This review is receiving 1 star because I could not post it without giving any stars. My father was admitted to this rehab facility and we immediately checked him out within 2 hours of arriving. When we arrived, the person at the front desk just told us my father's room number, but that's it. My family (along with the ambulette transporters) could not find the room. We wandered the halls until we eventually stumbled upon it. When we approached the nursing station to ask for some help, we were told by the staff to go back to our room and settle ourselves in and they would help us when they were ready. She never came in. We sat in the room for 45 minutes before the nursing supervisor finally came in. She relayed that she had no idea that my father had been discharged from the hospital and that we had arrived at their facility. Not only were a majority of the staff inattentive and unprofessional, the hallways reeked of urine, the room my father was placed had 2 beds and one had not been changed/cleaned since the last patient left (days prior from what we were told) table had opened soda can and tissues, there was a spare mattress lying against the wall with a huge stain on it, no privacy curtain in the room, the closets had clothes, undergarments left behind, no remote control for the TV, etc. This room seemed like a storage room rather than a patient room. Experiencing this firsthand, did not instill any confidence in us to leave our father in the hands of the staff at this facility. It is unfortunate that they advertise themselves as an elegant facility, as this in my opinion is false advertising and misleading to families who are looking for a place to help nurse their loved ones back to health.

I’m surprised there are good reviews for this facility. It is either fake, or the resident did not have many needs. Very few of the staff is qualified. Expect a lot of retaliation from the nurses, CNAs and aides upon filing a concern. I’m talking alliances formed, damaged property and outright hostility toward residents and their families. They will band together to make it so upsetting and difficult for you if you dare voice a concern with the staff. Bully behavior. They are also grossly short staffed. Empathetic care at a 0. Expect your loved one to sit in a soiled diaper for hours on end. While I’m sure many facilities have issues, this place is wildly unprofessional and will make everything VERY personal. A previous review described the staff as deplorable and they could not have been more correct. What a horrible way to live the last years of your life.

The first day when I got at this facility I was welcomed by the staff at Cedar Manor. I met Prince the RN supervisor and he encourageing me about the process in the rehab. I had wonderful aides Charmaine, Hazel and Perry. Rehab was wonderful and the staff are great. I wish i had Regular coffee, so I am looking forward to going home and enjoynng a fresh cup of Regular Coffee. I met with Eva and she was able to help me during my stay at Cedar Manor. I enjoyed Janice my nurse and she was thorough and wonderful. I enjoyed my stay at this facility and will recommend tp anyone in the community that needs rehabilitation.

First time experience at a rehab center. My older sister needed extensive rehab at Cedar Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation, and I was not sure what to expect. Everyone was so wonderful and helpful from nursing staff, Housekeeping to Rehab Department. I needed lots of guidance especially when it came to my sister's insurance. Judi Blatt and Eva were very helpful and patient with me. Highly recommend these ladies and if you ever need any help you can count on them. Thank you, Cedar Manor staff my sister is coming home, stronger and healthier.

My 99-year-old father was at Cedar Manor for 2 months. During that time, they lost one of his hearing aids and refused to acknowledge their responsibility for the loss or reimburse us for part of the cost of replacing it. I would walk down the halls and hear many patient call alarms beeping and patients calling out for help without a response. I think they are understaffed. Some of the staff we met were very helpful, especially an aide Perry, the social worker Judith, and the Physical Therapist Brian.

I am currently resident at Cedar Manor and can't say enough good words about this facility. Rehab is excellent and nursing staff are great, we have become friends with everyone. The food is decent but when it comes for Italian food there is more to be desired. Love everyone in this place!!!!

I had a wonderful experience at Cedar Manor. This is my second time at this facility. When the doctors at White Plains hospital asked me where I want to go for rehab I immediately told them it has to be Cedar Manor in Ossining!!!! The nurses are wonderful and right on target. The aides are amazing and work very hard. PT and OT are exeptional. The food is okay as you would expect in any healthcare facility. Housekeepers are wonderful and help keep my room clean and very attentive. Leaving this facility very happy with the care I received.

