Broke down near Stewart Airport and called Superior Transmission. Taylor was super nice and helpful over the phone, and the mechanic dude (I think his name was Christopher) got my Subaru fixed up at a really fair price. 30k miles later and it’s still running perfectly—definitely recommend this shop!

Superior Transmission & auto in New Windsor is top-notch. My 2017 Silverado transmission needed to be rebuilt after facing the classic signs of a torque converter fail. Chris got me in right away and even offered a free tow for doing the transmission work. He walked me through a detailed rebuild plan and called back with the diagnosis before proceeding with any work. He had everything fixed within the same week which was a huge advantage over other shops as well. Honest, fast, and professional—highly recommend!

I have never experienced a shop like this before and I will now go into full detail of said experience. I own a 2002 jeep wrangler sport and had been slowly replacing sensors and parts to get it where it needs to be I only had about 3 sensors left to replace only for the engine block to crack. I spent too much money on this car to scrape/sell it so I needed an engine swap. Called these guys almost right before they closed asking how much it was to tow the car and when they could do it, they gave me a price and said they could come right over to pick it up even though at this point they were already closed they came and picked it up within an hour. Only about two days later they found an engine with only 90k on it and in great shape, after it had arrived they kept me in the loop with the whole process, how long it would take, when the engine arrived etc. few weeks go by and I get the call saying the car purrs like a kitten, MUSIC TO MY EARS to hear them say that, and on top of it all they fixed the AC which had been busted for a while now, really shows the extra mile they went and they really meant it when they said they fixed the AC it’s ICE COLD now. go to pick it up from the shop I brought cash to pay for the job but came 50$ short was ready to pay on card but they said not to worry about it at all and just leave a review. turning the car on and having it start right up with that cold AC and no check engine light brought me so much satisfaction you have no idea. That all being said the work was fantastic, the receptionist was polite and helpful, and the mechanics did awesome work. The car still needs some stuff done to it, and I will 100% be bringing it back to them for those jobs 10/10 experience.

So my 2016 Fiat X stopped running just died on the side of the road I love my Fiat but most people don't love working on them.Had it towed to Superior transmission after first mechanic couldn't diagnose the problem accurately.Chris looked at my car diagnose the problem called me back with a detailed explanation, a price quote and a time frame of when it would be done.recived my vehicle back on the day he quoted me at the price he quoted me no surprises no hassle my Fiat runs better then ever could not be happier can not say enough about Chris and his staff total professionals.

My 2021 Silverado 2500HD had a significant oil leak coming from the oil cooler line. This is a known issue with Chevy/GMC. I purchased the part thinking I could do it myself and after getting the install spec's I chose to let the pro's do it. Chris' shop is down the road from where we live and I chose to keep my business local. It was the reviews I found on the internet that made me trust this place knew what they were doing. Chris and his crew were able to fix my truck in a timely manner and also saved me several hundred dollars. I’ve been working with Chris for about four years on my vehicles. He’s alway been pleasant and polite with a can-do attitude. My experience with him has been honest to the point that I had a $2500 oil pump replacement with him. The pressure gauge dropped to zero. Chris took my vehicle right away. Come to find out it developed a sludge problem after about a month. Chris made the necessary repairs that was a clogged pressure sensor screen. There was no additional charge. Just a smile and a handshake.

These guys go above and beyond! Money is not their principal and primary motive but the urge to put a smile on someone’s face! They diagnosed my car and did not charge me a dime, gave me free advise, a thing unheard of in other so called shops who charge an arm and a leg for same service! Highly recommended!

I showed up to Chris’s shop without an appointment bc my Jeep’s engine light came on and, his shop is considered in-network to my extended warranty coverage. Chris was great, from the beginning he explained how the warranty claim process worked and ensured they would get it fixed. I was happy that my extended warranty coverage led me to his shop because I prefer to support small business. By the next afternoon my vehicle was fully repaired. Taylor who runs the office was also a pleasure to deal with. I’ve been in the area for 6 years and have yet to find a “car guy” until now…thanks, Chris and Taylor you’ve earned my business and recommendation to anyone else looking for a reputable shop with integrity.

