Employees driving their branded vehicles do not use turn signals when changing lanes (while speeding), exiting a highway, or when making turns at intersections. Extremely unsafe and unprofessional behavior.

They screwed up a $4000 rack and pinion steering replacement on my vehicle, then threw attitude at me like I didnt know what they had done to my car. The guy I spoke to got told FIVE TIMES what the repair was but kept condescending at me, then he threw a fit when I got mad about repeating myself. Never take your vehicle here, they have far more arrogance than skill.

Not happy with this company after my experience this morning I had. I Leave my house for work to find out my company work truck is in the process of being towed. Not to mention where I park my cars they should never be towed cause it’s a private property parking lot that I have to pay a small fee for so I knew right away it was a mistake. After minutes of an ongoing fued with the driver he told me he was sent to tow a “Dodge” which is the work truck I have and that he was not dropping the car. Finally after getting to the bottom of the situation turns out they had the wrong address they were sent to and the wrong DODGE. So this company clearly has poor communication skills and should be more clear on the cars they are sent to tow not just the first DODGE they find. Overall experience was just insane. I get mistakes happen but this shouldn’t have happened. If I was 2 minutes later out my house I wouldn’t have had a vehicle for work so I made it out just in time. Also The “DODGE” they found looked nothing like mine either. Unprofessional. If your going to tow a car be certain it’s the car your after.

Tim took my request to weld extensions onto a resonator same day. Welds are clean and precise. Job was completed exactly how we discussed. I was happy with the service and cost which I thought was fair and reasonable. Shop is clean, team communicated well and made me feel confortable. Excellent assortment of used autos too!

They got me scheduled really quick which I tremendously appreciated. And the bill was lower than I anticipated. Great office staff and very knowledgeable technicians that I have followed from other establishments.

Just recently had a rear main seal replaced (definitely not a quick job) it was done super fast very happy with that price was not the cheapest not the most expensive but with the service we received was definitely worth it.

Through a series of unfortunate events, I received roadside assistance twice in a few days from Advantage Auto Services and they were responsive, helpful and friendly.

I will not buy a car off of them never again since I had got a car from him, I had the car for two months. The car kept cutting off so many problems I keep taking it to other shops . I mean other car places they saying everything on my car was bad they not trying to fix it or give me my money back so do not buy your car from them & plus I’m sue them a bad place to get a car from

If you want a place that talks your ear off this is not the garage. If you want a place that does their job and does it well this is the place for you. Fair prices great work. Had an alignment and they were spot on with it and fast.

We called their tow truck driver to bring our vehicle to our house. Instead, they stole it and put it in an inpound lot. Now they're trying to extort exorbitant fees from me instead of me just paying for a simple tow. Edit: The police called you on my behalf to tow my vehicle to my house. Not to impound it and try to export money. Should have been a simple tow.

I take both my wife’s and my cars there for everything I need done. Always taken care of in a timely fashion and prices are far. Never had a problem who owner or staff they alway are polite and courteous

I have noticed through the reviews that the owner enjoys attempting to dispute the negative reviews by using blanket statements and vague dialogue. I can say that our experience with them and their towing service was awful, and I will be providing details to back this point. My mother and I got into a car accident that was traumatic for both of us, and not being from the area, the police called in a tow for us. This ended up being Advantage Auto. While some of their prices (while being very high) were understandable (the 911 tow as well as the after-hours tow) others were horribly absurd. We were charged a two-day storage fee when the car was in their care for no more than 12 hours, and when we questioned this, we were told it was there for "two days, didn't matter how long." In total we paid $1190 for services, and as previously mentioned when we questioned the total they kept repeating that it was "industry standard" and the receptionist was quite rude and abruptly ended our line of questioning by saying she "didn't want a fight." I implore everyone in the Johnstown area to use ANYBDOY ELSE for towing, and not Advantage Auto. After doing my research, there are several other towing companies who offer far better rates and customer service.

Great! Would highly recommend Advantage!! Didn't take long to get state inspection done. Everyone who worked there was smiling & friendly, and greeted me! ? Tim, as always, was everywhere at once and doing a phenomenal job of caring for everyone & everything!! I'm coming back here!!!

Would not recommend for towing. Estimate time from my insurance was 60 min. 2 hours later they added another 58-88 minutes to the time. Cancelled it and called eastmont. Had my car on the tow truck not even 30 min later.

Such a pleasure to take my vehicle here. I had to have an oil change, a tire plugged , and wanted to make sure it was mechanically sound for a long drive , and they looked it over , and made sure everything was fine . The owner I believe he came around in the nice little waiting area , and gave us Chapsticks with the business name on it , and just really down to earth nice place . They do the work right , and they don't nickel and dime you like some places do. I've taken every car here , and anytime I need anything, or I know someone else who needs anything I tell them take it to Advantage.

