I have had both simple and complex repairs done at both the Lansing & East Lansing shops in addition to purchasing tires for my 2006 Dodge Dakota, and a battery for my 2013 Ford Express. In every case the service, repairs, product & pricing were done professionally, competently and in such a manner that was a pleasure to do business.

Don’t waste your time here! Horrible service and clueless mechanics! I hope Garen enjoyed his vacation while he left one man only 5’5 to work on dozens of cars

Very friendly employees and the General Manager is highly knowledgeable and helpful. They actually showed me that I didn't yet need a service that another shop had recommended, saving me a heck of a lot. Took great care of my jeep and everything was strongly and fairly priced, compared to others. Will most definitely will be back to them in the future!

Pretty disappointed with the care I received. I said blatantly that I was not looking to do preventative care and I was focused on the grinding noise I was hearing on my front left tire. They claimed it was my breaks and rotors, being a female who knows absolutely nothing about cars I okayed it and paid $600 dollars for the repair. I get a call once it’s done that my car is “ready for pickup” and it was still making that noise. They quoted me $1600 upon pickup claiming it was actually the bearings that were making that noise instead. Took it to another shop because ain’t no way in hell I’m paying that much to repair this car again and the new mechanic I found literally told me outright MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE!! Doesn’t sound like my car is “ready for pickup” to me. It was so bad he emphasized that at any point on my drive to his shop my tire could’ve come off. He said he has no idea why Firestone would lie about it being my brakes and rotors when it is very very clearly my bearings “with anybody who has eyes to see”. I don’t mind car repair, it’s just the way the cookie crumbles, but dang guys I feel like I made it abundantly clear I am a college student and have easily spent over $5000 dollars on this car in the last year and I was only looking to repair the root cause of the noise because I am out of money!! It was just as expensive to repair my bearings as it was for my breaks and rotors in the first place. I feel like it was just a shady cash grab and I looked like I didn’t know a lot about cars so it made it easy for them to persuade me away from the repair I actually needed. In short, heed my warning ladies! Ps, the mechanic I trust with my repairs going forward has told me a lot of people come in to his shop with Firestone horror stories!!

Garren Green did a great job managing the process. Appointment took a little longer than expected because there was a lot of rust on the rims that needed to be cleaned off. Glad the rims were cleaned up nicely. Suggestions for tire care were practical and mindful of balancing cost versus benefit. So far very happy.

Would not go here there mechanics are not very smart i took my 2008 f250 up there to get diagnosed they charged me 131 and told me it was my gem module I spent all day the next 2 days trying to find my gem module just to find out 2008 dose not have one they have a sjb I would not trust them with anything other then tires. How can I trust they properly checked my truck when thwy can't even give me the right part name

They got me in last minute on a snowy cold day. They were very professional and friendly and had me on my way in no time. I highly recommend this location!

These people are very honest. I have used them multiple times to replace tires. They don't play games. I would highly recommend.

Firestone has been amazing to me. They answer questions truthfully and they don't give you the run around. Garen and Brandon are awesome and they get the job done in a timely fashion!!!! 10/10 recomend

Went in to get a leaky tire patched, they claimed I need new tires although the tires have less than 10k on them. They patched my tire and apparently sealed the valve stem, yet the next morning my tire was still leaking at the same rate. My girlfriend also had the same issue with Firestone where she got a nail pulled out of the tires and had it patched up, yet the tire still leaked air and needed filled every other day. When I called back to see if they would try fix my leaky tire again, they basically just told me I needed to buy new tires from them and that there’s nothing else they could do. Very dissatisfied with their policy and their eagerness to upsell a customer on something they don’t need. Will not be returning here.

Garren and Branden did a great job of taking care of my daughters brakes on her CR-V at an affordable price. No over selling, just honest recommendations of what we needed to get her back on the road safely. Thank you!

Had a wheel alignment done at this place. Took an lifetime wheel alignment service and i applied a 20$ coupon. But those guys put that 20$ back on my invoice saying its for shop supplies. When asked instore, the guy working there says its tax. But tax is different than shop supplies on invoice. When called next day, the guy says it being put on everyone's bill and its for the utilities in store. Why the heck i will be paying for your utilities separately and he rudely says you can call the manager when he is back. The service is also bad and not up to the mark. Avoid this place if possible.

Garrin really helped me out and used caution when diagnosing my vehicle. He saw a workmanship issue and did not proceed. Because of this he is saving me a vehicle ultimately as I would not have paid another big chunk of money to have it repaired. Very thankful that I chose your shop!!!

The first Firestone we towed my husband's truck couldn't fix it. So then we had to pay 250.00 for a tow truck to tow it to the Firestone shop on East Grand River. The first shop wouldn't tow it to their other shop. Inexcusable. We won't use them again. Their shop was on Saginaw. The gentlemen at Grand River were very nice and helpful. They fixed his truck and did a great job!! Definitely, use the Firestone on East Grand River.

