This company is the biggest joke of all time. Our recycle is bi weekly, it was missed 2 times in a row so we called to have it picked up since it was missed and they told us it would be picked up Friday. Friday came and it wasn’t picked up. I called again and they told me Monday. Monday comes and it isn’t picked up again. I call again on Tuesday and they tell me it would be picked up Thursday. Thursday comes and guess what? it was not picked up again!!
Just got the new 2025 recycling schedule in our Ravenna city water bill.
Going over it I found out that we have to call to find out what to do with shredded paper. Up until now residents were instructed under the "Paper, Newspaper, Junk Mail, Magazines and Receipts heading:
*These can be placed in the recycling bin. For shredded paper please place it in a paper bag and clearly mark it with "SHREDDING".*
I called and found out we can no longer place it in our recycling bin, we have to take it to the recycling center in BRIMFIELD ourselves. We live in downtown Ravenna and I asked if there was anyplace closer or an alternate drop off site, and was told no. Then I was told to throw it out in our regular trash, which we have to pay for separately.
This absolutely defeats the purpose of recycling which we PAY for with our Water, Sewer and Curbside BILL.
The recycling center also has extremely limited days and hours for dropping off recyclables that residents are forced to take to them.
**Note: So far we have no issues with the employees who take care of our curbside pickup.**
Dropped off some motor oil today. I asked an employee where I should place my oil containers, he replies in the cage. didn't see the cage at first. Asked again and received a nasty loud response. I located the cage, kindly said sorry I was looking at the wrong area. Was rudely and completely ignored. This guy is the north end of a south bound horse!!
Just, found out they take cardboard 24/7. I can finally get rid of all these boxes. I can't put them in recycle can, since every other week p/u, we fill it in a week with the other recycling.
We are absolutely thrilled with the exceptional service provided by the truck drivers! Being a family of six with four kids, we sometimes struggle with keeping our recycling in order. However, the drivers have been incredibly kind and understanding. They go above and beyond by relocating our bin when teenage cars obstruct it and even leave us helpful notes on how to correctly recycle specific items. We can confidently say they are the absolute best! Their dedication and thoughtfulness have made our recycling experience truly delightful.
Want to thank the drivers for their continued courteous service and so thankful for the help I received when I called today. I was confused on the pick-up schedule, quickly helped and so pleasant. Not the first time I have had to call and the same woman is so helpful, she even offered to send me a schedule. Thank you for helping our environment.
I've had a great experience so far with their curbside pick up service.
I've used their facility for dropping off recycling as well. The bins are accessible 24/7, which makes dropping off recycled goods easy to work in to your schedule.
If anything could be improved, I suppose it would be communication of little issues or pick-up schedule changes. Overall, they seem to do just fine, and I'm glad just to have recycling pickup after many years here of none here. Extra bonus that finally having such a service drives the local whack-jobs even crazier ("WHAT? You're making me recycle??"). Comedy gold.
We pay for recycling however they expect me to clean up trash that the recycling guys leave behind. Tried to call and speak with someone because I have to live here and she says as a good neighbor I should of helped pick up the trash. I’m not a city worker. Why are we paying you if we have to clean up behind you? Make it make sense!!
We realize that Covid has put a strain on everyone and especially businesses, but to run a company that breaks a contract and won't even work with their customers is downright sad. If you need to cut back services then give notice. If Kimble was to take over the Streetsboro contract on July 16th and couldn't then Portage should have given us a heads up prior to the beginning of a new week. Also our contract reads weekly pickup and if that can't happen we should be out of the box thinkers and give an additional can out or reimburse for the services that were not being rendered.
I visited on 7/4/21. There are several drop-off bins for single-stream recycling (i.e., no need to sort items; just dump them in). Entrance is not clearly marked but it's next to the main entrance to the facility. They accept aluminum & tin cans, cardboard, glass bottles & jars, paper, and plastics. Also motor oil, transmission fluid, and anti-freeze.
Do not use this service. They leave cans at your property and then don't come and empty them on a consistent basis. They claim the City of Kent was paying them and without any notice they just stopped picking up the recyclables in the specific cans since April. If I could give less than 1 star I would. When you call they are not courteous. They are not doing their part for the environment. Very POOR Service.
Wouldn’t even rate a 1 star! Who ever I talked to this morning a female was absolutely horrible and on a power trip. They have missed our house numerous times.
So disappointed in the recycling company. We’re first time home owners and didn’t know the “rules” we put styrofoam and plastic in there, and there was “too many” boxes. I called them because we could not wait another 2 weeks and the guy rudely told me there a sign on the cab that specifically states what we can’t have on it. Like I mentioned, we’re NEW home owners. Never had to do any of this. And not to mention when I went out there and took out all the plastic and styrofoam, he passed our house to get the neighbors house. SO disappointed and we’ve only been living here 4 weeks.
Everyone on my road still waiting on pickup. Regular day 5/23 and it's now the 31st.
Called twice so far was told would be on courtesy pickup route.
Yeah ok still waiting, like most government ran agencies lying and ineptitude seems to be the key ingredients.
They delivered a huge, blue recycling can and dumped in my driveway without permission. Called them several times asking to pick it up - no luck. I have no room to keep it and I don't need it.
I am not worried to get a flat tire here any more. They really cleaned up the parking lot where you drop off your recyclables. It is well organized and each bin is easy to read.
