Went on a seal walk today and it was so great! Especially for how little it costs. The center is amazing and the tour guide (unfortunately I didn't get his name) was super friendly and educational. He really seemed to care about his job and was super knowledgeable. Definitely an awesome place to check out for the whole family and to donate to!!

The place rocks! Very educational and interesting for combating climate change. It's a lovely building, with very interactive exhibits that explain important sustainability concepts in laymans terms. It also included appropriate calls to action and suggestions for daily life.

This little museum has something for people of all ages: informative historic and scientific videos, infographics, fun microscope activities and entertainment for kids. Bird watching platforms and beach access add to the list of the attractions.

A very informative center to teach about marine life in Long Island and power generation. Make this a part of your Jones Beach Summer Beach trips

I can't believe they shut down the greatest field at Jones Beach for this thing.

Lovely educational centre and the paths are great. Was a bit disappointed that the electric car chargers have been broken for some time which seems against the messaging.

Such a nice place, the staff was amazing, all seem genuinely happy and kind. Wonderful experience. Went on a day they had an event( wild wild West end) , so nicely planned and executed! Kids (5 and 7) had a blast! Center was beautiful clean and full of information and fun!

Beautiful. Thoughtful. Content was easy to understand and explain. Enjoyed our time there. I wish there were more places like this on Long Island.

Great little conservation centre with family-friendly exhibits! Friendly staff, amazing facilities One note: the beach is a fairly long walk (~10-15min) from the centre

The new Nature Center is beautifully made with nice exhibits, relaxing outdoor seating, EV charging parking lot and very nice restrooms. The walk to the beach from here is relatively short.

Very interesting. Some good information and some things I'd like to know more about. Some methods, tried and true... while others, we will see how these ideas play out, over the next few decades. As a conservationist at heart, I hope that more of these innovations become practical, less obtrusive and increasingly more useful over time.

Met up briefly at the center for their Seal Walk. Really nice interactive exhibits for kids to play around in. I would love to go back and explore it a bit more.

This place is small and awesome. And admission is free! It has something for all ages. From live animals to games and kinetic sand. And everything teaches you about energy and nature. They also have some great classes.

Love this place for me and the kids! don’t miss the small outdoor music area by parking lot. my kids love the kinetic sand, giant light bright and hands on fish tank

Took my 7 year old and her friend and they had a nice time. The microscope setup is great. I could take or leave the kinetic sand trough but they both liked it! The touch tank is only open for touching at certain times, so we’ll hopefully go back when it’s open.

Brand new facility. Adding new displays (touch tank!) and classes all the time. Went on a seal walk. Very informative. Great for all ages.

Visited with my 8 yo daughter, she absolutely loved the interactive displays, microscopes and experiments, so we have spent a lot of time to explore all of it. This is the way to teach them, and of course also the parents. Everybody should know how to properly insulate houses as it is nicely shown here.

Great center for all ages with easy access from the Meadowbrook. Indoor and outdoor spaces that are family friendly.

One of the best family activities on Long Island. Great programs and events for kids. Dissecting a squid was my favorite!

INCREDIBLE! The JB Energy and Nature Center explains the science and history of energy through beautiful interactive exhibits for children and adults. Located on the west end of Jones Beach, the center overlooks a stunning view of the ocean and dunes. The hospitable and knowledgeable staff offer tours for schools and the general public. This is a Long Island treasure with something for everyone to enjoy.

My family has missed the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center, which has since been closed, so we made a trip here instead. The building is absolutely beautiful and has a lot of outdoor deck space with great views of the ocean. The museum is free and has two sections- one devoted to nature and one devoted to energy. On the nature side there is a really awesome exhibit that shows how Long Island was formed by the various geological forces over the past 100,000 years. The energy side is a great resource for anyone interested in environmental science. Outdoors there is an educational walkway in the front of the building that teaches about local animals and flowers. On the parking lot side of the building there is also an outdoor area where kids can play outdoor instruments as well. I walked with my son the the ocean as well, about a 10 minute walk. The only disappointment I had with the center was some of the missing interactive features that were at the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center. The old center had an interactive sand exhibit where kids could use molds to create animals out of sand. There were also a lot of animal beanie babies that my children loved to play with. I am guessing that the center is still not a finished product and that Covid-19 is limiting some of the exhibits that can be presented. All in all, a great place to go- looking forward to participating in some of their nature programs as well.

Want to recommend the lecture series by the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center. Mr Fred Golofaro's Gear Up for the Surf lecture was tremendously informative. He's an authority on LI fishing and his willingness to share his expertise is refreshing. Jones Beach is a beautiful area and worth the visit but try the lecture series, a well. I can't recommend them enough.

Just visited for the first time, this place is very well done. Each exhibit is interactive and contains a ton of interesting information. There is a great outdoor kids play area with musical instruments and there are trails that go through the dunes. Learn about the new york power grid and how it is being converted to renewable resources while also exploring the wildlife of the sea shore.
