My most recent visit to the Thousand Oaks VW service department was atrocious. I brought my car in because a yellow warning light indicated a potential issue with the battery. I dropped the car off around 7:45 a.m., and by 11:00 a.m., I still hadn't received any updates. When I called, Frank informed me that the car had just entered the service bay. Around 12:30 p.m., I received a call stating that they were unable to determine the issue. I was told that a full breakdown and diagnostic would be required at a cost of $2,200. Even then, the diagnostic might not reveal the problem. If it didn’t, VW would need to send in a specialist technician to conduct further assessments—presumably at additional cost. If they did identify the issue, the repair would also be an added expense—unless the problem turned out to be the battery itself, in which case it might be covered. This car is just over four years old with approximately 80,000 miles. The idea of spending $2,200 just to maybe find the problem is completely unacceptable. I expected higher-quality service, reliable diagnostics, and straightforward answers from VW. I am sorely disappointed. To add insult to injury, the service center charged me $239 simply to tell me they didn’t know what was wrong.

I brought my VW here for a 100k mile service and to check a warning light. I won’t be coming back. Here’s why: Poor communication - I had to call multiple times to speak with my assigned customer rep. When I did speak with them, I was passed from rep to rep and there was obvious confusion about what services were to be performed. I also had to request a video from the service team outlining the proposed service. Service - the service team performed the bare minimum. The vehicle was returned with leaves and a rat nest under the hood when two seconds of attention would have been enough to remove it. Invoice - the customer rep added a $300 line item that I did not approve nor did we discuss during our conversations. All said, VW Thousand Oaks preferred to nickel and dime me and perform the minimal amount of work vs building my trust and earning a loyal customer. I recommend looking for a small business that performs service on VWs and giving them an opportunity to earn your trust as opposed to being treated like another number at VW Thousand Oaks.

Normally, I have a decent experience here besides how expensive they are. About 6 months ago I had an oil change and some warranty work don’t that required them to drop my gas tank. After the appointment I have been experiencing both oil leaks and have had to replace the fuel pump on the interior of my tank. Volkswagen claims the warranty work where they took the tank off had nothing to do with the fail of the fuel pump on the interior after the repair was done. All in all I have spent $900 to replace the fuel pump and will have to spend another $700 to fix the oil leaks. They claim no part but it’s awfully coincidental that the only two thing on my car they touched are having issues and need to be replaced. One of the service employees told me that they would see if netting would repair and I never received a call back and went elsewhere for repairs. Either way I won’t do any business out of this dealership anymore. There are cheaper options that specialize in European cars in Thousand Oaks that will use OEM parts and charge half as much on the labor. Not to mention they aren’t going to break your stuff and tell you to pay to fix it.

From a test drive to the purchase, the employees here were top notch. I never once felt pressured to buy, loved the transparency when talking costs, and they really listened to what we wanted...so much so that in the end we walked away with two cars instead of one. I cannot say enough good things about the people at VW Thousand Oaks!!

I had an excellent experience at Volkswagen Thousand Oaks about a week ago. Paul in sales went above and beyond to help me find the perfect car for my growing family. Even after the sale was final he was quick to answer my questions I had after the purchase. Adam in finance was quick and efficient, securing a great deal for me without any hassle. A week later, I noticed something about the car that I wasn't thrilled about, but there was zero hesitation when I brought it back to get looked at; Katie and Mike in the service department took care of everything promptly and professionally. Overall, everyone was great, and we are very happy with our purchase!!

Sales: unfortunately another scam dealership. They gave us a price in writing. When my partner showed me the price I told her it cannot include tax. She reached back out to them, they confirmed multiple times by text message and phone call that it indeed include tax, but they would not send her an offial quote other than what they gave her which was suspicious . I called them, and asked them again to make sure, the manager said yes it does include tax and registration, and we don't qoute without all the fees. When I pressed him a little more, since price was too good to be true, he finally caved and said oh, that is after your down payment. However that was not mentioned anywhere on the quote and if you are not versed and an expert you can miss these details, and be scammed. Avoid any dealer that lies like VW thousand oaks

The dealer is cheating on the price of the car. I came in to pick up a car for $15,118. And the dealer gave an offer for the car more then $22000. This is a blatant lie! Don't come to this dealer as they are deceitful, use the services of honest dealers better!

John Garcia is THE BEST VW Service Advisor and has been taking great care of my Volkswagen for over 14 years. I bought my car from Neftin Volkswagen (now renamed Volkswagen of Thousand Oaks) and will drive 52 miles roundtrip for servicing, though there are several dealerships nearby plus authorized VW repair shops. But Neftin is noticeably superior in their quality, attention, service, and care for my car. They are very professional, helpful, and knowledgeable -- I won't go anywhere else if I have a choice. Still a family-owned business where integrity, and honesty are key factors here. They also have an adjacent Neftin Mazda dealership and service department on the lot next door.

Very friendly staff, not pushy. Got nice SUV for a good price. This Tiguan Limited has keyless entry, push button start, Apple car play and Android Auto, leather steering wheel, electronic parking brake, upgraded all weather floor mats, first aid kit, accessory kit, roof rails, 17" alloys, four wheel disc, 200HP turbo engine, and more. Great vehicle for the price. This is the 2017 model carried into 2018 because people still wanted the smaller size instead of the larger 2018 Tiguan model.
