Wish there was a 0-star rating. They pulled my car out of the ditch on I-75 on Saturday. The driver was extremely rude, ripped my exhaust off my car, and ripped some of the trim off. $246 for a tow. You should be paying me for ripping my exhaust off and part of my trim on the car. I will never in a million years deal with such crappy individuals. If the owner sees this, please reach out.
Heather at dispatch for Ron’s wrecker has become like that big sister you get to call whenever things just aren’t going so well. For the last 20 years that I’ve lived in this community, she’s been there to send help for several lockouts, a few “in the ditch” issues, sometimes twice in one week, and a crash involving my kiddos’ car getting totaled. Every time I’m met with concern and a touch of humor to lighten the situation. They’ve always worked seamlessly with my insurance agent, for which I am grateful. Today for the first time, I’ll go in to the office to sign an invoice (my employee couldn’t sign it) and I’ll get to actually meet Heather! Thank you guys for your outstanding service to our community!
Usually when I call for a tow my insurance pays for it, never had any issues.
This past thanksgiving weekend a friend got stuck at the bottom of a hill at the ridge golf resort. Ron’s came out and the driver got stuck, and ended up calling for another wrecker. It took 2 wreckers to pull a ford focus up a short steep hill.
After receiving an ungodly amount of sas from the first guy who got stuck, when it came to the bill they charged DOUBLE because of the lack of knowledge of the first driver. Then when asked if he could tow it to town we were met with “there are 5 others waiting because of this”
Uhm sir, you got suck…. and you can’t blame the drivers for shitty weather….
Got caught up exceeding my vehicle's handling limitations this morning during a snow squall at the old 27 roundabout.
Called..4 something a.m. (sorry I woke you) and Jeff (I believe) hooked and winched me out. Got there pretty damn quick too.

Anybody who needs to call a tow truck is likely having a bad day and I could tell that Ron's fully understands that. Their friendliness and responsiveness was greatly appreciated - polite, professional, prompt and at an agreeable price. Thank you!
On 5/12/25, my older vehicle - overheated on NB - I75 traveling from downstate. Numerous towing services were unable to help in a timely manner. Ron’s Towing was recommended by another towing company. Excellent service arrived within (30) minutes. This was a long tow to a dealership in Petoskey. I would definitely use and recommend Ron’s Towing.
Called Ron’s towing very polite and courteous, quick response I ended up canceling because I had found other arrangements, but as I was canceling, the record showed up he was very understanding and they still allowed me to cancel the call overall I have to say it was a positive experience with this. Most companies would’ve thrown a fit at that point they did not, very polite people if I need a wrecker, I would be using them again and this is in the future
WISH YOU COULD DO 0 STARS The absolute most rude and ignorant AND LIERS people you will ever meet in your life gauranteed. they hook the car up and start pulling it onto the wrecker woth my daughter getting her stuff from he trunk. they don't even ask were we want it towed tell us it has to come back to our lot WHICH WAS A HUGE LIE TO GET STORAGE FEES. Call to find out what to do to get car old lady on phone tells us you shouldn't of waited until 10 minutes before we close and was ignorant as could be also. Told her we are still in hospital and she says not my problem we close in 10 minutes. DONT GET RIPPED OFF OR TREATED LIKE GARBAGE AND LIED TO BY THESE IGNORANT PEOPLE
It was a Monday morning, and i needed a light duty plow truck towed to the mechanic, the lady that answered the phone at Rons was so polite, I explained to her the mechanic was scheduled out a week, so I let her know I was not in a hurry and i was not having an emergency and that i just needed it towed by friday so what ever pick up schedule worked best for them I would work with, 30 mins later the truck was loaded up and headed to town, everyone was awesome, and the bill wasn't as bad as I had expected. They sure did turn this Monday into a better day.
Best tow company I’ve ever dealt with. The lady who answered the phone was prompt and friendly. She had a driver sent out to tow my vehicle right away. The tow was quick and the cheapest in town. Also very friendly tow driver.
Ran out of gas on the highway, they were there within 20 minutes. Driver even harassed me for driving a new truck and running out, which I appreciated in my own stupid moment. Woman on the phone was also very nice. Highly recommend.
Called 9pm on a Saturday night and they sent a driver out right away to pick up our boat and trailer off of I-75. Driver was efficient and price was less than we were guessing it would be. Thanks so much for the help!!