I am writing a candid review of the administration, facility and staff of the Cedar Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with delight. Their attention to their residents in their charge was generous and constant. If I had to choose a few adjectives to describe the people and actions of Cedar Manor, they would be highly energetic, sensitive, innovative and inspiring. How do I know this? I was one of their residents! Residents of a Rehab Center have many needs: physical, emotional and psychological. They met all of my needs with professionalism, a polished skill set and kindness. I recommend Cedar Manor without reservation. Residents of Cedar Manor have every advantage to mend and move forward with their lives. I look back with thanks knowing that it was my good fortune to find myself here in my moment of need. Allow me to conclude that I wish them many more years of success with their mission. Over the course of many weeks, they put me back together and on the road to a healthy and happy life. George N. Castellanos, PhD

I would highly recommend this facility. Everyone is so kind from nurse Janet; Takea my nurses aide; my social worker Jean to Eva helping me with my insurance and I would like to thank the rehab department "They gave my life back to me". I must say the aides were excellent and I do have favorites. I'm going home stronger and happier. I would definitely return if I need short term rehab.

I spent 1 month at cedar Manor after breaking my left hip and my left humerus. The rehab department was excellent. They pushed me when I needed to be pushed and they let me rest when I needed to rest. My experience with the nursing staff was a nightmare! Being and registered nurse myself I expected a lot better care. In that one month that I was there I was given one shower and my hair was washed three times, twice in the bed. It took anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours for my call Bell to be answered. The initial 2 days of my stay most of my medication was there However the weekend came and I had no medication available. I was in terrible pain with my arm and was left for 15 hours with no pain medication. I was constantly told how short staffed they were. Some days I did not get a bed bath until 11:00 a.m. I saw the doctor once at 9:00 p.m. on a Friday night while I was being given a bed bath. I did see the nurse practitioner a few times. I would void four times in my diaper because I was afraid of being hurt when I was turned. Many of the CNA's we're very rough with turning and positioning. One night at 3:00 a.m. a CNA came into my room and was prepared to change me wearing her winter coat. I told her I was not comfortable with that and she did remove her coat. However after causing me pain with the diaper change she did not pull down my gown I'll cover me with a sheet. I was left exposed. When she returned to get her coat I asked her if she was going to cover me. She did and then I told her never to come in my room again. I was on the subacute unit. If I was treated this horribly I cannot imagine what the long-term residence must go through. This was literally the worst experience of my life

After reading the somewhat negative reviews, I just stayed here for 2 weeks after a spinal fusion and I was very pleased. Cedar Manor is very, very clean and is in a great setting. The nursing staff is wonderful and caring. Ashley, Ketchna, and Janet did a great job of distributing medications. Aid tech Angela was great and hard working. The food could include more fresh vegetables. The social worker, Jean Ron, was so helpful navigating Medicare and my release. The physical therapy was wonderful but not enough. Overall a great stay. Would definitely return if needed.

A Caring and Compassionate Facility I recently had the experience of having my mother-in-law stay at Cedar Manor, and I’m grateful for the care and support provided by their team. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that Cedar Manor is a place where both the residents and their families are treated with kindness, respect, and compassion. The staff at Cedar Manor was outstanding, always attentive and quick to respond to any of our concerns. The nursing team demonstrated a high level of professionalism, taking the time to explain her care plan and making sure she was comfortable throughout her stay. They were also very communicative with our family, keeping us informed about her progress and any updates regarding her health. The facility itself is well-maintained and welcoming, with clean and comfortable rooms. The communal areas are spacious, and there is a warm, inviting atmosphere throughout. The meals were also well-received, offering a variety of nutritious options, which made a difference in ensuring she had a positive dining experience. One thing that really stood out was the personalized care. Cedar Manor went above and beyond to make my mother-in-law feel at home, and they worked closely with us to make sure her specific needs were met. The social and recreational activities provided were also a wonderful touch, helping to keep her engaged and active during her stay. Overall, Cedar Manor provided exceptional care for my mother-in-law, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a compassionate and professional care facility. We are so grateful for the staff’s dedication and for the comfort they provided during her time there.

My husband had a recent stay at Cedar Manor rehab facility. He received excellent excellent care. The facility is safe and secure. The staff is friendly, courteous, and thoughtful. It’s as close to being at home as as possible the staff is like being surrounded by a loving family in the most difficult of circumstances, our family was cared for, as well as my husband. The camaraderie among staff is evident. That is then reflected in the care they provide their patients. I am a retired medical social worker. Over the years I’d often refer my patients to Cedar Manor. I always received rave reviews for the care received from my patients. Now, I have had first hand experience. My family and I are ever grateful.

