I travel quite frequently for business and as a women traveling alone, safety is my main priority. I am a loyal Hilton customer and this was my first time staying at this location. 5++ stars for the front desk staff, location, safety, views and cleanliness of the rooms. The 3 star rating on the room was directly related to the bathroom, which needed a major upgrade. I have previously stayed at locations in Glenpointe, New Brunswick, NJ; Allentown, Harrisburg and York, PA and this is the only hotel that does not have a walk in shower. There were cracks in the bathtub enamel and the shower curtain must have been 5 years old, with no liner. The wallpaper was peeling and you could see the drywall at the base of the shower curtain rod. I was just very surprised by the condition of the bathroom. With the exception of the bathroom, I would definitely recommend this location. Major pluses were a commercial corridor with ample restaurants and retails shops within the hotel complex, and the ease of traveling into NYC (took about 20-25 minutes in rush hour traffic). Will definitely be staying again.
Nothing is better than a hotel near NYC with free parking. The breakfast is one of the best of Hilton. The room is clean. If I visit NY again I will stay here
Dated hotel. Only reason for the two stars is the convenience of location and a basic kitchen facility. The whole room shakes if the dishwasher is on. Sofa bed so old. Laundry is available at a charge. Breakfast is a nightmare everyday. Extremely overcrowded and food always runs out even at 8am. No space to walk and no space to sit. It’s like that starting from 6am all the way to 10am as we tried going at different times. Super old basic hotel. Avoid if you can as not usual Hilton or Marriott standards.
Wife and I (Texas) planned a birthday/NYC Christmas trip for our family. We came across Homewood Suites in Edgewater, NJ, for budgeting/value reasons. This hotel DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! From the time we were greeted to the time we left, we always felt welcomed and satisfied! The entire staff at this particular location is top notch and on top of their game without missing a beat!! From front desk to housekeeping always making sure guests are priority! Our family vacation was supposed to run from Dec 17th through Dec 20th 2025, but after our flight was canceled around Saturday morning, my wife and I were scrambling on what to do next. After researching all of our options, it was cheaper for us to stay the extra days until our next available flight (Wednesday Dec 24th), and the front desk staff did everything possible to make sure we had a room to stay for the added days, mind you, it was Christmas week, which I'm sure is one of their busiest times of the year!!! They went above and beyond, and for that, I'm truly grateful!! Needless to say, I would recommend this property for anyone traveling to the NJ/NYC area, for the view, comfort, and hospitality!!
The staff was really good. Professional and always ready to help out with any questions or concerns. Coffee could be better but other than that good breakfast selection. Stayed over the weekend so they had waffles and eggs which wer good. Rooms wer clean, spacious and really comfortable. Easy to travel as the bus stop to take u to new York was right opposite with 5 min walk. And while coming back the stop would drop you right outside the hotel. So all in all a great place to stay if you're visiting.
Don’t eat the breakfast sausage 3 days in a row I don’t think they serve bacon the eggs, potatoes and coffee were all cold the yogurt was expired the room is out dated the wallpaper in the bathroom had some peeling. When I nicely brought the breakfast issues to the attention to the front desk the blonde at the desk responded this is expected to happen not the kind of response I was looking for. Positives:| • Fantastic location – very easy to drive into New York City, with convenient parking available.| • Absolutely stunning views across the river – better than expected.| • Plenty of local shops and amenities nearby, which made day-to-day things really easy.| • Having the in-room kitchen was extremely useful, especially for longer stays.| • I only tried breakfast once, but it’s the usual standard you’d expect from the Hilton brands like Hampton/Home2/Homewood.||Things to be aware of:| • If your room faces the main road, noise levels can be quite high, especially at night. Worth requesting a river-facing room if possible.