The brakes on our truck seized up last night leaving it undriveable and in need of towing service. We called our insurance agent at 9:30pm because of our road side assistance and it wasn't until 4am they called us back and said they could not help us find a towing company and we had to do it on our own. I called Ron's and the gal who answered the phone was so kind and understanding, I told her that I was on a time crunch and from out of town, and she assured me they would get me taken care of right away. It wasn't even a half hour later I hear the tow truck come, and he was quick, efficient, and kind. I was alone in the woods at a cabin we are renting, and he did not ever make me feel uneasy or uncomfortable, which I really appreciated as a woman. He knew exactly where to take the truck, knew the mechanic by name, and I was just overall pleased with the service. I also thought the cost was very reasonable for how far out of town and into the woods the truck was. Thank you so much for your time and your service!
I attempted to use this service however the lady on the phone was excessively rude and said that she could not send a tow truck out because there were snow drifts.....isn't that a part of why people need this type of service? Called Otsego Lake Service and was pulled out alongside the guy I was trying to help in 20 minutes. Normally I would have shrugged off the unavailability, but the lady on the phone was too much.
Jason did a fantastic job extracting my barn find ‘71 Buick LeSabre from a difficult spot in a pole barn. He was right on time, friendly, and really knows what he is doing. I won’t hesitate to call Ron’s again the next time I need a vehicle hauled.
Brendan is so awesome he went above and beyond to show us what was wrong with our car and explained what the mechanic would have to do to fix the problem. He was very personable and pleasant to chat with on our hour drive to our destination. If you ever have a problem call Ron's and ask for Brendan
They were wonderful, towed my 38ft motorhome almost 100 miles and and the driver had to pull the drive shaft to do it. Actually made terrific tome given the weather and wind. I would highly recommend them!
I was broken down on I-75 earlier today far from home and used Ron's to get from the roadside to the shop. I forgot the name of the driver who helped me out, but he was very professional, competent, and made small talk with me when the day wasn't going as planned. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who might need services in that area.
They are the cheapest in town, but not in a bad way! The driver was so helpful and let me sit in the truck to stay warm while he did all the work. Definitely will be giving them my business in the future!
Super fast and friendly. I called them after locking my keys in the car and they arrived in less than 5 minutes. The guy was a pro, and really friendly. They accept cash or credit card, and don't make you feel like a total moron, even if you are ;)
Had the best experience ever with my tow truck driver from this company. His name was Rob and he was amazing! As a 22 year old female, having my tire blow on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere at 1AM, that's one of my worst nightmares. When Rob pulled up to my car his main concern was my safety and I have never been more thankful. I ended up having locks on my tire and didn't have the socket to get them off. Rob then gave me all of my options of what I could do and ended up towing my car to a tire shop and then drove me to a hotel for the night. Seriously such a life saver! Can't thank him enough!
Had a towing issue with trailer & truck. Stuck on the highway and told by AAA 45 minutes. The service person was there to offer aid in only a half hour. Terrific service, personable guy, and wonderful help!! We were back on the road in under an hour!! Thank You Ron’s!!!!!!!
My husband & I are 2 hours from home in an unfamiliar area. Ron came to our rescue within minutes and even let us ride in our vehicle on the flatbed on the way to the shop that he recommended and call for us. Ron is the best!
Emergency breakdown passing thru Gaylord. Called them and they were able to respond and load our vehicle to the repair shop within 20 minutes... and that is during the storm passing thru on November 9! Very friendly and fair. Thanks for the prompt rescue!
Ive tried to use this tow company twice! The first time I was on the side of the road for over 3 hours, I gave up and was towed by a friend. The second time they arrived about an hour or more after called, but let me tell you, both times the lady who answers the phone was extremely RUDE! What a way to lose business. Also the driver said I can drop the car where ever I want and did not give me the receipt. The best part is, AAA was paying for it. I called and filed a complaint with AAA beings they are the company AAA uses. To the lady that answers the phone, other people around town have said you are rude as hell!!! Get a grip a
Blowout on my boat trailer in 4th of July traffic. Made it to crossover where a state trooper recommended we call Ron's. Could not have been a better service! Internet tracking of help on the way!?!? Really friendly and helpful tow driver who gave me several good tips on how to be better prepared in the future. Just the best service you could hope for.
Great service, fair price. Our rv broke down on i-75 aND they quickly came out, hooked us up, and brought us to local repair place. I'm glad they took good care of us, breaking down in rv could have turned into a huge mess.