My wife just had a recent stay at Cedar Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. This is the 4th time she been at this nursing facility for rehabilitation . This place is exceptionally clean and the premises are safe and secure. They have also done some beautiful renovations to this place. The staff was super friendly to my wife and attended to all her needs. The staff was also very patient with my wife. We worked with a lovely social worker, Wanda. She was really kind and very understanding with catering to my wife's needs. She was also very compassionate about my wife's medical condition of dementia. She was very knowledgeable about the health care system and after my wife was discharged she set-up everything in an efficient manner. Wanda is honestly one of the most kindest and knowledgeable social worker's I have ever met.

This place does not deserve the four stars given. The only reason I gave two stars is because the aides are very compassionate. Other than that, Cedar Manor is just like all the other nursing homes that you hear stories about. If you are unfortunate enough to be there or put a loved one there be prepared to never get a straight answer from them regarding anything concerning you. Also it’s a must that you have someone from home do your laundry as once they take it to wash it you never get your clothes back. And if you do it’s more than 2 weeks later. It’s a must to visit every day to check on your loved one as I feel they just ignore them. It’s like they are doing you a favor taking care of the residents. I most definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

My Aunt has been receiving wonderful care at Cedar Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Everyone is very nice and she always says how good the food is.The Activities Department is especially impressive! Rodica Boanta, Hector, and the rest of the activities staff plan creative events and are genuinely invested in keeping the residents happy and engaged. They make every day interesting and enjoyable!

1year and 11 months ago I had to make the hardest decision of my life about putting my mom in a nursing home. I chose Cedar Manor. My mom was 91 with late stage Alzheimer's. The location was perfect and although the place can use a facelift, the care was wonderful. Theresa at the front desk was lovely, Eva, Lilly, Rodica, Marilyn, Irina, Angela, Janet, Lynne, Diana, Ebony, Arlene, Hillary, Faye, Anne, Clementina, Leona, basically the South wing staff was great (I apologize if I forgot anyone). They work so hard and truly cared for my Mom. The PT staff was great too. Is it Disney Land...NO its a Nursing home, and with the shortage of nurses and aids at times it may have appeared to be chaotic but I never felt my Mom was neglected. My Mom was always dressed and cleaned and up and included in activities. Even in the last week of her life they had her dressed and clean everyday and changed into a night gown at bed time. As her disease progressed and the visits became more stressful the staff supported me as well with reassurance and comfort. When a loved one goes into a nursing home if a family member visits often they can help lessen that chaos. I visited my Mom almost everyday even if sometimes it might have only been for 30 min. I came to know the staff and the other residents as well. When my Mom was accepted into Hospice care I could have moved her into a Hospice facility yet I chose to have her stay in Cedar Manor because of the care and attention to her needs. To the staff at Cedar Manor....Thank You and God Bless.

This was my first time been in a nursing home. At first I was a bit nervous about it. I was made very comfortable, supportive staff and wonderful smile on all. and greeting from everyone. Doctor's nurses rehab maintenance; housekeeping. Rehab staff truly amazing. Very kind and supportive people here. It's time to leave but I am feeling very sad leaving such wonderful people but a happy time to go home. My emotions are all over the place. Beautiful views of Hudson River and beautiful gardens. I will miss everybody!!!

I cannot say enough great things about Cedar Manor. My mom had to go to rehab following a stroke. Everyone was so helpful from admission through discharge. The nursing staff was very caring and patient. The activities staff was very engaging and made sure my mom made it to all of the activities.

We are so grateful to Cedar Manor for their incredible care of my mother-in-law. My mother has been in and out of hospitals and rehabs over the past year, and Cedar Manor is the one place that we would send her back to. Lori Gest, Director of Social Services, was incredible. Super responsive, accommodating and very on top of my mother-in-law's care. In addition, all of the staff that we (and my mother-in-law) came in contact with very kind and caring. The aides, as well as the occupational and physical therapists, all took the time to get to know her as a person and to see to it that her needs were being met. The location of Cedar Manor and the easy parking were the icing on the cake. Thank you Cedar Manor! With gratitude,The Shaw Family

My mother has stayed with Cedar Manor Nursing Home for over two months now. She had two heart procedures and went there for rehabilitation. I can't say enough great words about this facility! Clean facility, excellent staff, and amazing physical therapists. I must mention Ms. Eva Saraci (Director Of Community Relations) as well. She has been kind, patient, caring and gracious with all of my mother's needs while at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Ms. Saraci is also very knowledgeable about health insurance as well. She helped us enroll in a better health care coverage for my mother. Eva Saraci is a rare gem! I definitely would recommend Cedar Manor to anybody that needs nursing and rehabilitation care for their loved one!