This hotel is located very close to the buses going in to NYC so it worked out perfectly for our family trip. One of the stops is literally right out front of the hotel. The breakfast was ok, some of the food tased a little….not so fresh!? But they have enough variety that you should be able to find something to hold you over. We checked in on Wednesday afternoon and was delighted to learn that every Wednesday night they have a few hours where they serve FREE beer, wine and snacks. When we finally got settled into our room we had a bit of an issue. It was around 10:30 at night so I called the front desk and the lady immediately resolved it. She came up to the room and took care of it herself and was very helpful. The next day we spoke to the manager Steve and he was extremely helpful. He comped us for that single nights stay and was very proactive in making sure we were taken care of. If i ever travel back to this area I will definitely stay here again.

The place is at a good location, you can get to metro station and most places for food, drinks and shopping within 10 minutes walking distance
Rooms are nice and almost completely updated- everything in the bathroom was weirdly mismatched.
The people working the desk were very nice- but besides checking in there is really no service.
The store had a great selection!
Very easy to get ubers/Lyft to ferry to NYC. Also a ton of great restaurants very near by

- 1 Bed suite NYC view room has great views
- Includes all kitchen items
- parking is free and there are lot of parking lots available in the garage
- Good breakfast till 10 am
- Lot of convenient stores like target , Safeway , CVS nearby
One minor issue was just two washer/Dryer available with coin based - Should have more with pay using card
We really liked our stay last week at Homewood Suites (we stayed 8 nights!), the room was clean, and they cleaned it everyday. And the view was gorgeous!
The breakfast buffet was good, and we loved the fresh fruit everyday and the waffels on Saturday and Sunday, plus the chicken carnitas were a hit. The buffet/cleaning staff worked really hard. And as a sidenote: people just clean up after yourself! It is not so difficult to put your used plates at the counter!
The kids loved that they could get hot chocolate during the day!
Around the hotel are enough restaurants and shops (loved Lolitas, didn't love daisy's grill). Plus if you take the bus 158 it is a short ride to downtown Manhattan!
Also liked the fact I could do laundry, so make sure you have enough quarters (and detergent!)
Our only "complaint" is the kids that are staying longer at the suites are hanging around the entrance and lobby, literally hanging on the counter of the lobby.
For the most part the hotel is nice. The lobby was clean, welcoming and well lit. If I had a reason to stay in New Jersey again, I would probably go back. It wasn't ideal for travel into NYC (just as an FYI not as a knock to the hotel). One major concern was housekeeping. We elected to have housekeeping clean the room after the first day. They didn't replenish the toliet paper. When the FOUR of us checked in there were 2 half rolls. One was out by the next morning. Housekeeping didn't replace them. I had to go down to the front desk for toliet paper. The body wash ran out after 1 night of showering. 2 out of 4 of us brought body wash, so we didn't use that much. Housekeeping also didn't refill it. When I mentioned it to the front desk they said you have to ask for them to replenish the body wash. That was kind of weird to me seeing how it is permanently affixed to the wall but okay. The biggest issue was the AC leaking. On night one, we discovered the carpet was super wet. We put a towel down to soak up at least a bit of the water. The white towel showed just how extremely dirty the carpet was. On day 2, the carpet was still soaking wet. We called for maintenance. When the engineer arrived he knew where the issue was without being told. His excuse was that the AC was working harder because someone forgot to put in a new filter. Makes sense because there was dirty on left in a closet in the room.
Very nice experience. The rooms are very comfortable. The service is good. People are very friendly, everywhere, recepción, room service, breakfast service. The American breakfast is very good. The free parking is a plus.
Excellent place to stay. The staff are helpful, the free breakfast is well-prepared, and when I found that I had asked for the wrong kind of room, Celia at the desk and GM Steven were very helpful for me to make the switch even though the hotel was nearly full. This is a great place to stay; we will be back here again.
How Suite it is! New York city… so easy to get to from across The Hudson River in beautiful Edgewater New Jersey. Only minutes away by ferry on the water. The hotel is new and the rooms are spacious with great showers a nice brand free breakfast. Broadway and Museums await you after a good nights sleep on luxurious sheets and a great bed.
