I HAVE GONE THERE WITH ALUMINUM CANS AND MOST OF THE TIME I BELIEVE THEY, PAID ME RIGHT FOR AMOUNT OF CANS I HAD, BUT I WANT TODAY 10/7/25 AND THIS TIME I WENT WITH 4 BAGS OF ALUMINUM CANS AND TWO LAWN MOWER ENGINES AND I ONLY GOT $35 FOR ALL OF THAT BUT I BELIEVE I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS I DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY ANYMORE AND I REALLY NEVER DID BECAUSE YOU DON'T IF THEY ARE TRYING TO CHEAT YOU ARE NOT.
Generally 25% lower buy price for our industrial drops at this yard VS our other two vendors. Im not sure why there is such a big gap but i'm rating them lower due to seemingly under paying against the value of the metal. Today they quoted .30/lb for stainless 304 while the other two yards were .40/lb.

This is by far the worst price for scrap metal we have ever got they gave almost a dollar less per pound than our usual scrap yard. If you want a fair price please go somewhere else
OTR drivers, turn east on 3rd street from I35 and left Medina. Either park on 3rd or Medina (if the scale is open you can proceed directly onto the scale) and walk to the window. They will tell you what to do from there. Very nice folks but the facility is very small. Manageable for OTR with 53’ trailer, but just barely.
8 CENTS A POUND?? Rented a U-Haul and spent 3 hours picking up scrap bulk trash metal and received $90 TOTAL for me and my buddy to split.
The site says they’ll have someone sort your metal and unload. They didn’t do that. And after all that we were given 8cents per pound AFTER we unloaded it. He never never told us the weight the scale shows beforehand. They paid in cash so there’s no electronic record of what they gave. Not even a written receipt. When we said that 8 cents a pound was WAY LOWER then average. He completely ignored us and counted 90 dollars cash out cheerfully like if he wasn’t just taking advantage of anyone.
This is a complete scam and rip off and I will NEVER do business here again. I would not recommend this to anyone!!!! Go literally anywhere else!!!
Kind of an intimidating place if you aren't a regular scrapper. Took my old fridge, washer, and dryer there to see if I can make some lunch money.
Drive up onto the scale to get weighed... then drive to the back lot to dump the appliances... then back to scale to weigh... go to the window to collect a little bit of cash. Easy access from 3rd st. (Behind Target/Wholefoods East). It was worth it to me bc I live close and have access to a truck.
Best scrap yard I've ever had the pleasure of frequenting. I'm there almost everyday. I get a real kick outta the fact they call me by name. Clean, organized, and quick, with wonderful customer service. They even gave me a Christmas gift! I don't bother going anywhere else in Austin.
I recommend Austin Metal and Iron for all your metal recycling needs. They are professional, kind, and have good rates. It’s worth it to make the extra little trek into the city.
I dint know what yall been talking about. This place actually offers the best price for copper than the other places trying to rip you off substantially.
Definately the stingiest of all the yards. Probably because of the close proximity to downtown.
Prices are beyond low. I brought in a washer and got 7 bucks. I bring in 2 MUCH HEAVIER washer/dryer combos and get 6$. Its all a scam to see how little you will accept for your valuble scrap. How much do the prices vary you wonder? Apparently depends on your backbone. If you are looking for a quick burn dump your garbage on them. If you need some extra scratch take it down South to American.
This was my go-to yard that I took all my scrap to until I found a higher paying yard farther north. These guys have good prices on non-ferrous but have terrible prices on shred material (2 cents per pound lower than other yards). The small scale operator was nice and they are able to get you in and out in quick time.