Cedar Manor is a dedicated nursing home and rehabilitation center. My father stayed at the nursing home and we returned when my Mom needed rehabilitation. The nurses are competent, and some have better manners than others but they are all professional. The therapists are really nice and show empathy. Mom was frightened to walk after her fall and the staff of Cedar Manor understood this and worked with her. Any time there has been a concern, we have found we can talk to someone and they will address it. I recommend this center. Is it perfect? I think no place is perfect when your so concerned about your loved ones. Nevertheless, I feel I made the right choice for Mom.

I am happy to write this review after being in Cedar Manor for two weeks. I had severe posterior neck surgery and needed care after being in the hospital for 5 day and still could not do anything for myself. The staff and management were amazing. They cater to your every need. They wash you up every day and give you a shower once a week or more if you ask. I got to know many off the staff well since they are always checking on you. I take many meds and they give them to you as the doctors proscribed, before a meal and after a meal. They took my blood sugar 6 times a day, just amazing. I would joke with the cleaning staff because they come in up to 3 times a day to clean and remove trash, keeping up with corona 19 policies. There were no cases of the virus while I was there, again amazing. God bless to all the staff and thank you from he bottom of my heart.

I had to transfer mom from another facility where her condition deteriorated after her stroke because the staff prioritized their breaks and shift changes above caring for her health and hygiene. Their you have to wait attitude despite complaints to management- Now she doesn't have that fear in her eyes when I come to visit. Within a week at Cedar Manor she made tremendous improvements: she smiles, she is well cared for and she shows it. She has shown improvement with the physical and speech therapy I could not ask for better treatment. The professional staff care for her with respect and kindness. Cedar Manor keeps me informed on her condition and treatments and are open to answering questions or concerns. They keep an open communication. They are especially vigilant with the COVID-19 protocols in protecting the residents and staff for which I am grateful.

My experience with Cedar Manor has been very wonderful and above our expectation. My father moved in this caring facility in 2018. I never thought he could get his room while on waiting list. I was referred by our church fellow whose mother used to be the resident ten years. I would say that this is the best senior living institution among the three places he used to stay last three years. Nursing staffs are very responsive, communicative and very compassionate. It was also surprising that they hire Korean speaking nurses in each wing. Because he misses own language and foods, they were the big plus for my father's living. Mr. John Lee is very excellent nurse. I also appreciate that my father did not get the corona virus during the peak of Corona Virus because of their thorough management throughout the place. Thank GOD!!

I want to take this opportunity to express how grateful I was to find Cedar Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. My mother was a patient in the rehabilitation unit at Cedar Manor for ten weeks. When I took the initial tour my first impression was the cleanliness, odor free and engaging environment. In recent years, I had the unfortunate experience of having both my parents spend time in two other facilities, so I had a basis for my comparison. There are so many welcoming people working at Cedar Manor. From the nice women at the reception desk, Admissions (Judi), Nurses, PT/OT staff, social workers, activities staff to the young people manning the ice cream cart, everyone was kind and engaging with my mom and when I greeted them as well. A significant difference to note from other facilities, was the plan of care for my mom. My mom's care was highly individualized and recommendations were based on the actual daily observations of her by the staff. I wish I could remember everyone's name, but the angels I do remember left a lasting impression--Hillary and nurses Abigail and Olivia, who were there to comfort my mom during her last few hours at Cedar Manor. To anyone reading this testimonial and is trying to make the very difficult decision of finding a facility for their loved one, I want to leave you with this thought--in this difficult work of rehabilitative and nursing care (especially with the elderly population) there will likely be a staff member or two who are burned out or jaded. Overall, I found there was genuine kindness and compassion shown by the staff towards those who depended on them for care at Cedar Manor.
