went in for an alignment and they charged an extra $90 labor to install a tie rod end that took another 10 minutes. I feel i was robbed. It's a shame a company like this operates in our community.
Russell’s Garage gave me Derren’s direct number. He was short on the phone and made me call back. When he did show up he quoted $150 for ~5 miles, demanded cash, refused a Visa on-site, and drove off—even after I called back & offered Zelle/Venmo/CashApp/Multiple Cards he wouldn't help me during my stressful situation.
Berts Garage on the other hand came immediately and did it for $100 and took my Visa. I HIGHLY Recommend you go to Berts Garage—NOT Derren @ Russell's Garage!
After hitting a bear on the interstate the State Police called this garage for tow service. Initially the man was very nice but then offered to tow us, with my four and two year olds in the car, on the tow truck to the next exit. Thankfully we lived close enough that someone was already on the way to pick us up and he agreed to wait. He towed the vehicle back to his shop and we had our repair shop come pick it up from there. Much to my surprise we were charged $1,200 for that tow (just back to his garage)?! Talk about highway robbery. I feel like I was taken advantage of for not knowing I could leave it there for my repair garage to get the next day. I do not recommend this shop
Our car had a bad fuel pump and now they are lying and saying we have an engine problem and low compression when I was driving the car a few minutes they are rude and disrespectful and lies for money they need real mechanics !!!!
My 23 & 20 year old sons were driving to the beach for a family vacation The van broke down on the interstate at 3:30 am. At 4:30 am a Darren from Russells came to tow them. He towed them to a gas station and when my boys asked them to help, he basically told them he wouldn’t do it on a Saturday and left them. They told them they were 5 hours from home and 5 hours from the beach. He didn’t care. I have never in my life been more pissed at another human and their lack of human decency than I was today. I truly hope he never has someone do to his family what he did to ours Darren, you need classes on human decency and compassion. I’m embarrassed for you and will pray for you that no one treats you as poorly as you treated my sons. I would NEVER recommend this place ever
My husband took my car to get the wheel bearing replaced, something YOU ALL TOLD ME NEEDED DONE. I can hear it when I reverse every single time. Plus I have a receipt from your shop that says that’s what my car needed. He goes to get that fixed, and you all tell him it’s not that, we needed a new tire, and proceeded to MOVE MY TIRE WITHOUT ASKING FIRST AND CHARGE US $45 TO DO SO. I COULD HAVE DONE IT MYSELF!! It’s not rocket science. Now I’m out the $45 that it literally costs for me to get another tire. So today I spent $90, $45 of which was UNNECCESSARY. Crooks, not worth my time or money ever again. No wonder none of my family has good things to say about you all.
Extremely satisfied with the service and very polite and explained everything about my car to me. This was my first visit there and will definitely use them for all my mechanical needs
Took pickup in for fuel gauge repair and oil change and while there the mechanic noticed all my rotors and brakes were shot and my emergency brake was hanging on all the time. So glad he noticed this to make my vehicle safe to drive and more fuel efficient since the brakes aren’t dragging any more. Very pleased with all the service I get at Russell’s. Friendly and very knowledgeable mechanics.Would recommend to anyone.
My encounter was because of a traffic accident resulting in my car being towed by Russell's. As unfortunate as that was, the flatbed driver, Mr. Shoup was a gem of a guy. The owner / operators of the garage were fantastically helpful and courteous as they could. If my experience with them, as TOTAL stranger, with a totaled car, is their normal manner, these guys are the real deal. A credit to the towing world.
They are the best,there crew are very knowledgeable and fix your problems on your vehicles and explain what there doing as well I highly recommend them to anyone. They have fixed vehicles for us that others couldn't
My husband and I were very impressed with Russell’s Garage! They took us right in and everyone working there was very professional, courteous and kind. We will definitely be taking our business to this garage in the future. They have a waiting area and I would feel comfortable going there myself as a woman. It’s so refreshing to find a professional mechanics shop in our small town of Hillsville😊 bonus there’s a NAPA store right next door!
Russell's is a great garage and we've been using them for 20 years Yes they are all very knowledgeable and friendly but for some reason it takes months and months to get the vehicles back I don't know why but I really wish y'all could fix that
We just moved to Hillsville. New friends suggested us Russell's garage. Just finish coming from this place after marking an appointment. What a pleasent experience this was great friendly service. They treated us as if we were long time customer's. So guess what I'm deffently their customer from now on
Straight to the point. Great prices. When they finish with your car you’ll know it was done right. My last car repair changed for a motor mount went to dealership n found out it wasn’t done. They will work with you whenever possible for instance oil pan replace this time battery next time for the broke like me. Apples for apples they are rt on the money and with Ricky really good work!
Excellent and quick service for and emergency stop. Had a tire coming loose with stripped lug nuts. Squeezed us in and out in no time even checked all the other tires just to be safe.
My Daughter, 5yr old Grandson and me were traveling to FL from MD And had car trouble. The Gentlemen there- including the parts guy were awesome in helping us and getting us on the road as quickly as they possibly could. We are so Thankful to your professionalism, your expertise, your kindness you are truly blessings in our paths!
Ricky Nelson runs this garage as Great as his father did. They know what they are doing. Alot of experience in the field . I never worry about it being fixed properly 😄😄
What a blessed experience. We were up in the area on vacation and our alternator started going out. We called them at 11:15 and they closed at 12:00 on Saturday. We got there just before 12 and they got us going very quickly. They only charged us a small amount of additional labor to stay open to get us repaired They noticed that the serpentine belt was shot and since they had to take it off to replace the alternator they replaced that as well for no additional labor. Very knowledgeable and very reasonable. If I lived close by they would be my only repair shop. I highly recommend.
My son got his truck stuck in ditch on a Saturday morning. Guys showed up in less than 30 minutes and got the deal done in no time. Super nice people to work with. Would highly recommend.
We had some van trouble come up on our way to a family vacation, found this business in Google. The owner was friendly, worked us in, and got us back on the road that same morning without taking advantage of our destination. Go here!
Wife and daughter were on way to PA from SC when the rear brakes gave out on her vehicle. Not knowing whom to call she had me look up garages. I found Russell's to be open on Sat am. I called them and explained the situation. They came quickly, picked up the vehicle, repaired it and brought it back to her at the hotel within 4 hours.
She said that the people she talked to at the garage as well as the tow driver were very friendly and willing to help with the situation for as inexpensive as they could yet making sure the vehicle received the needed repairs and was safe to make it back home.
Thank you Russell's garage for taking care of my family in this emergency on a Saturday morning.
Have a waiting list. Normally very professional work. Did not notice a bad ball joint when they aligned my wheels. It was worse than when I took it in. Their alignment person has been sick. I had my car fixed and realigned elsewhere.
NICEST PEOPLE EVER!!!!! Had diesel trouble while pulling the horse trailer w/ 2 ponies back from Ohio and stopped at the gas station in hillsville ( kangaroo maybe?) Super nice staff called nelson russell he came right over checked it out figured out the problem got what he needed and had me back on the road- and was incredibly fairly priced considering my circumstances!! Neighbors even brought me a bale of hay to keep the horses on the rig busy while they were fixing my fuel filter. :) Go Team Hillsville!! Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to need help! :)
