1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda.
I was referred to Paul after many did not want to touch my car. I had an exhaust manifold gasket leak (driver side). Paul accepted the challenge without hesitation. Paul went above and beyond the call of duty with my car. Manifolds were warped and had to be planed down. Paul's knowledge and resources made it happen to keep my car original. I asked Paul if he could tune my dual quads. (Edelbrock AVS), Lash my valves and change the plugs. If anyone knows a 426 Hemi, Gen 2, this is not an easy job. Paul tuned my car to perfection. I will admit I have had a bunch of hacks work on my car; because, there were no other options. Manifolds bolts busted in the block (Stage 5 Aluminum heads)and Paul drilled them out and re-tapped every single one so the bolts would screw in perfectly by hand. He also went through the car with a fine tooth comb and fixed small things that I didn't even request or had forgotten about. Amazing mechanic. I would love to have his knowledge on our classic cars. People you get what you pay for! I want it done right the first time and the last time, take it to Paul. Our cars are to special and valuable to have some hack mechanic work on them. I cant thank Paul enough for getting my baby back to what it should be. It has so much power again, idles smoooooooth, starts right up and sounds to perfection. BTW Paul did not ask me to write anything, but I am the type to give credit when credit is due. NO ONE will ever touch me car again, but Paul. Thanks Paul! your a great person and mechanic. It was a pleasure to do business with you and the Cuda thanks you too.
Paul and his team did a great job rebuilding the engine on my Willys Jeep and completing other significant electrical and mechanical work. He has access to an excellent engine mechanic who rebuilt the motor with great care and skill. Highly recommend PK's Garage! 👍👍
This is the first time I’ve ever posted a bad review. I got such terrible service from PK‘s garage, I felt it was necessary to prevent people from suffering in the future.
NEVER TAKE HOUR CAR HERE, Paul and PK garage are doing absolutely terrible work! I will say, he is a very polite and nice guy.
I took an immaculate 1979C 10 stepside to PK for Repair. I had bought the truck from a very reputable restoration company. PK kept coming back with one thing after another he claimed they kept finding, before I knew it I was $6000 into repairs, and I don’t feel the truck was ever 100% right.
I also took him a 1966 Chevelle in mint condition. I asked him to do a full inspection on the car and safety check. The day I got the car back, I drove it for 20 minutes, and it just started cutting off while driving. After the car cutting off about a dozen times, I was able to make it home, with a bunch of smoke pouring out of my dashboard like there was a fire under the dash. The car was NEVER having issues like this prior to me taking it to PK.
This guy is running a cool museum, but they have no idea what they’re doing on the restoration or repair of high-end classic cars. From a mechanic perspective, I feel like I got conned doing business with PK and he got over 10K out of me in the end.

Tried to sell me brakes I didn't need and charged me 40 dollars to rob me. Never did diagnose that I need wheel bearings and rear axle bearings. They will rob you blind! Terrible service.
I went into the shop to see about having an Edelbrock carburetor rebuilt. Paul wound up selling me a used one, which was alot cheaper than rebuilding mine. He even told me that once I put on my truck, that if I had any problem with it, he would give me my money back. To me... I couldn't loose.
I installed the carb and it runs even better than before. Thanks Paul for the hookup, and taking the time to answer all of my questions. Very cool guy !!!
Best known in the southeast for classic car restoration, but in our case, in western NC, services a 1998 Saab 900 and a 2000 Ford Ranger. This is someone who really knows how to repair cars and, if for some reason he can't, he knows where to send you. Stunning that you would find someone like this in such a small town. Family run; fair, friendly, scrupulous. Paul's your man.

Very disappointed. We're from out of town and desperate for a mechanic. Paid a lot of money for him to put the wrong belt on the truck, only to break down less than 60 miles down the road. Refused to make it right so 24 hours later he basically said "good luck" and we're still stranded. I question the morals of anyone who would leave a guy stranded after "taking pride" in fixing things the right way(his words), only for his work to leave us along the side of the road. Since we are from out of town, we feel very very taken advantage of and not valued by this guy in the least.
Editing to say my husband found the correct belt himself, put it on himself, and the issue is fixed. No thanks to this business. Not a happy customer.
I purchased a used 2012 Shelby GT500 in North Carolina but I was from out of state and could not personally see the vehicle. Given the price of the car I wanted it gone over and for me to have the assurance that it was sound in every way. I was referred to Paul as one of the top performance vehicle experts in the Asheville area. He was fantastic to work with in every way and will go out of his way to do anything he can to help you. Even the seller thought he was first class. I purchased the car sight unseen given the extremely thorough inspection that Paul provided. My only disappointment is Paul is not here in Virginia to take care of my new toy!!
