My truck was towed to their storage lot after an accident and they had the keys. When I went to get my belongings a few days later I immediately noticed fishing gear missing from the bed. I asked where my possessions were and they exclaimed they do not touch possessions or enter the vehicle - Today I was going through my box of items i removed from the truck and discovered they also stole the 6AH 20V batteries off my power tools. Left the tools but the batteries are gone. Missing several hundred dollars worth of my belongings.....absolutely insane.

I hope these men never have a mother, sister or daughter have an accident 6 hours from home. Would not recommend.

October 2025 - ACE Towing of Galveston – Beware of Hidden Fees and Dishonest Practices This company takes advantage of people during stressful situations. My husband was in an accident on September 29, 2025, and the next day we called to find out where the vehicle had been towed. Texas City PD informed us it was at ACE Towing of Galveston. When I first called, I spoke with John, who answered the phone unprofessionally and was difficult to understand, like he had marbles in his mouth. He told me storage was $22.85 plus tax per day. The next day, when I called back, I was told the tow fee was $150, when it was all said & done it was almost $500.00 for 4 days of storage. There is the daily storage charge of $22.85 and tax, a $35 “scene cleanup” fee, and later a $50 “notification letter” fee — just to send a letter. Light Dute Fee & a 2nd Tow fee. RIP OFF! Each of these charges was revealed gradually, not explained up front. It felt deliberately misleading. We told John we planned to have AAA pick up the vehicle since we pay for that service. A friend warned us that ACE often gives other tow companies a hard time, requiring unnecessary paperwork and permissions. Based on that advice, we decided to have ACE tow the vehicle directly to our home — which is less than 10 minutes from their yard — just to avoid the hassle. In the end, we paid $100 to have it towed home, and for less than four days of storage, the total came to $468. Nearly $500 for a short stay and a stack of questionable add-on fees. Their business practices appear predatory, deceptive, and unprofessional. If you ever have to deal with them, get every fee in writing upfront—otherwise, you’ll likely be blindsided later. Advice: If you’re ever in a wreck, contact the tow company immediately. The fees and charges will just keep adding up! When the tow truck driver dropped off our vehicle, he was bragging about how many cars they had sitting on the lot. It’s easy to see why — many people probably can’t afford the outrageous fees and end up leaving their vehicles behind. Bottom line: avoid this company if you can.

Excellent!!! Very helpful for my daughter after she was rear-ended at a red light on the Seawall. I am 6.5 hours away, and they were very comforting and took total control of the situation, made this Momma's heart happy. The best thing was they were $140 cheaper than the first place I contacted.

We had a flat tire and a cruise ship to catch in an hour. Riley Auto Parts called Manuel from Ace of GALVESTON Wrecker Service. Manuel showed up within minutes and assured us he would get us to the repair shop, get our tire fixed and we would be back on our way to catch the cruise in time to enjoy our week. He took us to the closest mechanic’s shop. While we were there and he was dropping off the vehicle, we all noticed there was an irate customer threatening the mechanic with a gun in his waistband. The staff at the repair shop had us go inside and locked us in. Meanwhile, Manuel decided he didn’t like the situation and put our vehicle back on his wrecker which was feet from the irate customer with the gun and came to the door of the shop to escort us back to his truck. He said very politely and with concern “get in the truck, we are leaving”. We hopped in and off we went. Manuel said “ I am not going to leave you in that situation. I told you I would take care of y’all and that is what I am going to do.” Manuel went above and beyond. We can’t thank him enough for his courage and concern. He made an incredibly stressful situation more than bearable. Thank you again Manuel! To say you are the best is an understatement.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It is absolutely abysmal. I witnessed grown men cussing women out in front of children. Despite multiple inquiries to speak to a manager, I was brushed off and told that they were not on the premise. After asking for the man’s name who was extremely provocative, I was hung up on and completely dismissed. I have never experienced such terrible service.

