This company is the worst! The turnover rate is so high they can’t keep up with emptying the trash cans or filling propane tanks. If you call customer service and ask for the district manager to call you back, your request is ignored. Save yourself the hassle and just spend your money with a company that actually cares about their customers.
This pilot & the flying j about an mile down the road are one of my favorite truck stops in this VA area. No complaints other than the shower heads. Too much grime for me to ignore this visit. Not bashing just being informative. Hopefully u guys can get new ones! 🙏
We stop by this Flying J Travel Center almost every time we travel north, mainly to use the RV station. It’s a convenient and familiar stop for us, especially when we need to flush out the tanks and clear out the drain pipes. The location works well for our route, which is why we continue to come back.
The main downside is the water hookup. Most of the time, the water is not working, which makes it frustrating when you’re relying on it specifically for flushing tanks and cleaning out the system. When it does work, it’s very helpful, but the inconsistency is definitely something that could be improved.
Another small challenge is getting out with a trailer. The exit can be a bit tight and requires careful maneuvering, especially during busy hours, but it can be done with patience.
Overall, the travel center is fine and serves its purpose. It’s a dependable stop for fuel and RV needs, and with more reliable water hookups, it would easily be a better experience.
Discrimination and refusal of service
I am an African Somali American citizen, and today I had a very disturbing experience at this Pilot location.
I was standing in line at the cashier named Apttie, waiting my turn. When I noticed another cashier was empty, I walked over to that register. She said, “I told customers who want to check out to come to me.” I calmly told her that I did not hear her. She then replied, “Then I will not ring you up. Go to the other cashier.”
I asked her why she was refusing to serve me, and she gave no reason at all, only repeating that she would not check me out.
I asked for the manager. She pointed to the other cashier and said the manager was there and could hear us. The manager was watching the situation with a strange, dismissive look. When I explained that the employee refused to serve me and that I simply told her I did not hear her, the manager accused me of being rude. I told her I had not been rude and had barely spoken, and she told me to “be quiet” because she was checking out another customer.
This was humiliating, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable. As a truck driver, we already deal with enough stress on the road, and coming to Pilot only to be treated with more hostility by employees is very disappointing.
I own a trucking company with 15 trucks, and based on this experience, I will be ending all business with Pilot. I hope corporate management reviews the cameras and takes this incident seriously.

The worst truck stop I have ever encountered. I got in line for the shower at 5:40 AM, and there were 5 people in front of me. At 7:50 AM, I was told the next one was ready, and it had already been 2 hours. The managers yelled at me when I tried to understand the reason for the slow line and whether the showers were working. I asked how much longer I would have to wait, and they shouted back that they didn't know and weren't trying to help at all.
The attitude of the management did it for me! Well one side still works he says! Well that doesn't fuel both of my tanks and it's not my responsibility to fix it seeing how I didn't break it!!! Was trying to top off my tanks for the day,didn't need fuel was just taking advantage of the pumps not having lines 3 trucks deep with drivers taking their 30 at the pumps! And how,just how do you drive off without hanging up the pump! Trucking needs a purge and a reset! And customer service is a thing of the past! Time to go back to using Love's! The one at this exit is the smallest and trashiest ever by the way! I use this one as my go to in the area,but not anymore. Wrong day for the attitude.
Easy Off and Easy On Interstate I-95... I frequently stop here to get two 24 ounce cups of Flying J Intense Caffeine Coffee. All of the Flying J team members that I interacted with were very pleasant, courteous, friendly, and happy to help!
One of the most worst flying J I never seen. Yesterday evening, I fuel to pump 29. I put my T-Chek card, answer to all the question pump asking, put fuel in my truck like everytime. After finish to fuel, I open my reward app to see if my points is on my card, it's not. So I park the truck and go inside to try to have my points for the fuel. The ladies to the cashier cannot find the bill for the fuel so she call the manager (Anthony). After a few verification, he have a bug in the system and he write on the bill like if I put 31 gallons but it's not charge on T-Chek card. So I ask to Anthony if we can pay manually with the company card. He said to me "you have reach the limit for the fuel today" it's impossible because I put 31 gallons in my truck. I call my company, he's check in the system what's wrong with my card but everything is good, there is still a lot of looseness on my T-Chek. So the manager threatened me to call the cops or a collection agency when the problem came from his system and not from my card. After fixing all that shit, I want to go take a shower, nobody to clean the shower so we wait for a long time in the waiting room and he have a lot of guest in waiting. I go see the cashier in front to ask if he's can send someone to clean the shower, the employee doesn't care about that and he said, you have to wait. Me and my company's gonna make a complain about the behavior of Anthony, the manager, and how he treated me during the bug with the system
This place stole $40. From me. I asked for a carton of cigarettes. Cost is $5.66 a pack x 10 packs is $56.60. I put a 100 dollar bill on counter amd she gave me 3 dollars in change. I said.. thats not the price. The manager said i cant return cigarettes. I argued and all she kept saying was....i cant return them over amd over. I said ...i never touched them. I never left store. And im not returning them. I am refusing them for incorrect price. I left store because i have concert to attend but they will regret stealing my money. Total trash business
Easy location and clean facilities - was able to get free parking but there are lots of choices off this exit.
This one has nice staff and little details that make it nicer. Big lounge & well stocked!