This place is amazing! I called and booked an appointment thinking that I needed an expensive to part replaced on my car, worried because I didn't have a lot of money. As soon as my car got here, they started working on it and called me in to look under the hood. I was told that the part was not needed because apparently a bolt just needed to be tightened! All I ended up paying for was an inspection! They made my holiday season! Honest, speedy work and great customer service, I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Chris was very accommodating and honest when looking at my car and then fixing the problem which thank G-d was much less of an issue than I had expected. He took the time to talk to me and explain me the situation and make sure all was right. I truly appreciate his service and professionalism! Highly recommended!

This many well written reviews helped me choose the transmission repair shop I felt I could trust for an honest opinion and price. I brought my suburban in due to some signs and symptoms I noticed may indicate an issue. They quickly diagnosed the problem and showed this was common in my make, model and year. The fact that they repaired so many of these made me feel better, in that they had experience in it. They were very communicative throughout, honest about pricing, and quickly found alternatives to parts that were out of stock. The whole process took about 1 week. The transmission was rebuilt with upgraded parts to ensure more longevity and reliability. I recommend this shop.

Kind, professional, and affordable. Auto places can always be a role of the dice, but these guys were honest straightforward and didn't promise anything that they couldn't deliver. They are clearly professional and other stuff, although I can't speak to the range of different vehicles that they specialize in. From my point of view if you run your business with professionalism and consideration like these guys do they are trustworthy.

I brought my 2018 Chevy 2500 to superior after it started making a noise. Turned out to be my transmission. It was actually a really cool process Chris let me watch him actually tear it down, showed me the problem and even let me come back in to watch him build it. It was interesting to see all the parts and how a little bit of metal can really effect and erode parts. Chris gave me the option of just updating the parts or doing a heavy duty rebuild I tow with it and load the bed up pretty bad so I chose to do the heavy duty rebuild. Chris even showed me the differences between the updated parts and the heavy duty parts which was really cool. Overall I had an great experience with Superior the staff was super nice and I really appreciated being able to watch the process and see what went into the rebuilding of the transmission. Chris really knew his stuff, and was very helpful. I was very impressed with the whole thing. My truck feels great and I already had a load of wood in it and even trailered a friends motorcycle and it’s never felt better! Thanks Chris!

I recently brought my wife's 16 RAV4 to Superior Transmission because it wasn't going in reverse. Chris and his staff were very friendly, upfront and helpful. Chris was able to fix my car in a timely manner and for a very reasonable price. I was kept update on repairs and if I had a question it was answered quickly. My car runs great now. I had my transmission rebuilt here. They were fast and easy to work with. my truck is driving great. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have there transmission rebuilt or even looked at. the owner has so much knowledge about transmissions and he even keeps the parts so you can see with your own eyes what caused the damage.

My transmission went in my 2014 dodge ram diesel, after calling around I ended up talking to Chris and he was knowledgeable and helped me have it towed to the shop. The whole process was easy and took the stress out of the repairs to be honest. I figured the transmission would take a few weeks to repair but he had it back to me in less than two weeks. When I got my truck back it drove like new again. Chris went over the options of just doing updates to the trans or a heavy duty update and I went with the heavy duty for towing and I couldn’t be happier. I can’t wait to tow my boat next season with it. Chris even gave me a photo of the transmission before and after which was pretty cool. I wholeheartedly believe this is probably the best transmission shop in new Windsor if not the Hudson valley. They are thorough and take there time to ensure no issues down the road. They will now have me as a long term customer. There customer service is great and they actually answer the phones! Cannot stress enough how great this place was.

We had a flat tire that required repair, searched and found superior, which is located behind a used car dealer. We certainly did not want to continue on the highway on the donut spare. Pete the owner was very pleasant to deal with. We got to talking and I found him to be a really nice guy. Pity he is just far enough from where we live to have him as our regular mechanic. I will be very happy to take major repairs to him anyway. He had us turned around and on the road in 20 minutes and his pricing was very reasonable. I got a good vibe from the guy.
