Updating a few years later to add- Still AWESOME service and people!

They've done everything from replacing a transmission, installing brake lines I'd bought and didn't have the time/effort to do myself, to taking in a last minute stop for a tire plug. Work has been professional, prompt, and fairly priced.

I just rebuilt a boss 429 that they charged a 1000$ for silicone cleaning and the engine blew up after 5 miles, I wouldn’t let them work on my lawnmower! They are total crooks!!

This was only the second time I took my mother-in-law's car to Don's. First time it had a rough running engine. They diagnosed a bad coil pack. Kept me in the loop throughout the work.
This time her car needed state inspection and they suggested to me that the brake fluid should be replaced but left it up to my decision with no pressure to have it done.
I recommend this business.

I recently used Dons to fix and issue with my cars dual clutch transmission. The work went very well and I was very happy with the service.

During the work I ended up having to travel which made communication on my side a bit difficult but they were always accommodating and polite.

Great experience. My suggestion would be to let me know if other items need to be fixed before you turn the car back to me

Shop was great. Only issue I had was they called to approve a 292 dollar repair but when I picked it up the price was 511 and they couldn’t explain why when asked.

We were just finishing a family road trip with five kids, hoping to get home that night a few states away, and our alternator died. We called a shop recommended by the auto parts store that tested the car, but got no answer. Tried Don's and told them the situation and they told us to come on over. They were super helpful and friendly, and gave us ideas for what we could do while we waited, even tried to find a loaner van we could use. They got it done in just a couple hours while we waited at the shopping center just down the street and got us on our way.

I needed to find a shop who could inspect my C5 Corvette. The first place I tried was not able to accomodate such a low vehicle despite it being stock ride height. I have delt with Don, Cindy, Bim, and Chad, they all seem like great and honest people. I will be coming back here in the future for my vehicle needs.

I’ve read these reviews an I just don’t understand how anyone could say anything bad about Dons. Recently had a 4l60 rebuilt by them an they kept me informed throughout the whole process. Don himself gave great info on little extra stuff to do when putting the trans back in. I did get the trans it an it works absolutely flawlessly. I highly recommend Dons

These guys don't know how to tighten bolts. They did my trans and the transfer case is loose. Every single bolt was loose. Do you see any lock tight on the threads, no because they cut corners. Maybe it was a friday. Emory transmission is right down the road, they have great reviews. These guys are rude and don't warrenty their work PERIOD

This shop had great service. We were traveling and broke down here in Pennsylvania with a transmission problem. We called Dons performance and he said come on and I’ll get on it as quick as I can. He checked it out ordered parts put it back together in record time. Honest, friendly, and caring. Thank you so much for your help. It’s hard to find honest people these days. Thanks again

If your car is in need of maintenance or repairs, go somewhere else or buy a new car. I brought my vehicle in with a specific concern. They said that was fine but found other work that needed to be done. That was odd because the dealer out of state had just done the same work. Within days, I was stranded hours from home because of my original concern that was dismissed. Our other vehicle went in for a routine oil change and annual inspection. Very soon afterward, the engine was destroyed because there was no oil in it. How to kill a vehicle in under 24 hours? Take it here.

Me and my family was vacationing up in Mechanicsburg last week. On the trip up we were experiencing issues with our car. Three lights came on " the road slip assistance and the ABS lights. We continued on the road. When we got into town we had more issues. I noticed there was issues visibly in my rear wheel.
Finally we had the van towed to a garage Firestone. I explained that I think it could be the transmission along with issues in my rear wheel that is the cause. Firestone later contacted me saying they think it was the transmission based on the codes. Yet they admitted that they didn't look at the wheel since they just found the transmission issue which they could not repair. So we called around and there was no one who was able to fit us in. Finally we were directed to Don's performance Corner. The people who I spoke to was very nice. I explained my situation and they just told me don't worry we can fit your van in and we can take care of things for you. So we had the van towed there. Later he called to let me know there was no transmission issue but my breaks was all mangled up resulting in alot of the issues I was experiencing. So I gave the ok for the work to be done. He said they would have the work done for us the next day at 12pm. Me and my family took a urbur to a vacation site and was to later be dropped off at noon to Don's garage. We got the call that they were already done before hand. So when we left the vacation site and was dropped off at Don's Garage, we were greeted warmly. I was impressed with the size of the garage. The gentleman we spoke to joked with us and was very pleasant. Don himself who was on the phone gave us details on the work they did. I was impressed. He wished us well. I found the price for the amount of work that was needed was very good. And when I looked at the wheel I saw all new parts. Nothing that looked like it was something sitting on a self for a long time but parts that looked like they came off the assembly line. That blew my mind. Driving back to the hotel I found the van was working great. We continued our vacation and was able to return home safely. Since then we have had no more issues. Because of Don's Performance Corner we were able to finish our vacation and get back home safely. I highly recommend this garage to those looking for good friendly, reliable top not h service. I know if I am ever back up that way and have an issue I will be calling them first.