I booked this stay because it was only a few miles from Harlem where I had to work. The accessibility to food, shopping, and general needs is great!!! Going across the bridge, through the tunnel, or to LGA airport costs $15+ extra in an Uber. If NYC is where you are headed, be aware of these charges. Huge shout out to Carlos that works the front desk! Thank you for doing what you do! The kitchen and housekeeping staff are absolutely amazing! 4 stars in service are ONLY because of the few front desk staff that members that would prefer to chat to each other and make customers feel like they are intruding on a gossip session when they need something, which is totally rude! The parking parking, breakfast, rooms, and amenities are great!!
I am a longtime Hilton Honors member and book with the Hilton brand whenever I can. We’ve never stayed at a Homewood Suites before and will never do so again. This place needs a major overhaul and fast! The main hallways are nice. Everything else seems like they took an old rundown hotel and partially updated only some of the fixtures. The bathroom and kitchen are way outdated. We booked a whirlpool room because it was “cheaper” and big mistake! It has this weird window / screen over it instead of a wall so you can hear and smell what goes on the bathroom. I definitely expected more when paying $300/nt. On the plus side, we had a nice partial view of NYC and a large tv. Do yourself a favor and keep on with your search!

We booked a room with two queen beds and a sofa bed. It accommodated 6 people without any issues. Great location , great staff , good breakfast , ample parking , clean rooms and washroom. Nothing to complain about.
Perfect suite to fit our entire family in one room. You cannot beat seeing the Manhattan skyline from your room either. Bathroom could use some work. Mainly the shower. But the beds were clean and cozy. Kitchen was also clean and convenient. Free breakfast in the morning was good. Make your own waffle station, fruit, eggs, corn beef hash. Free parking to was a plus!
Great spot to rest for the night on our road trip from Boston to Maryland since it's about halfway. Close to the American Dream Mall on our way out and little Japan and Korea areas. The room was clean but not excessively spacious. A suite was perfect for us in the bedroom and the baby sleeping in the living room. Breakfast was included which is always a plus.
I've stayed here many times over the past several years and I always have a wonderful time. The place is clean, the staff are attentive, and it's in a good location. Just wish the shuttle service was still available.
Looking for a hotel in the New York City area was overwhelming and a nightmare! I’m so glad I found this hotel. It has a great location, right off of the bus line, making getting into New York City quite easy. I also love the suburban vibe of Edgewater and the Easily accessible, restaurants, and shops in the mix use development that the hotel is a part of. The layout with the door separating the living room and the bedroom was perfect for our family of six + our dog. The rooms were nice and clean, and the views of Manhattan were incredible! The hotel is also located a short walk from a nice nature walk along the water overlooking Manhattan. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was pretty good with hot and cold options. I will definitely be back next time I’m in the New York City area.
We stayed for 12 days - fantastic room, fantastic staff, very helpful, concierge style helpful staff! The free parking is amazing and options for travel to NYC and other parts of NJ are easily found. The breakfast is very good, and changes a bit daily for variety. We had friends come visit us at the hotel and we used the lobby/breakfast tables and benches for seating and spent a nice afternoon chatting with our friends like it was our living room. Super close to shopping stores, grocery, clothing and shoes, and the Promenade has 20 stores within walking distance. Walk to dinner at Tommy's or OPH or to shop at Ulta. We plan on returning yearly when we visit NY.
We stayed for a night first time at this hotel but we’ve been to several different Hilton Hotels and this one was more disappointing than others. The location is great as it’s right in the shopping plaza. However, the parking lot and entrance was a bit confusing at first, thankfully we were able to call and they helped out navigate that. The room itself was nice, little kitchen, living room and the bedroom area were all clean. Wish the bathroom was a bit bigger. The negatives for me was the walls be thin and is being woken up by the noise of someone talking on the phone in the next room at 1am. The breakfast was such a let down. It’s crowded, only has 1 waffle maker, and the food was not good.
