Never lived at a place that charged you to dump your trash. I'm certain they have a long list of reasons to do so.

Been dumping trash here for over 10 years. Smells awful, but that's what trash smells like. Friendly staff, areas for trash, paint, yard debris, recycling, oil, batteries, house appliances, computer equipment and lots more. Wish I didn't have to pay when I already pay Chesterfield taxes, but after what it costs in other states, $7-$15 depending on what you dump is not bad. Besides, nothing in life is free and they need to save money for more land once this one fills up. Returned to get rid of some construction debris. They have reorganized the area and it looks as lot better. 1) Recycle is on the right so you don't have to wait in line. 2) Construction debris has a particular location. Pay attention to attendants and they will direct you where to dump. 3) Oil drop off has moved, so not sure where it goes, yet. Glad to see it has improved. Smell is still bad for those in the vicinity of the dump.

Pull up to the farthest Shack/scale. Trailers over a certain size charged more. Don't toss garbage or lumber in brush area- easy way to get banned from center. Brush is brush!

**Updated 04/30/25 THE RECYCLING AREA HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THE GATE AREA!! I'm so excited that the recycling bins have been restored to the front so - no waiting in line - Yayyyyy! I was a bit puzzled as to how to exit but if you perceive that area as a loop (instead of following the road around to exit), double back to the small striped area with stripes with EXIT painted on the ground. Approaching the barriers on the main "road" won't make them lift. A little signage wouldn't hurt but hey - the bins have returned to the front!! ***Updated 12/10/24 really miss the recycling bins being up by the gate but I'm told the bins will return once the construction/paving is done.)*** They FINALLY (several months ago) moved the recycling bins to just inside the gate and eliminated waiting in line behind folks waiting to pay disposal fees . Long overdue but I am so happy as I'm in there at least twice a week. I've gotten to know several of the site staff over the past 14 years - they have answers if you have questions

Theyll take anything here, I drop off all my unwanted children every couple months.

Stop blocking the straight lane. That's absolutely ridiculous. Don't need to turn right leaving the dump. The intersection is plenty big enough and long enough for a normal truck and personal trailer to go across. It should fit from edge of Turning lane threw to edge of turning lane. If your driving something larger then fits there they need to get a ticket. Used to be the dump was easy to deal with. All your safety crap you have installed it's easier to go find a dirt road and dump stuff. People can't lift everything 5ft off the ground to get over those rails.

Take your business to the northern convenience center, Richmond’s (if they don’t ID), or somewhere south or west. These people are penny pinchers. I’ve renovated an entire house here and never been charged what they charge. Some counties charge $3-$5 for whatever you want!!! I dropped off WOOD today and was told that I was dropping off construction materials and was charged $15 dollars!! $15!!!! They do not care, they charge whatever on any given day. I would 100% take your business 15 down the road to the northern convenience center or another county

The people said I needed proof of residency to pay them 7 dollars for 7 trash bags to throw it away and the old man in the window was very rude

Went to dump a load from MY HOUSE and they declined it saying that it’s a contractors job. I borrowed a leave vacuum from an old buddy to use at my house and they declined it saying that it’s from a contractors job. Drove over an hour, waste of my time. Not pleased at all.

It was a little crowded, however the cashier handled each customer quickly. I dropped off our Christmas tree for no charge.

Hours say open until 6pm daily, yet the gate is closed well before 6pm. So then the hours should change. Got there exactly at 6pm and all the workers were leaving. Then, the rude manager tried to remind of the hours maybe he's the one that needs the reminder 6PM not 545pm!

This place has always been on point, when I first moved to chesterfeild I had to go back home and get a piece of mail with my address on it because I still had a richmond address on my ID but besides that I have never had any issues or complaints with this place

I appreciate this option. I live alone and do not create enough trash to warrant the prices these trash companies charge. It takes no time at all to go to the dump, throw my trash in the nicely set up dumpters. Thank you!

Very convenient and cheap to dispose of paint, broken appliances, etc. free to dispose of regular house waste.

Pretty clean and organized for a land fill. Went to recycle a bunch of cardboard and all six bins were extremely full so it made it difficult, but doable.

Easy to use, little dumpy but it makes up for it in ease of use and well ordering to drop off trash.

Been going there 35 years, just about half my life and never a negative experience. Choose your battles, if you show up at peak periods you'll wait a bit and if it's been rainy there will be some mud when offloading brush and such. Layout is logical given the site's footprint and staff is always nice when you bother to treat them nicely. Typically some nice banter with others while offloading and folks often glad to help older, fellow offloaders who seem to need a bit. Fortunately I am still on the helping end.

The lady at the desk was so sweet to us! We had never been to a dump before and did not know what to expect but she was very helpful! Well definitely visit this location again!

Very busy today and not enough spaces open to accommodate the customers. We didn't wait long, but by the time we were finished there were about 6 vehicles lined up and waiting. Whatever the case, it's worth $7 to unload a bunch of junk !

It was terrible the line was out on RT 10 not because it was backed up inside but backed up at the pay station. It seems to be a on going weekly problem when thomas is working the booth. It seems like he could care less about doing he's job. People are getting highly agitated .we pay to use and our taxes you would think it would be better service around .

Worst customer service No one helps you which I don't expect. I find hit hard to beilieve the county pays people to just direct traffic. Manager on site is rude and disrespectful. The dump is set up by the looks of a toddlers backyard playground.
Feb 26, 2021 -
Why do you need to pay for the dump? The dump is a county resource that is funded by community taxes. I have NEVER had to pay for the dump (not in Northern VA (Loudoun, Prince William), Winchester, Virginia Beach, etc). FYI: Appliances =$10 #NotCool

Really need to have an express lane for businesses kind of like an easy pass or something. 45+ minutes in line to dump is getting outrageous. Otherwise it's a fine place

Very acessible road and design. Everytime I go to the recycling area -- it is clean. They also have an area to dump used car oil and old electronics. Their hours and spaces to park while unloading is also generous.

Be grateful that it only cost $7. My Dad said to cost $40 in East Moline Illinois. So it smells like garbsge. Get over it

Easy access. People there help you unload your vehicle if you need them too. Price is very affordable. I recommend this place.