When I asked what’s the most affordable option for two new tires was they said “$533 was the best they could do”. After which I looked on their website and they had options that were only $89 a piece in stock.

This is my favorite place to get service! I loved when Dakota worked on my car. I try to go only when he is there and trust his opinion!

I called ahead to make an appointment after learning from a dealership that my car needed a fairly large repair. Firestone took care of the repair efficiently, kindly, and for a much more reasonable price than anywhere else had quoted me! My car is working incredibly well now, and I will definitely come back to Firestone for future repairs if ever they are necessary.

Dakota was SO helpful!! The air valve cap on one of my tires got stuck and he fixed everything for me so quickly and was very kind about it. Don’t buy cute after market caps, people.

Dakota and his team members are awesome! Such great care, service was as quick as we could ask for, and he was very straightforward with what needed to be done for repairs. Would go back anytime!

Parents of college kids stay away from this place in east lansing! This was an auto shop that couldn’t get the car out of the bay it was in??? Stay away!!! Because of this I lost out on a tow from AAA and when I asked to have them pay for it, I was denied! My kiddo had to uber all back home and My spouse had to send you tube videos to the managers! Also beware even if you pay by credit card , they will not simply place your refund back on the card, you have to wait three weeks for a check! And forget the customer service line, they say someone from district will call you within two days - it’s been over a week! Their loss - I was going to purchase 2 sets of tires for the winter worth over $2000k. It’s a very very shady company so needed to spread information people may not know about. If I could give no stars I would have!

What a great experience!!! I cannot say enough about Brandon and Dakota! I was traveling out of town in the E. Lansing area when my car reported cooling issues. I arrived at the Firestone location with almost no coolant in my car. The test they ran suggested it was a thermostat but before they installed and charged me for an entire thermostat unit, they filled the car with coolant and ran additional tests. They were unable to confirm that was indeed the source of the problem and were reluctant to do the work and charge me unnecessarily. They were very conscientious that I had an hour drive back home and it the thermostat was not the problem, they did not want me stranded on my return home. We agreed to fill the reservoir with coolant and take the car closer to home. I arrived home safely, and they even called me to make sure I made it home. These men were honest and trustworthy. They went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations!! Firestone should be very proud of this location and the men working there. They are outstanding humans!!

I have been taking my car to Firestone for almost 30 years. There are two reason for my being a loyal customer: excellent service, and trust. Dakota, at the Firestone located on Grand River Ave. in East Lansing, has always been so welcoming and so friendly, and the rest of the staff has done the same. And the work that is done on my car has been excellent—consistently—and that is why I trust Firestone. I know every job is done well, and I will be on the road in a safe and well maintained car. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else.

Garen did a great job on my 2020 Colorado. I had the cooling system and transmission flushed and reset. Appointment was easy to make and customer service was great. Very competitive pricing, too. I will DEFINITELY be going back. They also emailed me a regular maintenance estimate that helps me plan my upkeep on my truck.

I had a great experience at Firestone getting the oil changed in my work van. The staff was friendly, professional, and got the job done quickly. They took great care of my vehicle and made the whole process easy and stress-free. I appreciate their efficiency and great customer service—definitely coming back for future maintenance. Highly recommend!

***they wanted to pay me to not write this*** Had a radiator replaced, and the job never quite got done. First thing I caught, after they said it was done, was ducting that was removed for the install sitting loose under my hood. With the fasteners spread around along the edges of the hood. I took it back (whilst getting some other work done) they gave me a discount on an alignment to make up for it and I thought it was all good. A few days later I hear rattling under the hood. It was my radiator cooling fan hanging by the electrical cables loose and rubbing against other components. There were no fasteners attaching it to the radiator and I could move the radiator back and forth with one finger. Took it back and when they said it was fixed I took a look under the hood before I left the parking lot that time. They did install the top two fasteners but the bottom of the fan housing was hanging loose with no mechanical connection. I was then informed that they just didn’t install them because the radiator was aftermarket and different from the original. So because it was the wrong part they just left it half installed. They never contacted me about any fitment issue. The mechanic rushed to fix it in the parking lot, looking for a screw that would work. When he was done I was told he “made it work”, on one side but there wasn’t anything to attach to on the other. So 1/4 of my fan housing will now be hanging loose. After all this I talked to the manager and worked out a deal for a partial refund. I would have to sign something that said they weren’t liable and I would get some money back. When I got there to sign, it was basically a gag order. I wouldn’t be allowed to “publish” anything about this interaction if I took the money. I asked for a copy so my lawyer could review the document and was told that I could not have a copy of it until I signed it even tho it says in the document that I could have a lawyer review it. They did send a copy to my lawyer eventually, once they realized I had one. So they were willing to pay to not have this story told. And they were scared for me to have a copy of their gag document. Anyway I hope they didn’t forget to attach anything else… All in all, would not recommend.
