My daughter went to return bottles at this location it said they opened at 8:30 she got there and there was already a line out the door and people with trucks unloading a lot of bottles there should be a limit and people that don’t live in Connecticut shouldnt be returning bottles here something needs to be done everytime I go there it’s the same thing

It's really getting ridiculous at every returns center I've gone to. A lot of non Ct residents are hoisting up here. I'd been carrying 2 bags of bottles around in my car for two weeks. Because every time I went by one, the line was out the wazoo! This location was no different. The only difference was that I had the time this Saturday, and I wanted those bags out my car. I stood on line for at least an hour, along with many many others. A lot of whom had very few bags. But there were others with TRUCKLOADS of bottles. Literal uhaul trucks. The hour I stood there, we watched one guy unloading his truck the entire time. JUST UNLOADING! crazy! It's to the point that a lot of us were saying this is the last time we'll do this. I might have to agree. Have an express line. Or better yet, have a faculty just for those large bulk truckloads, so people like me with just a couple weeks worth of bottles can be in and out. People say oh go to the grocery store, but a lot of the street bottle collectors keep those held up. It's really ridiculous now. I'm going to try orange, CT facility. Hope the out of staters aren't going that far up. An hour for eight bucks refund is crazy work. Never again. I have one star because once we got to the door entrance they ushered us right to a machine. One guy took one of my bags and went in back. They didn't speak English well so we weren't sure what exactly was happening. But i guess it's how they speed things up by doing 2 bags at once. Also when I had my receipt I didn't know where to go, as busy as they were, a guy politely escorted me to the machine by the entrance door, and motioned for me to scan my receipt and wait for my refund to be disbursed out. I appreciated that, but was glad to be out of there.

I went there yesterday afternoon, And I got the ticket. And When I have gone to scan it, The Ticket was denied. And I got it right from the machine. And I asked a few employees To help me with it and they said the money was already Been received. And I asked them if they can renew a ticket of the same amount and They also said they couldn’t. This is beyond ridiculous. These employees didn’t help me at all with my problem. Bad service, Bad reputation. This should shut down if this stealing continues. Also it’s very unsanitary. It’s barely maintained cleaned. I’ve been there for a year and I kid you not the building just gets worse and worse. It’s almost like no one cleans there.

Went @around 2ish on a weekday had 2 lines express and truck loads..after over 1/2 of line not moving same machines being used by same women grabbing bags from back of building over and over finally found some one who worked there and could speak English to stop them for a while and move the line ugh

Everything is great about this place except the organization from management. I get it you are in business to make money, but are you following state and local guidelines for the amount a person can return in a single day? Are connecticut residents getting priority?

Id give onell and his team 5 stars . But until he checks ids like Fred does at his little return its too hard for someone like me with a few bags (4 medium bags ) to get in when there's the U hauls that are packed are there all damn day. Just went to go and now there's 2 damn lines one out each gate and not enough machines

Truly miss the old location, it was quick and efficient. This new location is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t think I remember people coming in truck before and if they did, they line was still moving. They need new staff that’s fair and attentive. How are there 3 trucks able to load their bottles when there are 5 machines I’ve currently been standing with my bottle for about an hour. And it hasn’t moved in 20 mins. PLEASE DO BETTER!!!!!

Went at 8:00am. Those that were waiting were box trucks & vans (out of state plates) had piles of contractor bags, waiting for door to open. no place to unload my 4 bags, definitely not for residential community service.

The line went fast. It's a easy process to deposit the bottles. I'm grateful for the help of an employee there. Thank you

This place was great at first but now EVERY single day the place is loaded with box trucks completely full of bags of cans. Like 25-30 or more GIANT bags per truck. It takes them literal hours and hours to do their business and it makes pretty much everyone else wait. Which means you have to dedicate an ENTIRE DAY to using this recycling center. Change the policy please. I think a lot of these trucks are not local. possibly from other states. town of Stratford residents should be prioritized.

This place is very disorganized. They are supposed to have “express” line but people with multiple huge bags go in that line but carts are not allowed when those huge bags have more stuff than those carts. The employee Anthony was very rude, i understand is probably not the greatest job to have to deal with people but if he is not fit for the job maybe he should find something else to do. Maybe organize better with signs. Also this employee said they buy the bottles, well yes they do but we pay every-time we buy a bottle and the state reimburse these companies for those bottles they “buy”’

This place doesn't have professional staff. They work better with friends and family. They tell you they close at 4:30, but you arrive at 3:00 and it's already closed to the public, but their friends let them in.

The treatment of those who work there is horrible. They treat people like abused dogs and everyone is so offensive.

This place sucks, I went on Saturday 5/24 at 3:45. I was pumped no line out front, only to find the gate locked. There was a car waiting for over 10 min for someone to let them out the gate. When we asked the worker what time they close on Saturdays she puts up 3 fingers. The guy behind me says but I called and they said 4:30. The website and google all say 4:30. They apparently close whenever they feel like it. Also beware they have roaches inside. I saw it last time I went there.

