So, I’m a travel nurse and was on my pursuit home on an eight hour drive back home when two hours in, my Jeep made a “jitter” feeling and completely quit accelerating. I pulled over on the side of the highway, U-HAUL trailer and all, and dialed Bert’s Garage for help as they were the closest repair shop around the area. They towed me within twenty minutes of my call, looked at my car within the hour, and had me out an hour after for only $242 including everything. For being out in the middle of nowhere, knowing no one, and being in quite the vulnerable position I was in, I was extremely taken care of and want to thank Bert’s Garage for not taking advantage of me, and fixing my problem quick so I could get back on the road. Berts garage has been my company's go to place for SEMI truck repairs for a couple of years now. I have always been spoke to with concern and respect...but they are very busy and wasn't able to do the repairs needed the last 2 visits but both times berts still took the time to put my truck on computer and tell me what my issues were and recommended the best place to get the repairs done. They even offered a tow if it was needed. I will definitely continue to try Berts Garage 1st whenever im in the area and in need of a shop.

Was traveling from North Carolina to Ohio and was on a deadline to make it there, had some car issues and found Bert's Garage. They got us right in and back on the road in no time. The ladies in the office also were absolutely amazing. So happy we found this place because our experience was wonderful.
We were stranded on busy I-77 N by the side of the road. We were eventually towed to Bert’s. What fantastic customer service from Brittany who made numerous calls on our behalf, to the mechanic who within 5 minutes diagnosed the issue. John, the tow truck driver let us ride for a 3 1/2 tow in the extended cab truck. All super friendly and customer service oriented. They will take care of you!
Well, NOT IMPRESSED with the mechanics here at all. They broke our grear shift end. They never even communicated the fact they did this.
They had sold our purchased tires, however they did get others on.
I would like to add, the gals that work the front were a 10 plus with everything.
I was traveling from out of state and my truck DEF system put my truck into limp mode. I brought it by Bert‘s garage in Hillsville Va. They took it right away and within a couple of hours. Got me back on the my road. The price was very reasonable and the service was excellent. I highly recommend them.
What a great place! My daughter was traveling alone on a snowy day and hit a pothole. She pulled in to try and get her tire repaired and they topped it off for her and sent her on her way within 10 minutes! Thank you!

Bert’s Garage came and saved us off the side of the Interstate in the middle of the night when nobody else would. Our tow driver was so friendly and nice. He made my little girls feel instantly safe and relieved after being scared from being on the tight shoulder for hours. They got us safe to a hotel and had our truck fixed shortly the next day. I’m so grateful. We were able to quickly resume our trip after a terrible night. They were very honest and helpful.
My Grandkids broke down with alternator problem called these guys explained we were from. Ohio and they said bring it we will help you. They had it done by about 11am. And we were back on the road.

Bert’s Towing Company helped us out in the middle of the night when a deer ran into my car traveling back to Florida from NY. This company is very professional and nice. We were able to ride in the towing vehicle to the hotel. Mr. Brown went the extra mile to make sure the hotel had vacancy for us prior to exiting the two truck. We are thankful for Bert’s towing. We broke down whole traveling. We were pulling a trailer with equipment on. They came right away. We had to have the trailer towed also. They delivered us to the transmission garage promptly. Great and friendly service.
We were on vacation coming through Hillsville, VA, when our alternator started scretching then died, then there was FIRE. We safely got off the interstate and was directed to contact Bert's. It was after hours and we were safe, so we set up for a tow the next morning. Driver arrived, got us hooked up and in his truck. Got to the shop, parts ordered, work accomplished and we were on our way in less than 2 hours from pick up time!! Brittany in the office was very personable and professional. Highly recommend Bert's.
I need my axles checked and my coolant system pressure tested. They said they had openings, so I dropped it off at 8 AM on Tuesday they said they were open Tuesday Wednesday and Friday. I told them I needed my vehicle back no later than Friday when I called Friday it appeared that they had just started looking at the vehicle, and asked me my opinion on whether I thought of the front or the rear axles need to be replaced. I brought it in for them to diagnose whether I need the fronts replaced and to check for a coolant issue. I called about 4 o’clock to arrange pick up for the vehicle and they were closed, this is the kind of service you get from Burt’s? We will see what they say Monday when I save my vehicle from them on Monday. Not pleased they came highly recommended and the guy who recommended them to me is off my Christmas list!
While travelling, my alternator went out at 7 PM, so I got a hotel room and asked for a recommendation. They highly recommended Bert's Garage, and I'm glad they did. I arrived at the shop at 7:40 AM and by 8 AM they had me diagnosed and had a part ordered. Once the part was delivered, I was on the road within 45 minutes.
Great service, fast and friendly. Fair pricing and did exactly what we needed. We were traveling through town when our van over heated late at night. We luckily made it to a hotel and called first Bert's thing in the morning. They came and towed it at 9am and had us back on the road by 11am. Can't thank you guys enough.
Needed transport back home from Wytheville to South Carolina after timing chain replacement- the failed cam sprocket had bent a couple valves. Nice 3 hour-58-minute ride, driver Mike was great, A/C worked great, reasonable considering the price of diesel fuel - sure wish I'd had AAA Gold, though.
We can't say enough about everyone at Bert's. We were traveling through the area pulling our 14000 lb 5th wheel when our turbo blew on our truck. They diagnosed and fixed our diesel truck and had us back on the road within 3 hours. They were amazing!!
Scott and his dad went out of their way to help us today and I can never express how truly grateful we are. Our truck and camper were totaled. He took my husband, myself, our 2 kids and 2 dogs back to his shop and they helped make sure we got a rental car since we were 5 hours from home. Traveling up I-77 in VA from SC at 10:45 on a Monday. I'm on my way to a job in Radford, VA. A couple of deer decided to try playing Frogger with my 8500lb F-250. Since I was running 70 mph, Bambi lost. He took out my grill, AC condenser and, at the time we thought, punctured the radiator. Bert's just happened to be at the exit I pulled off on to inspect the damage. Just dumb luck, I guess. But it definitely worked out to my advantage. They ordered the parts that morning promising to have me back on the road by Wednesday morning. Got a call from them at 14:30 on Tuesday telling me my truck was ready. And best of all, the radiator was fine. Didn't need replacing. I can see on the invoice where it was ordered and then removed. I wouldn't have known any different if they had installed it anyway. I left it with them because I had to get a rental and get to the job. The reason I didn't continue to drive it was because I saw what the mechanic and I both thought was coolant leaking behind the condenser.They could have totally charged me to install a $690 radiator that I didn't need. But they didn't. I just walked in with a busted truck at noon on Monday. And drove it back home to SC at noon on Wednesday. Very professional. Good work. Fast work, especially for a walk-in like that. (Even my mechanic at home takes a couple days just to get me in and get started!!) I would highly recommend Bert's. I'm glad I lucked into finding them. I just wish I didn't have to hit a deer to do it ... Now, on to the body work.
We we’re traveling on I77 and an object fell of the truck in front of us. We couldn’t maneuver the car fast enough to avoid hitting it. We ended up with a flat. We call Bert’s and the immediately took us in and we’re able to get a new tire on the car to get us back on the road! Great service and super friendly.
Absolutely a great experience. I broke down towing a car up Fancy Gap coming out of NC. I called them on Sunday evening and had a tow within 20 min. VERY reasonable price on towing. By the time I got to the shop the next morning they already had my truck in the shop and done. Again VERY reasonable repair rates. I would reccomend this place to ANYONE. Great people helpful and friendly!!!
