We had a flat tire and a cruise ship to catch in an hour. Riley Auto Parts called Manuel from Ace of GALVESTON Wrecker Service. Manuel showed up within minutes and assured us he would get us to the repair shop, get our tire fixed and we would be back on our way to catch the cruise in time to enjoy our week. He took us to the closest mechanic’s shop. While we were there and he was dropping off the vehicle, we all noticed there was an irate customer threatening the mechanic with a gun in his waistband. The staff at the repair shop had us go inside and locked us in. Meanwhile, Manuel decided he didn’t like the situation and put our vehicle back on his wrecker which was feet from the irate customer with the gun and came to the door of the shop to escort us back to his truck. He said very politely and with concern “get in the truck, we are leaving”. We hopped in and off we went. Manuel said “ I am not going to leave you in that situation. I told you I would take care of y’all and that is what I am going to do.” Manuel went above and beyond. We can’t thank him enough for his courage and concern. He made an incredibly stressful situation more than bearable. Thank you again Manuel! To say you are the best is an understatement.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It is absolutely abysmal. I witnessed grown men cussing women out in front of children. Despite multiple inquiries to speak to a manager, I was brushed off and told that they were not on the premise. After asking for the man’s name who was extremely provocative, I was hung up on and completely dismissed. I have never experienced such terrible service.
Unscrupulous management. They will tow your car from a parking lot in a heartbeat and charge you upwards of $300 for a less than 1 mile tow. Exploitative and unprofessional! The city should reconsider their contract as they abuse citizens and visitors. Not good for Galveston’s economy.
We were parked at port of Galveston and because of rain that caused flooding had to be towed out. We drove our car on the bed and drove it off they literally drove us three blocks and charged 150.00. I believe they were taking advantage of the situation and there was no need to charge that much! Very unprofessional!
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. THEY SHOWED UP IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES. TOWED ME & MY GIRLS THEN DROPPED US OFF AT OUR CONDO. EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS. I COULD NOT BE MORE GRATEFUL FOR THE QUALITY SERVICE THEY PROVIDED. THEY SAVED THE DAY!
Stole my car after calling and asking for rates told them where I wanted to go my phone died so they took it upon themselves to get the car and take it to their lot and charge me $80 to get my car out
I was told to meet them at 2:00 at their Texas City location. I informed them that I would have to take a Lyft and would be there around 2:10. No one called to tell me that the time had to be moved back to 3:30. I had to pay the Lyft driver to bring me home again. Another Lyft was ordered and I showed up before 3:30 to find no one on site. I called Ace and John said they were running late. I explained the inconvenience and cost and he said, “Okay” in such a nonchalant and rude manner! I told him I would rate their service as highly unprofessional and he didn’t seem to care. I had no choice in where my car was towed. I would NEVER use this company if given a choice.
Update: It’s 3:55. Still no one has arrived to release my car. The Lyft counter is still running!!!!
The guys went out there way to pick up my boss truck that broke down in Dallas they where there at tge location of the truck less then 5 hours 300 miles away my boss now use this company for any of his towing needs Thanks to the driver they call Monster very professional young man and tge truck was clean.
I parked in a lot & admittedly forgot to pay for my parking. I was on the phone & just spaced out. I came back a few hours later & my truck had been towed. I paid $327.47, plus a credit card fee to tow my truck 3 miles. That is robbery!!! Guy on the phone was ignorant & rude. He was very smug & hung up on me more than once when I was just trying to get my truck back.
baby when i say unprofessional over the phone i mean it .. lady who claims to be the owner was really rude to me when i explained to her what i was told about my rental car getting towed down here and when i arrived they said appointment needed to be made so we didnit for 7 and was waiting half an hour after 7 for somebody to even pull up to the tow yard meanwhile its about a good 10-15 people already waiting that had been waiting when I got to the location at 6:30 ... then proceeds to let one person in at a time and changed up the whole attitudes that the owner had over the phone then when i was asked did i call the police on them some fat guy started being rude about it when they need to be more professional and communacte to they customers whats going on prior to anybody coming
We were towed from a lot that was not well marked. Employees were very rude and called us obscene names. They also used racist remarks to the couple in line before us.
I accompanied a friend who's husband was in a bad motorcycle accident last night, and happens to be fighting for his life. She first called to find out how to get it. She spoke to two men who were very rude & unprofessional. Her name is on the title & insurance, yet they gave her a really hard time. When we arrived Mr. Emmanue was even more rude and told her it wasn't his fault that her husband was in an accident and that he didn't appreciate her attitude. He also charged her additionally for two days of service. Please do not utilize this poorly managed business.
It’s a shame we don’t get to pick our wrecker service when there is an accident. That’s probably one of the reason why these guys are still in service. Long story short it’s the others person fault in an accident, the other insurance sucks and didn’t do anything so we got our own insurance involved. For two weeks these guys were rude, dodge our cars and kept coming up with an excuse of why we can’t get our car back. I sent a personal wrecker service, State Farm my insurance called them and they wouldn’t release the car then finally they told us they auctioned off the car. Didn’t even tell us to come grab valuables. I get the law lets them auction off a car after 31 days but they already knew we have been trying to get the car back and they did it anyways. When we politely asked when the car was auction and for how much they became defensive and cursed us out. I have video proof! Either way these guys are scum, trashy of the trash shady business.
