I used Reed Scrap metal yesterday and had a very pleasant experience. There was a little confusion but this is not a huge operation and I had never been there before. Once we got it figured out it was very quick. They weighed in several different types of scrap very efficiently and got me back on the way home in less than 30 minutes. Friendly staff. I will return for business as long as they remain open. I read the reviews before going here. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about these folks. The youngsters that weighed my copper and aluminum were very friendly and honest. No ripping me off stuff like some of the reviews stated!!

Worst customer service ever! Also very lazy if they are enjoying a conversation with each other. Do not recommend this place to anyone.

Fair and decent payout pricing. Quick and efficient. No nonsense. You unload your own items in their designated - though unmarked - sections.

You people are ripping people off. Give the price you say your going to give. Several times I have been lied to. And ripped off. I'll never bring anything to Reed scrap metal...

I don't know what's happened but they've got a new crew in here and they're a lot friendlier. I bring my scrap aluminum and cans here for money

If I could rate it lower, I would. If you're looking for a place that will tear all of the scrap metal off of your trailer, and break your trailer in two at the same time, then you've come to the right place. They've broken a weed-eater holder and a tailgate due to recklessness with a crane. Rude people all around, and no professionalism. If you're looking for a scrapyard, go literally anywhere else.

I went today for the first time at Reeds and it's family run which i respect, the three teenagers the grandsons I believe are weighing my stuff. I am a low voltage guy so 90 percent of my scrap is Cat5, cat5e and cat6 cable. Which for the last ten years I have been scrapping cable has been considered insulated copper 2, which h nowadays only brings about 50 cents a pound. Today they decided it was communications cable which they also bulk together with Christmas lights and tried to give me 14cents a pound and gave me a check for $14.00. I returned the check and got my stuff back. They will rip you off. I recommend going to ab honest establishment. Like the guys in Tyler. What a joke these kids were. I love going to scrap yards and acting like it's my first time thats how you know if you are dealing with an. Honest group or not. The 2 kids are not. The one kid is he is just not a leader yet I hope this post let's you scrappers know not to trust Reed Scrap metal. And please weigh your scrap organize your scrap and know the value, basically do your homework before you scrap because there guys will take your scrap to the bank and let you go home with pennies on the dollar. If your looking for an honest scrap yard it's definitely not this one. So if you do go please don't let this family take advantage of you. Best of luck. Oh and you will not get my business ever. I'd rather drive 2 hours then deal with dishonest people that take advantage of scrappers. I will add a photo of the cable i brought to them. Just so we are clear on what they are calling Christmas tree cable aka grandma said communications wire they just don't have that in the system. I bet they are cheating good old uncle sam and every customer they can

Not sure what happened, but I showed up Wednesday at 12:30, and there was not a soul there. Nothing but six or seven dogs.

Prices are really good. The aluminum guys seemed like good ol guys but other people are down right craby...try to be polite and even make a friendly joke you just get ignored..wont look at you for a second or acknowledge your existence. Even when asking them a simple question about something like the price of a certain metal today or where there bank is located so i can cash the check i get straight up ignored.

I want to Thank Reeds for letting our student practice Extrication Rescue skills (Cutting up cars) . There are some Fire Academy's that don't get to do Extrication they just simulate/ watch videos. For our students being able to actually cut cars and gain the knowledge is awesome an Greatly Appreciated, they would not be able to get that experience if it were not for you and your Staff. Sincerely, Andrea Caudle Fire In Texas Fire/EMS Training Academy