I am extremely disappointed with the treatment I received from the night shift general manager during a recent visit to your store. My family and I were asked to leave after one of the food items was accidentally knocked over. While I understand accidents can cause inconvenience, I felt the situation was handled in an unnecessarily aggressive and disrespectful manner.
I later called to apologize and offered to clean up the mess or cover the cost. However, the manager interrupted me, made an unfounded accusation, and then abruptly ended the call. I found this behavior to be completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
I’m bringing this to your attention in hopes that it will be addressed appropriately. I’ve always enjoyed coming to your establishment, but this experience left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome.
The general manager had gold dyed waves
Waited 30 mins for a shower at 16:00 with 1 person ahead. They called the person ahead and immediately me. I seen about 2 or 3 people come from taking their shower in that 30 minutes. There's 15 showers Very smelly shower towel. Very long slow lines at the registers. Disgusting coffee ice dispenser machine. And a very disgusting microwave. Very foul smelling disgusting overfilled random dumpster with disease transmitting flies near the corner of the building. What else... My shower room floor drain was completely blocked by crud. That's bad when water can't penetrate a drain from so much dirt accumulation.
Large, clean, well lit travel center. Dump station is self serve with apple pay/credit card. Easy. I dinged a star because the water pumps are not working, we had to use our own water to clean up. There should always be running water next to a dump station.
Got to be one of the worst Flying J's out here. Pumps are continuously broken or missing parts. They allow trucks to stack up blocking the isles and entrance, manager just made up excuses, and on top of that they are building a tire shop which will take up much needed parking. I dread it when I have no other choice but to stay here. I guess Warren Buffit is just milking them dry.
Almost everything broken at this store; card readers, no hot water. Also the workers say that the “food manager” insists they give lousy portions to the drivers; really insulting when we’re already paying like 14 bucks for a plate of food that honestly isnt very desirable to begin with. The ONLY redeeming quality that I can see is that at least their DEF works.
It's a great station to stop at. Large facility, catering toward truckers. They have a small laundry mat, lounge with chairs and a TV, a few video slots. Lots of pumps to cater to trucks, RVs and cars. Large parking area as well. Inside is very clean, with multiple type of foods, snacks, drinks, hot and cold. There is also a Dennys attached that you can enter from the the inside. There is even a small Cinnabon inside. They have propane as well. Not sure if they have e Ethel free for boats though. I got a couple of egg rolls to go and my favorite Rockstar drinks that are pretty hard to find. Gas prices are always competitive if not some of the lowest around. Good place to stretch your legs and can accommodate all sized vehicles.
Large clean remolded store which is well maintained and stocked. Also there is a good size drivers lounge with a large laundry room nearby.

The store staff is very professional and friendly, I got a meatloaf meal which they got for me rather quickly not making me stand around.

They have a hot food bar along with the usual PFJ fare. There's also a Denny's for an alternative.

The showers are clean but a bit small. There's plenty of hot water with good water pressure.

The truck parking lot is a good size and not to bad to get into and out of spots.
Nice clean truck stop. The store was extremely clean as were the showers. The food was delicious as well. The lounge was comfortable and clean laundry area.
Worst place you could stop at . Too many trucks park at the entrance . They be blocking people from coming out all the time. You want to get fuel here ? Expect 30 minutes trying for get out after you’re done fueling. This is ridiculous. So much parking spot and all them trucks decide to sleep right at the entrance blocking everybody else
This pilot is one of the best I've been in the whole country such an amazing array of everything from massage chairs to showers to food and beverages home cook meals ,restaurants, I think this is hands-down a five-star pilot. They have so so many options it's hard to choose it even has clothing, knick knacks, souvenirs for the kids and family .If you're thinking about stopping, and you're tired, pull over at this pilot it's well worth it have a good trip drive safe.
This place gets my five stars because of a couple of credentials it has work parking it's nice and open comfortable to parque there's a Denny's inside so you can have breakfast or strong dinner or even have something a little more clean to eat around the lodge you can find a Love's Anna pilot with other available areas to eat also nice clean showers and pizza and a food stand for the big coffee area the diesel area is easy to go in and get out and a service is excellent this place for a long stay.
One of the best Pilot/Flying J locations in the country. Been stopping here for years. Staff has always been friendly. Always clean, neat and orderly. Plenty of parking for trucks with a very large front lot accommodating bobtails, RV's and cars.
The place is always well lit at night.
