, SERVICE OF ANY EQUIPMENT.

Pugh's was a very Professional and Friendly establishment, from AutoService to the Office Workers. I was very Happy and Pleased with the work they did to my Vehicle. Automotive work and Body work. They did and excellent outstanding job. They also have pickup Service which is Great.. Thank You Guys and Girls. PUGH'S Automotive Service is Highly Recommended by Me....?

This family owned place fixed my bent frame and I’ve had no issues. The owner came out on his day off to help me with a flat tire. I can’t say enough about them. Everyone there is truly genuine and caring. Don’t know what I would’ve done without them. Highly recommended! Thank you to all the employees ?

Very good mechanics!! Top of the line work!! They did some work on my husbands navigator and he was thrilled with the work. The tow was cheap and got the job done and never gave up!! These guys work there butts off and won’t hesitate to pick the phone up and let you know what’s going on With the vehicle! Great work I recommend to everyone!!! The mechanics really know there stuff!!

Absolute worst service I've ever had. I dropped off my pressure washer on Jan 8th and was told the average turn around was 10 days. I said okay and made my $45 deposit. Finally on February 19th I get a call saying that their mechanic has looked at it, had not fixed it, but finally diagnosed that it had a crack in the pump. When I went to pick up my property the mechanic said that a seal inside the pump was cracked and that he could not replace a simple seal. Why did this take over 40 days!? Then they told me it would be $475 to replace the pump. You can buy a brand new pressure washer for way cheaper than that. I also discovered after I got my item back home that the wand for my pressure washer had rusted. Seeing as how they had left it outside in the weather for 6 weeks...

I had the best experience ever at Pugh’s today. I went to other places and they couldn’t fix the lights on my car, however called Pugh’s and they did not hesitate to tell me to bring my car in that they would fix it, and they did. I was only there an hour and it was fixed and I went home. It’s a family owned business and everyone was very kind and nice. Will definitely go back for any kind of service for my car.

They changed my husband and I for diagnostics on a chainsaw that they then had put in the discard pile without asking if we wanted it back(with in 30 days when their policy says 60 days). The really old woman that shouldn't be in customer service then called me ignorant because I said that sounds like theft. We dropped it off to get fixed and they told us that the parts are not available(we found them online in 5 minutes). Then she proceeded to tell us that a technician had taken our saw home to fix and keep for himself. Not sure how that's not theft if they never got our permission to just take it. She said it was worthless anyway but that's not for her to decide ether.

DoNot Take your lawn mower here. Your better off buying a new mower. The price is outrageous. Just for cables on a push mower they wanted $250 plus another 150 for a tuneup on a freaking push mower. They must have thought they were working on my Nissan Titan. This is why the charge you a deposit of $45 because they been laughed at so much for the pricing. Oh and all those mowers you see lined up out there are from people rejecting to pay their price Just believe me don’t waste your time or money. Look at the other reviews there is definitely a trend and wish I would have read them before hand. Warning!!!!!!

It is very difficult to find great , honest service on anything . We are all held captive to this . I drove an hour from my home to take a mower to Pughs service and I am glad I did ! The honesty was only matched by the people who confront you and work on your mowers and cars ! It is always hard to deal with the “ public “. And people who do ; Must face difficult customers often . Mark, the owner and patty will do all they can ,to be the best ! I found them to be the best ! I will drive 1 hour each way. To take everything I need fixed Thank you to all your employees and to Pughs !!

I have used Pugh several times and never come away disappointed! Customer service is amazing and the knowledge and experience that they have made my auto repairs quick and inexpensive. I have family in the auto repair business in Pennsylvania and Pughs treats me like family. I appreciate all that they do!

Have a older model zero turn lawn mower. Company no longer in business and parts can not be ordered. Pughs took the deck and did a manual repair and fabrication to fix my deck. They didn't charge me as much as a new mower like everyone else wanted to do!

Mark came to pick up my car after it broke down at 5:00 on a Friday. Wonderful service! Pugh's always takes such good care of my vehicle and always has the work completed in a quick time frame. Wouldn't go anywhere else for car repairs!

I'm speechless. Quoted me 200 and change for service and they were going to look at a few things else. The only other call I got that it was done and the bill is 572!!!!!!! No phone call to tell me what was wrong and if I wanted it fixed. Can anyone recommend another place? I'm finished with them. The latest as of 01/31/2018!!! I get a call from a strange woman that had my lawn mower dropped off on her lawn. No I'm sorry, no nothing. Then they tell me that there not going to drop off tomorrow. SURE!!Just do whatever you want. These people are the worst. Stay away!!!!!

I own Total LawnWorx, a lawn and landscaping business in Magnolia, DE. I have purchased all of my small equipment from Pugh's. I have received nothing less then phenomenal service from everyone there. I was working on a job when my hedge trimmers stopped cutting, I called Pugh's Service and they got me in, fixed and back to work right away. I have also mowed several lawns for their customers while Pugh's was working on their lawn mower. I always hear positive comments from these customers. I highly recommend this small, family owned and operated business!!!!!!!

Brought a small Echo chainsaw to them to check out a no-start issue. They told me they were four to six weeks out which I did not have a problem waiting. I had to leave a $35 deposit. After 6 weeks they call me up with a quote of almost 80% of the cost of a brand new saw. I told them that I did not feel it was worth to fix it and that I would be in to pick it up. I asked him what my total bill was they told me I owed another $50. So for $85 they told me of a few parts it could be. I go in to pick up my saw pay my $50 they bring the salt out to me in multiple pieces. When I questioned why am I saw was not reassembled I was told if the customer don't want it fixed we don't put it back together. I made the comment wow just paid $85 and got my soul back and 15 different pieces. So I reassembled my saw and they didn't even put all the parts back in the box that they give me so not only did I pay $85 now I have to go get other parts that they had not put in the box when they give it to me. I used to use this place all the time but now since I guess the old man passed away this place is now a joke. I would rather buy a new piece of equipment and trash the old one then take it to the shop.

Thanks for servicing our vehicles over the years. We know Pugh's Service Inc. is going to go the extra mile when making repairs and provide top of the line service to our vehicles. It's always nice to pick up your car at the shop knowing the job was done right.
