In regards to purchasing a car battery that was fine. They tested it and it definitely needed to be replaced. What the low rating is for happened after that.
After purchasing, the employee came out to replace it. A few minutes later he told me the terminal was "very corroded and needed to be replaced". They told me that was not something they could do there and I would need to take it somewhere else.
Once an actual mechanic looked at it, it turns out there was nothing wrong with the terminal. The mechanic even said "I'm not sure why they said that - there's nothing wrong with it. The only reasons I can think of is they just did not know how to do it or they did not want to do it at all."
So instead of a "free installation", I ended up paying extra service fees for seemingly no reason.
Well the two girls standing up front having a conversation about their weekend for no help at all, they both just looked at me when I walked in and went back to their teeth sucking conversation, after standing there waiting for someone to wait on me for a few minutes a young girl came out of the back and she assisted me and she was quite helpful and after she filled my my parts need. Upon leaving the other two were still at the other counter talking about how he did not doing me right and I'm fixing to leave him but at least the one young lady was helpful and I got the part that I needed.
Went here with my nephew to get some parts for a truck he is working on.
Staff were friendly and helpful. They did not talk down to him and treated him like an equal.
I stopped in to have someone check my battery. I needed a new one. Apparently my car battery installation requires more than they are allowed to typically do. The manager, Paul said he would take a look at it for me. He actually changed it out, put a new installation kit on it, changed my 2nd battery in the trunk (auxiliary battery) in 40 degree weather and asked me to wait inside where it was warm. Best customer service experience in a long time. Thank you Paul for helping me!!!
Hands down the greatest staff in a parts store I have ever met.
Let me tell you a story. I work nights down the road about 2 miles from this store. On this particular day I ran over a speed bump on my motorcycle and shattered the oil pump in the middle of a rain storm. So I walked to the parts store and the staff opened their arms, their knowledge and even their personal tools to my aid. Six hrs later and two shift changes and one hell of an epic conversation with the beautiful and inquisitive Ms. Angie my bike was pieced together and headed home only to lay it down at 60 mph a mile from home. But I digress...anyway I will be a frequent flyer to the advanced auto of Troutman. Thanks again brother for recognizing the cut, and in turn making a bad day a good memory
I've been going to this store for a long time now, almost 2 years. Bought a drill bit I ended up not using. The next day, Went to return it with the packaging and receipt and they would not do it. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
I’m a land surveyor and my data collector died in the morning when going to a job. I simply cannot do my job without it working properly. Advance Auto Parts was extremely helpful with my situation. The staff here helped me pick the right power inverter that would work in my truck so I could charge my equipment on the go. I am extremely thankful as you guys saved me a lot of time and stress.
Bought a scooter battery. Almost a hundred dollars. Got home. Battery dead as a door nail. Went back. Service was rude. Guy tried to "CHARGE" the battery and give the same defective one back. Waited 45 minutes. Battery still defective. Finally was replaced with new. Kinda shady way of handling customer service IMHO. I'll go to Auto Zone from now on.
The store actually had knowledgeable Associates who could help me. One gentleman went out of his way to look up troubleshooting and resolution ideas for my issue
Like the rest the staff has a high turn around and lacks detailed car knowledge, but they're friendly and usually know what's on their shelves. Good enough. Small store but next day orders.
Best service around Paul, Jacob and Jonathan took care of us when we were traveling and had a big problem. Thanks to them we were back on the road in less than a hour.

I stopped by to get my battery tested and it needed to be replaced. We were back out to replace within five minutes and two gentlemen (Mitchell and Tim ) then worked quickly (in the rain) trying to get the terminal off of the old battery. It turns out the corrosion on it created a weld of sorts and they then quickly replaced the terminal as well. After going back in the store to pay for the additional part the manager just told me to have a good evening and it wasn't necessary to pay for the extra piece. I was thoroughly impressed by the kindness and professionalism that everyone displayed!
Noah was awesome. He and the rest of the crew all chipped in to assist me. I was in quite a bind. Good service does exist. Thank you all.. Merry Christmas
All other parts stores I called didn't have my parts in stock. One even wanted me to pay up front. But not Advance they ordered my parts over phone. Thanks guys you have my business from now on
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! All they do is sit at the company computers and look up videos, the refuse to help anyone unless it's on their time, and the worst part is when they finally do help it's with an attitude and they treat you like your stupid!!