Unprofessional and rude. Let me around town several times all to still have to get my car from another lot. Have had several cars stolen by this particular lot. One even had a friends mother's ashes inside and they threw her away. Prolly for the best but still seems more like a opposing gang took advantage of me

I was working on getting my vehicle caliper fixed. I had the tire off and caliper removed. Vehicle was on my jackstand. City placed a violation sticker and gave me 48 hours to remove vehicle. I explained to the parking Marshall my situation and I thought I understood that I would have more time. I came home to find the vehicle gone. 51 st street towing towed it with three wheels and stole my jack stand.

Unscrupulous management. They will tow your car from a parking lot in a heartbeat and charge you upwards of $300 for a less than 1 mile tow. Exploitative and unprofessional! The city should reconsider their contract as they abuse citizens and visitors. Not good for Galveston’s economy.

We were parked at port of Galveston and because of rain that caused flooding had to be towed out. We drove our car on the bed and drove it off they literally drove us three blocks and charged 150.00. I believe they were taking advantage of the situation and there was no need to charge that much! Very unprofessional!

Early Sunday morning our Tahoe left us stranded didn't get to see the Sunrise from the seawall but it felt really good to get fast service Roy was Tow-tally Awesome! and We were towed back home with excellent quality service

Good reliable wrecker company! I call them before I call my roadside assistance because they are fast and took care of me both times I had my car towed. Deven and Manuel both have treated me with great service.

I was told to meet them at 2:00 at their Texas City location. I informed them that I would have to take a Lyft and would be there around 2:10. No one called to tell me that the time had to be moved back to 3:30. I had to pay the Lyft driver to bring me home again. Another Lyft was ordered and I showed up before 3:30 to find no one on site. I called Ace and John said they were running late. I explained the inconvenience and cost and he said, “Okay” in such a nonchalant and rude manner! I told him I would rate their service as highly unprofessional and he didn’t seem to care. I had no choice in where my car was towed. I would NEVER use this company if given a choice. Update: It’s 3:55. Still no one has arrived to release my car. The Lyft counter is still running!!!!

I parked in a lot & admittedly forgot to pay for my parking. I was on the phone & just spaced out. I came back a few hours later & my truck had been towed. I paid $327.47, plus a credit card fee to tow my truck 3 miles. That is robbery!!! Guy on the phone was ignorant & rude. He was very smug & hung up on me more than once when I was just trying to get my truck back.

Emmanuel is a rude, abusive person. I'm sure had I been a man he wouldn't have spoken to me in the manner he did. I was dealing with picking up my husbands motorcycle with my husband in the hospital fighting for his life. The police department said your company was not listed as called to the scene, but you showed up. Officer had no details, so he had me google to locate, horrible. AND your company unnecessarily completely destroyed the motorcycle. The police department took photos at the accident scene, there were only a few scratches. Now it's totaled from being dragged. YOUR COMPANY has NO business towing bikes!!!! Seems like your 5-star reviews come from a certain "type". Interesting that you would use the words "attitude" because I asked a simple question. You need to deal with your internal discriminatory mentality. Remember, I have two witnesses!

We were stranded on the island over night. Luckily Brent was there to load us up and gave us a tow to local mechanic. He made sure that we were in a safe place to wait for our car to be finished. He definitely made us feel welcomed in the area and also helped us calm our nerves. May he continue to be Blessed! Great work Brent!

This is for the winnie st location. It’s a shame we don’t get to pick our wrecker service when there is an accident. That’s probably one of the reason why these guys are still in service. Long story short it’s the others person fault in an accident, the other insurance sucks and didn’t do anything so we got our own insurance involved. For two weeks these guys were rude, dodge our cars and kept coming up with an excuse of why we can’t get our car back. I sent a personal wrecker service, State Farm my insurance called them and they wouldn’t release the car then finally they told us they auctioned off the car. Didn’t even tell us to come grab valuables. I get the law lets them auction off a car after 31 days but they already knew we have been trying to get the car back and they did it anyways. When we politely asked when the car was auction and for how much they became defensive and cursed us out. I have video proof! Either way these guys are scum, trashy of the trash shady business.

This wrecker company auctioned off my car KNOWING that we’ve been trying to get our car back. My lawyer and my insurance also tried to call them to get our car back but they kept on dodging our calls. The service is terrible. The whole business is shady. When I tried to find out how much they auctioned my car for, the lady literally was so rude and cussed me out. She told me they don’t have to tell me anything else since im not the owner anymore. This business needs to get shut down for the shadiness and unprofessionalism. I didn’t even get to get my personal belonging before they sold it to someone else!

