My car was lunching when going up hills. My husband chose to take it to a tranny shop because he thought it was the transmission. We were told it was the spark plugs and $200 later the owner said it fixed the issue. It didn't. We took it to the dealership and the torque converter was slipping, transmission fluid was burnt and it was full of metal. This type of transmission you have to replace. Cost $8,600. We called the owner and he admitted he NEVER checked the transmission and was just going off a misfire code. He said he was sorry but we still needed the spark plugs. My car is NOT worth a transmission replacement so those new spark plugs are doing great in my dead car.
Extremely pleased! They repaired my Infiniti, and it’s now running like a charm. I highly recommend this place. Their fees are very reasonable and honest.
Asked to get my transmission rebuilt in my custom 1941 street rod and the transmission tech tells me exactly this, I won’t do it because the motor and transmission are too much horse power for that car. This car is a 25 year old build, not one problem in 25 years with that set up. Just needed a price on a rebuild. I wouldn’t recommend this place, not very professional.
A1 Thomas Automotive is the only shop I trust in the state of Missouri. Honest and precise, They do better work at a price you can afford. Gene is a treasure. I am thrilled to use this shop and have zero regrets doing so.

Gene Thomas is a very knowledgeable mechanic, and he is very honest, and the charges for his work and repairs have always been very fair. I have always been very grateful to have such an honest, reputable and experienced mechanic like him to take care of any mechanical issues. This auto repair garage charged More than the local Ford Dealer to service my 11 yo Ford. $100 for oil change!! This is a very expensive choice for car repairs!!
The only reason I thought only about that being a 3 is because that's what I got from trying to get a call back for a quote so don't take it seriously or personally maybe you were too busy for me to get a phone call back just saying. I treat people like the way they treat me and my family a bit of life and different in respect. I felt like a loser asking for a simple quote. Andy was never treated like that.
Great place. I thought my transmission was grinding or possibly driveshaft problem. Took it to A1 Thomas and they were honest, it ended up being loose bolts on transmission housing, they fixed plus my drain pan leak. Finally a honest mechanic who helped me save money! 5 stars great group of guys! Very smart group! Highly recommended! Thanks A1 Thomas
When I didn't know who to trust anymore where to take my vehicle for repairs, I found this place and not only did they take care of the problem the first time they didn't take advantage of me as it was very reasonably priced and they didn't try to fix something that wasn't broke. They restored some of my faith in people.
