Not a smoker, but I love all the no smoking signs out in the middle of nowhere in the open air... Demanding that you don't smoke.... Ridiculous.

Nice place to sit or walk along the riverfront. Parking area is a bit small but it works out. Pavillion is nice to sit under and I think can be reserved for events. You can also fish off the peer with a valid fishing license. There is a boat ramp and kayak lunch available too.

Very quite most of the time good place to fish also has a public launch for smaller boats

Very quite and clean place. Good for outdoor family outing with a tent and fishing. We got three midium and one big (15lb) carp fish. One creek also falls on the river at the end of the park. Creek has good view after a rainy day.

This was an excellent to go. Pleasant to sit out at a picnic table. Watch the kids play.

Beautiful place to just sit and watch the boats and water. Great view of the mid hudson bridge at night

Nice park, but sometimes I found a lot of dog poop on the lawn. Dog owners should clean after their dogs. I noticed there was not a lot of trash can. Porta potty is available. It's a short walkway along the river. Good area to see 2 bridges and trains.

Beautiful place to see the walkway and the bridge from a distance. Nice view of the water in the daylight. A good place to maybe get yourself together or just be on your own and chill out

Always a great time at this park. Places for the kids to explore and decent fishing

Nice quiet little park by the river. Accessible from the walkway after going down a steep hill. Picnic spots and fishing. If you love trains, cargo trains go by all the time here.

a nice quiet park along the Hudson River. very relaxing, and if you keep your eyes open, you can see lots of wildlife...ducks, bald eagles, and other river life

Gorgeous views of the Hudson. Clean spot. Picnic tables, covered tables, shady trees. Plenty of parking. Views of Marist, walkway, Mid Hudson Bridge and passing boats. Boat docks and a nice boat ramp. You do cross the tracks and I guess you would get stuck by a passing train. Steep road. Wouldn't want to do it in snow or ice.

Such a beautiful place! Always a nice breeze off the water on a hot day.. love watching boats and jet skis (hoping to meet someone with a boat) there are snakes sometimes in the rocks (real snakes, not people, lol)

Beautiful park with excellent views of Poughkeepsie and the passing by trains! green space, picnic tables in a covered area, and benches await very suitors. It is ideally arranged for boats with heavy and plentiful cleats plus 120v receptacles. No running water or proper bathrooms, but I did see a couple of port-a-potttys.

A must visit every time I go up to Poughkeepsie. Sure it's a hike, but Highland is every bit as beautiful and the views just as comparable. Also a great spot to catch commercial rail come through

Great little park, very clean. It has a boat dock and places to sit. It feels large yet is so small. I enjoyed coming here and will come again to take photos.

Great place for relaxing. Spend as much time here to railfan along the shore of the hudson river.

BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!! Peaceful, serene and safe. A great place to get your mind together, take a walk, enjoy your music or simply have a quiet lunch. Minus the local juveniles on saturday nights this place is a perfect hideaway.

A large group of us gathered to celebrate the 4th of July and to watch the firework display. There's plenty of parking, and it is patrolled by local Police which made us feel very safe! Although the "Bob Shepard Highland Landing Park" is on the Hudson, swimming is not allowed. A popular park activity is no activity at all. RELAX! Enjoy spectacular views from the shore. Clear your head and breathe! The Park's activites are as endless as your imagination and with every season you could be doing something different. Or if you really love fishing bring your fishing rod every day of the year. Swimming is not allowed since there isn't any lifeguards. Bring your own equipment for: Boating Kayaking Picnicing (charcoal fires only in the grills provided) Bird watching

Nice but needs a few things... a few garbage cans should be nice so there isn't garbage left on floor and the ground seems always wet wish they had raised it a bit more. No railing so kid have to be looked after very well. Nice boat launch but nothing for kids to play on.
