The recycling center has incompetent people working inside the office. My experience was scary and down right upsetting. The loads their stuff onto their vehicle and take it there if you have metal pieces. That is what I did. I went into the office to get directions on where to drive my truck into, because I had never been there. She tells me over there by the blue building. I told her there are no signs to guide us, but said there are. I drove where she said but as I was going in didn't look right and started to back out. Then I see a sign that said closed for lunch from 12- 12:30! The incompetent worker didn't tell me they would be closed right then for lunch. This is the reason why I went in further skipping the entrance for the recycling. As I backed out my truck hit an old decrepit fence that was sticking out and scratched my truck and cracked my tail light. I went back to the office to complain to the woman that she didn't tell me they would be closed for lunch and that I should come back at 12:30. She didn't like my tone I guess and called the police! She is working for the city which includes dealing with the public. Did she have a dream that I would be taken with hand cuffs because ICE would eventually take me away somewhere??? I could not believe that this was happening to me. I didn't do anything! Nothing and she wasted police time and my time. They found nothing, I asked for my license back. The manager came out finally saying that this was a very unfortunate situation. That I came at the wrong time. He defended his incompetent employee who obviously can't handle the job, and has to call the police to help her do her job??? I told the manager we all multitask. All of us in this day and age with computers, phones and everyone knows when is lunch time, so give me a break. Poor excuse. This was a terrible experience. I am a Hispanic 66 year old woman and this is how this employee chose to treat me (a senior citizen). Shame on her.

The attendants have always been efficient, informative, and extremely helpful - plus, I've been here multiple times and have never waited more than 2 minutes. On the phone, the City of NB is also very helpful. Thank you to the community!
