My vehicle has been sitting there for 6 days and I called today to find out why I haven’t heard anything and Lee said no one has looked at it !
I am pissed because they told me different when I dropped it off about when they would look at it.
Lee at Straight Arrow was top notch with customer service. I was stranded 6 hrs from home, alone, hauling an empty horse trailer, when my check engine light came on and my transmission went into limp mode. I called Derek at Cobra Diesel (another amazing customer service professional) and he recommended the guys at Straight Arrow. When Lee took my call, I could tell he was busy but he genuinely listened to my concerns, gave me a couple options, and after I was able to limp my rig over to their facility they immediately took it in, found the issue, over nighted the part and plan to have me back on the road by noon tomorrow. They even gave me a complementary ride to the hotel up the road. I wish I could give these guys 10 stars. I have never been treated so fairly and kind by those in the auto industry, but the guys at Cobra Diesel and Straight Arrow Transmission really sealed the deal of approval!
My vehicle was towed to Straight Arrow transmission. It was slipping gears, jumping up and down in rpms. Lucky for me it appears it was only low on transmission fluid. They checked it good for leaks, drove it and seems fine now. They run a good business and don’t try to sell you something you don’t need. Highly recommend them if you are having trouble.
Our family was traveling from Georgia to upstate New York and our transmission blew up. We called straight arrow first thing in the morning on Friday morning and they diagnosied it and then told us a total on how much it was gonna fix. They put us at the top of their list and told us it would be done by Tuesday. It took an extra day which was fine had back by Wednesday morning. They told us it would be right at 5k due to a whole new rebuild which is understandable, also our car is a Buick so of course more to fix. When they called to tell us it was ready the price was actually cheaper then they quoted us!! They kept us in the loop the whole time and had it done when they said it would be!! I have checked the reviews and the good out weigh the bad of this place and I’m not one to just let anyone work on my cars! This place was nothing but honest, fast, dependable, and all around amazing!! If something ever happened to my car again I would bring it back here! Also the parts and over all everything is warranty. I would recommend here over and over again!!! Awesome service and they saved my car!
Speaking for a very close family member and will back them up on this, DO NOT GO TO THEM UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR PERSONAL ITEMS TAMPERED WITH WHILE WAITING FOR YOUR REPAIR!!! THEY TOOK A PERSONAL TUNER LEFT INTO OUR TRUCK AND NOW ITS COSTING US FOR THE NEGLIGENCE!!! AND THE TRUCK IS STILL NOT FIXED!!!
All I can say is that these guys rock! I took a trip to see my sister in her new home, on my way the transmission in my 2014 Jeep Compass started to overheat. I finally got to her home limping my vehicle all the way. What should have been about 2 hour ride dragged on for over 5. Needless to say I needed help and quick.
We started with word of mouth, several people had said to call this local mechanic. When we did he said no way but said that Lee at Straight arrow transmission might be the guy.
I called and spoke with Lee, very nicely he told me that he was booked solid till the following week. After talking a bit he suggested I come by to check the fluids and go from there. I quickly limped up to his shop and explained that I had to go home the next day and it was a 6 hour trip without issues. Keeping my fingers crossed I left it in his hands.
One of the men there, Robert, took it out to drive but didn't find any issues. I explained it drove fine straight but mountains heated it up. He took it out again and up a very long hill. Needless to say it acted up and he saw what I dealt with on my trip. They called me to let me know and said they could change the filter and oil in the transmission and possibly that would fix the problems. They said I could have it back in the morning should all go well. They were good on their word!! Although these guys had tons of work to do, they still were able to squeeze me in so that I could get home safely! I can't say enough of the kindness they gave to a complete stranger and the care they took to make sure it was safe for me to drive!! Thank you Lee and Robert!! I made it home thanks to you!!
Sorry I did not post this earlier. These guys are highway savers, and straight as an arrow. Transmission went out, and in two days it was fixed, and for the best price possible. After many months car runs like a top.

Had car troubles on a road trip and my roadside assistance towed me to Straight Arrow. They were able to work me into their schedule and take care of my issues. I’m just passing through town but they treated me like a regular customer.
They are experts in there field. They cater to people that want it done correctly not cheaply. I would let them crack open my transmission before a dealer much less buying a Jasper. Especially if I plan on keeping the vehicle a long time, and don't want to repeat failure.
Estimate was " Around one thousand dollars" of course it was more....1,275.00. Argued that he said "At least one thousand dollars" I was listening very closely since I would be footing the bill. I remember EXACTLY what he said. Charged over double what the same parts cost on the internet. Put 9 dollar a quart transmission fluid in in stead of the 2.75 a quart that the manufacturer recommends. 30 quarts!NEVER go there!!
WARNING!!!! THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT SMART AND I ALMOST GOT A TICKET BECAUSE OF THEM!!!!! I have a 2010 Suzuki and they wrote on my rejection that I had a 2017 Chevy! NOTHING ALIKE!!! I’m very thankful the cop was nice but these people are just ignorant, and I WOULD NOT TRUST THEM WITH MY VEHICLE!
They could have sold me a new trans module..instead they called the manufacturer and discovered that "just plug it in and start..will reboot itself." $500 savings. These folks get my trade from now on.
Gave estimate for $1900 and handed me a bill for $2900. Put wrong clutch in twice and billed me. Destroyed my flywill and billed me for new one. Had my vehicle 3wks and I had to be one to call for updates. Tried to work out deal on the bill and first thing out his mouth was I'll just keep your truck. So would not, do not go there. Cutthroat dishonest, not reputable, and unreckamendable. P. S. Said estimate was cash estimate. If card used add 3%.
If you bought a car with a CVT type transmisson ... this is the place to go to have it fixed! Better warranty and price than from the Dealership and they stand behind their work!
My transmission broke down while traveling from SC to MD and I could not have ended up at a better place. They got my early 90s truck in the shop the next morning and I was on my way the next day. The price was fair, reflective of a quality repair and rebuild. They even drove me to the local hotel. I hope I never need to rebuild a transmission, but if I do I'll be trying to get it done here.