Just reading these reviews I see I'm not the only one dealing with these rude and unprofessional people. Something has to be done about these people. The city Marshall must be a good friends with these people because they won't do anything about their shoddy operation they have going on. Go to Marty's or Ken's towing. I read the laws on the tow company holding your personal property and its against the law. The police was called and he still wouldn't release our property but wants me to sign my title over to him before I could get my belongings.

Carlos is a really good person to do business with. He's honest, doesn't lie and play games. Very much enjoyed meeting him and his crew. They're all good people. Bought a car from him. It was exactly what he advertised. No bait and switch. No false advertising. Just good honest business. Thank you so much Carlos!

This place is a SCAM and unlawful. Car was towed and I was told I could not pay with credit card because they’re system is down. As I’m reading these reviews it sounds like they are breaking Texas state law by not excepting card payments. They are charging more than the max allowed charge for towing. They are also charging an impoundment fee when they should not be, according to Texas state law. On top of all this, the attendant was very threatening. If anyone has experienced any of what I have just said, I implore you to file a complaint with the state of Texas as I will definitely be doing. This company is shady and should be shut down.

1st time in Galveston, hadn't yet been to rented condo , stopped for quick bite to eat at 1:00 pm Friday. Returned to parking lot at 1:55 and truck was GONE! Other family members looked around for a # to call. ACE had towed it away at 1:30 pm? Tall dark headed man loudly cussing at us from inside the building saying we were stupid, calling us idiots, can't read the sign! Came out of office to provoke a fist fight with my adult nephew? Charged the maximum amount the state allows to get out of impound and cash ONLY? Signage poor at the lot. I felt like I was surrounded by a pack of hyenas! I am a very law abiding citizen and travel often. I honestly did not see signage and would have paid! I am in shock of your volatile employees, lying in wait to pounce on unsuspecting VISITORS! #317.00 later, really? If this is how Galveston generates their revenue then this will NOT be a place I will return to in the future .

This company is all about $$. The Lady answers the phone very rudly. I had no choice in using their service. I tried to visit my car to take pictures but when i told her i couldn't find the title nor had any funds to get a lost title she told me but told her i was told i could sign paperwork releasing the car to them, i was told to go to the island. I then asked for her to bring the papers they needed signed with her she got even more belligerent. Told me to take photos from the fence knowing full well that where the car was the fence is covered. The main damage is on the right and the car was parked where it should have been impossible to get even some of the pictures i needed. Jokes on you i may not have gotten all the pictures i needed but we managed to get a few good ones showing the worst of the damage. Would never us if i would have had a choice. Would not recommend to anyone.

This company was called by local law-enforcement after my car was struck in an accident this week. When the tow truck guy got there he pulled my car on to the flat bed, while my car was still in park. Now anyone with a little common sense knows that the car is supposed to be in neutral. So, I asked him about it, and his response was that this is what he normally does. Me, myself knowing that this can tear up the transmission. I go on to have a couple of conversations with the lady that answers the phone who is completely rude. I was told that my car would be at their yard, so immediately that's where I went. I did not know the place didn't open until 9, but the lady who answered the phone rudely let me know this. I had a difficult time finding the correct entrance to the place, so my girlfriend and I parked close to an entrance that we thought could have been it. 9 comes around and we speak to the lady and again rudely she says "that's why you guys can't find it you're at the wrong entrance." I informed her that we have been circling the block a few times and so we just parked. I get there finally, and I start walking up through the gate. The lady aggressively says to me "what are you doing here?" Like she didn't know that I was coming, I had already spoken to her three times previously, including about two minutes before me arriving with her saying that we were at the wrong entrance. I informed her once again that my car had been towed there after an accident. After going into my car and getting my things out I noticed money missing from my car. I addressed her about the situation, and apparently no one knew what happened to my money, I also have about two and a half to three books of mailing stamps that are gone. So not only are they rude, but they are thieves as well.