I work for basement guru our company truck needed work called the office Larry was on the phone right away he said bring the truck in will get it squared out right away we have it running in no time especially where you are so busy that we need a ride old man they deliver they kept a word everybody there was nice the lady in the front desk was nice very professional everything was great that my love going with to the shop very nice for kids they let us take a picture with the car my wife loved it everything about it was good I recommend bringing your vehicle here I'm definitely bringing my vehicle into the shop highly highly recommended to bring your vehicle here .

Drove from LA to PA in my 2012 Tahoe my transmission gave out in Illinois, contacted a company who towed my truck to PA and dropped it off at Dons performance. Best decision ever. My trucks runs like a dream now, very happy with their service and warranty on their work. Worth every penny

Locally, likely the best engine builder, especially for those looking for extra horsepower or torque. The shop is very well equipped, and even has a machine shop. They can also do more routine work at reasonable prices. A family shop from the looks of it, the mechanics and staff seem to be definite car guys. I likely will begin to use them for my more routine work, as it looks like my dealer is turning to a profit oriented up sale mode, which I can understand but doesn't meet my needs and aims. In short, an excellent facility and great staff, I will be using them often if not for all my maintenance and repair.

Dons replied: “Sorry you are unhappy with repair. We did what you requested” I Brought it in for an issue, and I agreed to all the recommended repairs (which were many), and none of which fixed the issues I brought it in for. Incredible. If you were sorry you’d make it right but this shop is a shady group of rip offs.

Incorrect diagnosis of what causing engine knock on truck. At least 1.5k of my 2.8k bill was for exhaust manifold replace which did not fix or even remotely affect the issue. When I went back all I got was assurance engine is fine and to just drive it, and a rebuild would run me 8-9k. They also “repaired” sway bar to fix suspension rattle, but the rattle still there. They nor I can’t prove they did any work at all as nothing is changed from when I brought it in. Not sure why I paid a dime. They have no interest in fixing a vehicle

They orginally did a good job installing a transmission and stood by their promises to honor the warrantee. However, when I had an issue before the warrantee expired, I took my vehicle in for service and was then charged for something that I didn't agree to having installed. We eventually came to an agreement on me paying for the gas that was placed into my vehicle and for the part that was installed. All in all, they do good work. But I had a bit of challenge in the end.

Went in 1 month ago looking to replace my transmission in my 2016 Ford escape they was straight forward about the price no hidden fees the staff was very nice and they know what they are doing thank you very much I will be taking my car there from now on once again thank you Don's performance

Took my vehicle in for an engine oil change, transmission oil change, inspection, and to try to find a draw that was killing my battery. Fit me in quickly and my vehicle was done in a day. All good. When I picked my vehicle up I was in a hurry and didn't realize that I didn't get a receipt for my $600+ worth of work. Came back a couple of days later and the gentleman behind the desk acted like I was being irrational for asking for a copy of my receipt. I just wanted proof of the service to keep in my records for when I sell my vehicle. He told me I already had a copy (which I never received) and then acted visibly upset that he had to type my name into his computer and find my record. A few days later I realized that my vehicle was leaking oil in my driveway. Crawled underneath and noticed it was coming from the drain plug. Looked up the torque specs for the drain plug online and took my torque wrench out to see what I could find. Needless to say, it was never torqued to the proper amount.

I read the poor reviews of Don's before I made my appointment, but their location close to my residence made me forgive those complaints. In hindsight, I would choose to take my vehicle somewhere else and will do just that next time. Customer service goes a long way and as a new customer I didn't feel valued one bit.

I wont tell you to never go here and I doubt every customer experience there is a poor one, I just wanted to share my story.

I’ve been taking two different vehicles here (both different manufacturers and model types) for quite some time now. For both vehicles I wouldn’t trust anyone else to touch my cars. I would consider myself a DIY’er for most car things, but some things it’s best to let a trained professional do. Don’s has done excellent work on my vehicles and I will continue to take my vehicles there for as long as I have them. Their prices are industry standard for most everything and the money you pay is well worth it for the quality of the job they do.

Took my mustang down on Monday to get a pair of long tube headers installed, and my aftermarket exhaust modified to fit with the long tubes. I was a little skeptical at first after reading some reviews, but decided to have them cut it shorter to save me the money of another aftermarket system for my headers. The car was done on Wednesday, and I picked it up Thursday morning, and I couldn't be happier! The car sounds great, it's definitely making more power, and their modifications they made to fit the headers look like they were designed that way, not an after thought to make it work. I'll definitely be bringing my car back to get more work done that I can't do myself!

A great mom/pop auto shop. One of the few remaining. I had a great experience with having a new transmission installed after my old transmission failed during a vacation to visit family in the area. I felt comfortable enough to leave my vehicle with them for a month while I made a schedule to pick it back up. Larry was very helpful over the phone during the whole process. The price was the most reasonable over a half dozen phone calls to other places. When I came back to get my vehicle, the staff was very nice and very helpful. My vehicle is running great. I could not have asked for a better experience. My Pennsylvania family now knows about Don's Performance.