This wrecker company auctioned off my car KNOWING that we’ve been trying to get our car back. My lawyer and my insurance also tried to call them to get our car back but they kept on dodging our calls. The service is terrible. The whole business is shady. When I tried to find out how much they auctioned my car for, the lady literally was so rude and cussed me out. She told me they don’t have to tell me anything else since im not the owner anymore. This business needs to get shut down for the shadiness and unprofessionalism. I didn’t even get to get my personal belonging before they sold it to someone else!
Just reading these reviews I see I'm not the only one dealing with these rude and unprofessional people. Something has to be done about these people. The city Marshall must be a good friends with these people because they won't do anything about their shoddy operation they have going on. Go to Marty's or Ken's towing. I read the laws on the tow company holding your personal property and its against the law. The police was called and he still wouldn't release our property but wants me to sign my title over to him before I could get my belongings.
Carlos is a really good person to do business with. He's honest, doesn't lie and play games. Very much enjoyed meeting him and his crew. They're all good people. Bought a car from him. It was exactly what he advertised. No bait and switch. No false advertising. Just good honest business. Thank you so much Carlos!
This place is a SCAM and unlawful. Car was towed and I was told I could not pay with credit card because they’re system is down. As I’m reading these reviews it sounds like they are breaking Texas state law by not excepting card payments. They are charging more than the max allowed charge for towing. They are also charging an impoundment fee when they should not be, according to Texas state law. On top of all this, the attendant was very threatening. If anyone has experienced any of what I have just said, I implore you to file a complaint with the state of Texas as I will definitely be doing. This company is shady and should be shut down.
The Ace driver was fantastic. He came quickly to rescue my car when every other wrecker was closed. They towed my SUV to my home safely and quickly. Well done!!
1st time in Galveston, hadn't yet been to rented condo , stopped for quick bite to eat at 1:00 pm Friday. Returned to parking lot at 1:55 and truck was GONE! Other family members looked around for a # to call. ACE had towed it away at 1:30 pm? Tall dark headed man loudly cussing at us from inside the building saying we were stupid, calling us idiots, can't read the sign! Came out of office to provoke a fist fight with my adult nephew? Charged the maximum amount the state allows to get out of impound and cash ONLY? Signage poor at the lot. I felt like I was surrounded by a pack of hyenas! I am a very law abiding citizen and travel often. I honestly did not see signage and would have paid! I am in shock of your volatile employees, lying in wait to pounce on unsuspecting VISITORS! #317.00 later, really? If this is how Galveston generates their revenue then this will NOT be a place I will return to in the future .
Kudos to Driver Steve, saved us out of Galveston and transported our car to Mercedes Benz of Clear Lake. We had a minor mishap due to the space at the Mercedes Lot. My wife and I also offered Steve some money for his troubles and he would not accept. We really do appreciate him!
I really wish my experience didn't involve losing my car. But they are very professional and respectable people. I hope I never have to deal with y'all again in the most respectful way. But if I do get in another wreck. Y'all will be my choice.
Our battery went dead on the ferry & our key locked in the ignition so we had no other choice but to start calling wrecker services. Someone promptly answered the phone here and told us the price we okayed it. He towed us off the ferry and gave us a jump start, we were on our way!! Thank you!!!
We were parked on the strand and tried to pay the parking lot for the day machine didn’t work so they towed our vehicle. After trying to be polite and figure out where we needed to go since are from way out of town they were very rude and condisending. I was even hung up on twice!! If it wouldn’t have been for the awesome officers on the island we would have been walking around all day. Honestly hope the place burns down🤷♀️ Sorry not sorry
So I've gotta start off by admitting that I came across these guys after I had my car towed for illegal parking. And even though that part definitely sucked, all things considered, Ace made it less of a nightmare. Even though it must have been like 11:00 at night, the couple running the joint were quick to respond to my call, took a few additional charges off the record when I explained my situation, and even offered me suggestions to reduce parking fees downtown in the future.
This is a predatory company around the downtown area of Galveston. They are required to take debit card payment by law,and as stated on their office sign. The machine was "broken", so we had to get another ride to an ATM. Cost was almost $300.00 for a 1.8 mile tow.
I had a car accident in Freeport on Saturday May 7, 16, I called ACE and not only did they pick the car up but they picked me up to ride with them from Galveston; Charles the wrecker driver was just fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone also if my brides and grooms get stuck in the sand on Galveston Island I give them this number..
The Lady there was rude and I was charged a $125 "clean up" fee on a tow that did not require any cleaning up. I will be filing a complaint with TDLR and the city of Galveston them. If you plan on paying cash, bring exact amount these people do not believe in giving you change. Do not give them one cent more then these crooks are charging for services they didn't even provide.
Something crooked in Galveston, by the name of Ace. My son sold his car, but before the buyer could register it, it was stolen. My son received a notice to pick it up, and after making all the arrangements, he drove 300 miles to pick it up, and Ace would not release it, even though he had the money and all the proper papers. The police said it's a civil manner, even though the truck was reported stolen, but ACE told the police they aren't going to give it back. The owner cursed at me, my son AND the policeman. We now have to hire a lawyer and file suit.
Very nice people office staff and the driver were very helpful and respectable people. I recommend them to anyone. This was my first wreck and I was clueless to how things worked and they helped me through the while process even after my car left their facility.