This place sucks every since the original people that frist opened and worked here nothing had been the same I've been waiting in this line for Ober an hour this place is open after hours when it's supposed to be closed so funny stuff is going on come to this place after 5 and they are here loading up bags for the next day .

Don’t even know if the owner there anymore, it’s seems like a scam now they help you with your bags and etc but the money don’t be accurate with the amount of bottles you bring especially if you’ve been here before and know how much money you usually get from a certain amount of bottles. Feels like a scam because one of the workers goes to the back and grabs a receipt claiming is the one from the machine but the receipt dispenser is in your face so yea tbh I feel like they’re scamming people now so be careful please

Not what it used to be. Seems not run by the original group. Now it's slow, has broken machines, and fewer people to assist. Gives priority to certain people, groups, and trucks and vans filled (sometimes from NY) providing them with an exclusive entrance and use of one of the machines, while two are broken and lines form for the others. Once through it all it's still an easy experience where items are speedily collected, sorted, and cash is dispensed.

I called beforehand to check which cans were accepted, the gentleman was very helpful. Once I got to place, there was a really long line with people having bins full. I only had one bag. The gentleman who I spoke to prior on the phone (later found out his name was Onell) who worked there was able to get me in & out within 2 mins! The fastest service ever! I definitely will come back! Very helpful! A++

I haven’t had a problem with this place until I went on a Saturday. They can’t handle long lines many of us waited over 2 hours. they skim bottles for themselves off the machine from the back and they let people they know skip the line. The people they know emptied truckloads of bottles.

Hello, my name is Dorian and this by far the most exceptional recycling center that I have visited. Onell was exemplary and insightful about the center. He explained the hours and how the facility functions. He offered guidance and was helpful. I was also assisted by a woman named Diana who was phenomenal and helping me during the process. Quick and efficient. Get them some raises and compensation because I’m definitely coming back. 5 stars!!!!

Quick edit since you responded… very clearly in the photos you can see that the cans I’m talking about were not High Noons, I understood when you told me that I couldn’t be paid for those, I was okay with that. In the photos you can see this is an energy drink that clearly has CT on the top of the can so I should have been paid for them. So I didn’t want to sit and argue with the people there but I do want to say that a bunch of my cans were not accepted and I went back to my car and looked them up and they very clearly have the CT deposit on them. There was more than 30 of these cans in the bags I brought. I have a picture attached here as well to show the CT deposit. Jut annoyed that they chose not to pay me for these.

Save all your cans/bottles and ONLY go here! The place is so clean and the employees are so nice and have great personalities! You get money for ALL your cans even craft beers that you get nothing for at the regular deposits. Plus you just dump them all at once, don't even have to deal with one by one. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could!

Super efficient, facility is clean. Staff is extremely helpful... machines are the fastest ever....went here on opening day and returned 6 weeks later to that same environment. As a single mom, we collect to help with our expenses & not having to be aggravated in the process is a Huge Plus.... no lines, no waiting... (5) 30 gallon bags returned in less than 10 mins! Highly recommended ✌🏽💯

This facility is great and the technology makes bottle return fun and easy. I used to hate sorting cans and bottles. You do not need to sort here. The machine will do it for you. If you have many bags, you can borrow a cart from inside to assist carrying the bags in the facility. You dump all into the hoper and the machine will do the rest. Once you are done the machine prints out a ticket and you cash in at a unit by the exit. Staff is really friendly. Will definitely be returning.

I am the Treasurer of a local Pop Warner league. One of our cheer teams held a bottle and can redemption drive. We selected this redemption center to turn in the cans/bottles. When I tell you, the staff here are so friendly, helpful and task oriented, it is no lie. The manager and his employees quickly set us up at a machine to redeem at all the while helping to unload our cars. Any questions we had were addressed quickly. They even helped us to empty the bags while my partner was making another trip back for a second load. Staff aside, the machines they use are in great working order and got what I believe to be a huge job done quickly and accurately. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Our league will definitely be using this center in the future!

I came across this Bottles/Cans Return in Stratford that is open to the public. Very clean, fast,friendly location. I wasn't familiar with their recycling system and as soon as I pulled up some of the most friendly employees were there too greet me and show me how easy the process. I received my receipts and the cashier gave me my cash and I was on my way out. I hope this location is going to stay because it's well needed.

The staff is absolutely phenomenal and very hard-working. The service is fast and effortless. The staff does basically all the work and they do a fantastic job. I’ve been coming to this place for about 8 years if not, more. even at times when I’ve came at the last minute, they’ve been so cooperative and kind about it. So a big thank you to everyone there. My family and I appreciate you all and your hard work!
