By far the best repair and service shop in the area. Always fair, great communication between customer and mechanic and they are a high integrity shop. My whole family comes here. Myself, son daughter and my dad.

Steven is excellent. Super nice honest guy who does a great job and does it right the first time. Awesome service and very trustworthy! Whether it’s a simple inspection or any major work he can be counted on. I live locally and have brought all my cars to him and have never had any issue with his work. He even has been courteous to drop my car off in my driveway a few times.

Devin helped me tremendously when I had tire blow out after hitting a deep pothole.Despite having a full schedule already when I drove in, he ordered and installed tire on same day (rush), after placing my spare so I could complete my 300 mile return home on the next day! Thank you!

Called the shop at 11:00am on a Saturday asked about an oil change and inspection. I said I might need brakes but not sure. I was told I could just bring it by now if I liked or make an appointment. I brought them the car and I was able to wait while the oil change was done and the inspection. Got advice on the tires and brakes but the car was good to go. I was there less than an hour. What an amazing experience. Very nice people and great mechanics. Thanks Pennys will recommend you to everybody I know.

I must admit that this is the only place that I will go to from now on they professional reliable honest trustworthy place I brought my Mercedes s500 to have the airshock removed And put a conversion shock on my car It required a lot of work and the work was done on a timely matter and professional came through. These guys know what they are doing . Penney’s Car Care has been trusted by my family for many years and once I got my license I started going here for car maintenance. Steve is truly an amazing mechanic, I see why my family has been going here for several years. My exhaust was super loud and my car really didn’t sound right and I needed an oil change anyway. So much work needed to be done on my car and Steve guaranteed me he would finish my car later that day since I had to explain to him I had school tomorrow. Lo and behold 5:10 I get a call to pick up my car. They are sure to give you the best deals and after driving my car for a few days, I’m absolutely blown away by how amazing my car runs and I am so happy. Steve is an absolute gem and you can for sure trust him with your car. If you want the best price and the best people who can get your car work done in not much time at all come to Penney’s. You won’t be disappointed. So much work done on my 2013 Nissan Versa. They truly fixed my car up well. I feel a lot safer on the road.

I am originally from Bellerose NY. Once I moved to the islands and looking for a good machinic. Dr.Phil spoke very highly about Steve. I decided to try Steve. Steve is one of the best human beings I have ever come across. Honest, Strong Work Ethic, Always Learning and inviting, Great communication skills. If you try Steve, you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I are handicapped. I called Penny's to make an appt for an inspection and oil change. I explained it's a handicapped van....no problem. The day before inspection, I received a phone call saying the mechanic would pick the van up that morning and return it. I was overjoyed. I admire their professionalism and sensitivity to our situation. I strongly recommend Penny's. Their staff is wonderful as are the mechanics. Thank you!

Was recommended here by my co-worker since Mavis has gone down hill and they were starting to take advantage of me. Had a big wheel hub and wheel bearing job done last year at Mavis and it seemed they didn't install the parts correctly or didn't change much at all. When I dropped off my vehicle at Penney's, I was able to meet Steve and his team. He was able to bring me into the garage to show me what was wrong with my vehicle. A lot of car shops don't do this. Steve is an honest mechanic and installs OEM or better parts in your vehicle. They do their research and find the most cost effective solution for you. I live all the way in Massapequa but am willing to make the commute to St. James. I know I will be taken care of and am grateful to have my vehicle serviced there.

Very honest management. These guys are trustworthy and reasonably priced. The new owner Steve was head tech there for years. Has seamlessly taken over the business and continues with the same great service and care.

5 Stars...Steve is a great honest mechanic! I took my car in for inspection with the check engine light on. I knew what the issue was and Steve knew right away. He researched the best and most cost effective solution for me. Just moved to the area and thankfully found a trusted mechanic! Also, very friendly lady behind the desk.

Took my car to penny's to have looked at, because my car was squealing like a pig, turned out that my brakes calipers in the back has seized up. Long story short Steve fixed my car and communicated every day with me, what was going on with my car. Price was fair and was overall a good experience, I would recommend going here for your car needs.

Me and my family have been bringing our cars to Steve for awhile now and he always gives back a good working product and is fair with his prices. Good local neighborhood mechanic, i drive from Huntington just to get to this guy and his crew and I'm never disappointed.

I have been bringing my cars into Penny’s for years now. Their staff is amazing. Aside from being totally honest, they are dependable and have always exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't trust my car with anyone else!!! Steve is a great guy who is very easy to work with. I'm totally happy with Penny's and I'm so glad that I found this repair shop.

Horrible service provided! I came into Penneys Car Care in hopes to have an alternator, that I provided, simply installed in my 2001 Ford Taurus. My main mechanic is a ways away and I could not make the trip due to my alternator issue. Initially, I was under the impression that everything will be taken care of in a cost effective and timely fashion by Steve and his crew; but boy was I wrong. When I dropped my car off Thursday morning at 7:45 A.M., no steering wheel issues were present; but miraculously at 4:30 P.M., that same day, I cannot turn the wheel in either direction a full turn. Figuring I will speak to a member of Steve's staff the following day (Friday), I waited till morning to do so. When I spoke with one of the members, I was assured nothing was wrong with my steering wheel. Being completely irritated with the fact that I was told nothing was wrong, when clearly something was wrong with my steering wheel, I took my car to my main mechanic now that my alternator was replaced and was notified that Steve and his crew had broken my Power Steering Pump, as well as my Power Steering Cooler Tube. As they are closed on Sundays, I waited until Monday to discuss the situation with Steve personally. When confronted, Steve knew exactly what the issue was before I even spoke a word, and insisted that we spoke outside, before the discussion of his poor service wards away his potential customers. I provided Steve with my new bill of $540.00 for his mistakes and was told in an arrogant fashion that there is nothing he can do about this. Not only was my care completely unsafe to drive, Steve claimed that nothing was wrong with the steering wheel and it was simply "wear and tear of an older car."

Steve and his crew most honest caring mechanics I ever met. They took my care in the morning in 2 hrs it was done. Constantly getting my oil change by them. They are courteous and proffessional. I recommend my family,friends and anybody else I know .

A wonderful group, always helpful. Always fair, honest. They do superb work at a fair price. I've been taking my cars there for 20 years. They have a warm, comfortable and inviting waiting room, I give them my highest praise.

This place it terrific. They are top notch and great people to deal with. They have a comfortable waiting room and they stand behind their work. Steve is the only guy I trust my car with. I have been dealing with auto mechanics for many years and frankly, it's always a case of damage control...you never know how bad the experience will be. Then I found Penneys and Steve. Talk about night and day! I've sent three different cars to him for service ranging from a simple inspection to major front end work. I've always found him to be straightforward, honest and forthright. In fact, he's wasted hours rebuilding a switch in 2005 Audi, so I wouldn't have to pay $1500 for a new one - and its worked ever since. He has stayed open late to accommodate my schedule and treated the many family members and friends I have sent to him over the years like gold. I myself was referred to him by a family member that was thoroughly impressed by the way Steve conducts his business. In short, Steve seems to be on a one-man mission to change the way people think about auto mechanics and I consider him a trusted friend and adviser on the subject of safe and reliable transportation.
