Do not use this place for your restoration!!!!! Took 1966 Jeep CJ5 into Tony in July 2023, to inquire about paint and motor work!! After talking with him decided to do full restoration!! { this was my wife's uncle's jeep so it was very important to her}!! I asked him to give me a high estimate so we would know what we were looking at, his exact words were " if we have problems it could get up to 65,000-70,000!!! I also asked him about how long, and he said, " it could be 6 months, but plan for 10-12 months"!! 15 months later and 85,000 we have a great looking Jeep, with an oil leak in the rear main and a transfer case that does not work!!!! A Jeep without 4 wheel drive!! On top of that my wife can;t even drive it until we put an excellarator extension on it because the pedals are about 10" off the floor so she has to keep her leg in the air to push the gas!!!
Update: The first time we opened the tailgate the paint on the latch chipped off down to bare metal!!! Really great paint job by a moron!!!!
My car was at Tony's Shop for over three years. There were always excuses why it was taking so long. The real reason I was using Vintage Restoration was because of the Metal Artist Doug and First Class Painter Brad. As the build moved forward the it seemed, my opinion didn't matter. Tony's did. When the painter quit, Tony hired a new one. He was horrible, and he covered the beautiful metal work with 5 gallons of body filler. It was a disaster! When he quit the car sat and sat. When I decide to pull the car to get painted, Tony flipped out told me get everything out of there. We did and moved to a new shop. For the past month, I have been trying to get build list of parts installed. No response. It isn't according to Tony's World. If you have a lifetime to get a car done, this is the place. If you need a place to store your car, this is the place. Doug is a metal artist. Tony is the worst. He thinks his opinion is the only one that matters. This place is two thumbs down.
Tony takes the GOLD as the most pompous and arrogant person I've ever met. Save yourself from piss poor customer service and communication. If you're looking for a professional that will walk through an estimate with you, go somewhere else. His refusal to answer questions and lackluster attempt to earn your business makes him hard to trust. Proceed with caution
Tony and his crew worked on my 1969 Chevy C10 and fixed many previous hack jobs that had been started or hidden. Doug is a magician, and very honest with his approach. Even though another local shop had charged me for a complete electrical overhaul, Doug found that not to be the case and hooked my truck up with new wiring and quick connects. This wasn’t even the primary scope of work, but he knew it was the right thing to do. Once they started working on my frame, they found hidden bandaids that they took care of and then hooked me up with a custom suspension that was on budget! Custom radiator shroud/fans and my engine runs at a constant 180 temp. It is important to support the shops that try and do what they say they are going to do. This was my experience. This truck has an aggressive stance and hugs the curves! Thanks guys!
Tony and his crew did a great job restoring a couple of rusty body panels. Very efficient, professional and easy to work with. I definitely would recommend them for your restoration projects and I will use them again in the future.
Had a 1968 VW Van for over 6 months and spent over $9000 fixing it. It never got fixed to be able to run and he refused to look at it anymore. I had to hire another mechanic to finish fixing it.
Vintage Restoration is the place to take your classic to for some TLC. Can't rave enough about Tony and his crew. They did excellent work on my 62 and it looks and drives better now than it has in a long while.