Thank you so kindly for calling and accusing me of making the last post commenting on your pricing. I agree it's a little outrageous. 700 dollars. My car was towed 1pm Saturday you aren't open on Sunday and I was there today before 330 pm and even taking one day. 350 for a tow fee? Plus you told me to my face you were scraping the car yourself I could have scrapped had it towed straight from ur lot and paid you something at least if you just need to at least recover something for a tow fee . I have 3200 dollars invested into my car that you took for $700. You let me clean my items out of the vehicle and I do appreciate that . I am respecting that this is your job etc. But you do not have a right to call to "ask" me about a negative post . For the post to not even be associated with me in anyway!. I'm not sure how to rate your business. You showed bare minimum kindness. However your phone call to call and disagree about a comment is a little unprofessional.

The prices these people are charging is absolutely ridiculous. My car had no damage and was pulled off of a curb and towed 1 mile up the road from beandogs to their lot. My bill was $668 on top of that they charged me a service credit card fee and instead of the standard 2% it was charged at 4% for $26. Part of my $668 was $75 for not leaving my keys. That was an oversight on my part that I just did not think about but I literally said goodbye and that I was grabbing my keys very loudly to the tow guy. If they wanted to charge people too much $350 would be too much money for what they did let alone double that. Even my insurance company was baffled by this price

I was looking at all the comments on Advantage Auto. I will say. Tim is an outstanding mechanic. Very hard worker. I respect that he is very hands on. Not often you will see the owner of the garage getting their hands dirty. Very respectful.

The owner kept me posted throughout the process. Price was slightly more than expected but the realm of work was more than initially thought primarily because it was not the typical subaru engine. Had a couple issues the night we picked it up, contacted owner following morning and he promptly picked the car up, made the necessary repairs, and it was back in a timely manner. Had gotten it back the second time and had issues less than a mile away. I do have to say I was a little concerned about taking it back but I thought I would give them the opportunity to correct it. They completed scans on the car and it ended up being a sensor which was not part of the original job. Was notified that I would need to pay for that part and I was understanding. Received call the day the part was in, it was fixed, and it was no charge. His price was fair, corrected all problems with no issue and went above to make sure I was happy.

Tim test drove my poorly running firebird advised me I needed a tuneup, got it in in just a couple days. Got oil change inspection and tune up done in just two days. Car runs like new, was a little more expensive than I thought it would be but it was probably a fair price. I haven't ever got a tune up in my 22 year old firebird so it was probably something I had no idea what it should cost. I will continue to see them for my mechanical needs. They seem trustworthy.

I took my car to Carmen's to get an inspection! HUGE MISTAKE! Carmen's told me my car was horribly dangerous and I needed $700.00 worth of new tires and that's the cheapest tire out there for my Chystler 300..well that was a LIE! So I was driving up Scalp Ave and figured that I'd stop at Advantage and see what they had to say.. never been there before in my entire life! Mechanic came out and said it had about 50% tread left but recommended (not required) that I get a new set before winter so I get better traction in the snow and ice! I asked him if the tires were dangerous or a safety issue..he said no but once again recommended new ones before the snow and ice hits for better traction but could get by with what I had! On top of all this because of Covid my inspection was 30 days expired! The guy at Advantage got me in as soon as possible,didn't try to take me for expensive repairs that didn't need to be done and NEVER tried to up sell me on the most expensive tires they have..didn't try to sell me on tires at all! It's nice to walk into a place where they don't try and take advantage of you! I couldn't recommend this place more especially if you're a Woman..they don't try to take advantage of that or a lack of knowledge about cars!! Definitely will be returning for future business! Visit Advantage with confidence that you'll be treated with respect,great service and not be ripped off! Thank you everyone at Advantage!

Took 2 hours to get a guy to come ump start my car called the guy at the garage was rude and said he’d look for the paperwork so he’d get paid when the get back from lunch. when the guy finally got there it took one try for my car to start. Wouldn’t have been too bad if they could’ve showed up earlier and I wouldn’t have been late to work

Terrible experience getting a tow. John arrived promptly as expected which was a pleasant start. I was asked to pay up front for the towing charge which he initially said was $40. He refused any payment but cash. I had a $20 bill, three $1s and a $50. He didn't have change so I gave him the $50 and was out $10. Then I calculated the amount he said I owed and came up with $38. When I confronted John he said it was easier to "round up" the amount. Still no change given. Then I calculated the mileage the car would be towed only to find he'd inflated the amount so the total was in fact $32 so the total John skimmed from me was $18. He asked for the keys to the car (it is a manual transmission) and must have left them in the ignition in the "run" position, for as the car was being pulled onto the bed the engine started and the car moved forward towards the cab. Who leaves the keys in the ignition in the run position??? I called AAA and registered a complaint with them.

I used to recommend Advantage Auto to everyone. I had great experiences there until recently. Something has changed. Absolutely no customer service. Everytime they say they would call they wouldn't when it came time to talk to me about estimates they made me feel very rushed and like they had no time for me. Had my car there on 2 separate occasions for the same problem... This last time I got my car back it ran horribly... There is no way they test drove it after repairs. All but refused to test a part that is easy to test. With some advice from another garage and a little YouTube we have been able to identify a few small problems that have been contributing to all our issues. I can't figure out how after speaking with us they were unable to diagnose and repair my vehicle. I don't think the mechanics I spoke with even heard half of our complaints. Seriously considering switching garages.
