I wanted to take a moment to highlight the outstanding experience I had at this Advance Auto Parts location after a series of frustrating encounters at other stores nearby. From the moment I walked in, the manager was absolutely fantastic — incredibly professional, genuinely kind, and clearly takes great pride in her store. The space was spotless, well-organized, and a clear reflection of her leadership. Most impressively, my online order was actually ready and waiting when I arrived (!!!). After dealing with delays and disorganization at other locations, this was a game-changer. Even though the AC was out of order and it was a hot day, you’d never know she was uncomfortable — her energy and professionalism never wavered. She even had cold bottled water available for customers, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. I left the store not only with what I needed but also feeling genuinely taken care of. This is now my go-to location. Dealing with inefficiency and long waits in the heat is not the life for me — and thanks to this manager and her team, I don’t have to.

Marina & Kristina are amazing! We were helped by both employees on two separate occasions and they went above and beyond. I hope they receive the recognition they deserve for such great work ethic and their kindness. We will go out of our way to go to this location because of the great continuous service we receive here.

Absolutely terrible overall experience and I did not even step foot into the store. called on Monday for a part which was told would arrive the next day (and they’d call me). did not hear from them so I called back and the warehouse “could not find” the part. okay whatever, reordered on Tuesday for the same part expecting to get it today. same thing happened and yet again no part. absolutely shocking.

Was met by a friendly gentleman named Justin the other day when I went to the store to get some new wiper blades. Very knowledgeable he helped me pick out the right ones for my suv he also helped install them! Thanks Justin!

I really wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped me on 3/21/24 because she really is an excellent employee and deserves some props from management (upper management if she’s a manager). I went in, at around 8:15pm, to get a new battery. I decided to swap it out in the parking lot. I thought I had the tools I needed but….BMW (there was a hidden bracket way down in the battery bay). I went back in and explained my situation. She provided me with the tools I needed and also had her father (who was waiting to pick her up) shine is headlights on my car so I could see what I was doing. She came outside (in the FREEZING cold) to double check I had the right tools, and stayed outside until the job was done. She and her father jumped in when they say me struggling to get the super heavy battery out of the awkward space BMW tucked it away inside. She then carried the 1,000 lb battery inside and brought the new one outside. All with a smile on her face.

If you’re package gets delivered to their ups pickup point pray that nobody steals it or they give it to someone else. I had to do deep digging to make sure my package actually was left here after a lot of confusion and a week of calling then non stop asking about my package. It was delivered there yet nobody could seem to find it. So who took it? Or which one of you gave it to somebody else? Stupid people. Brainless, actually. If youre package is unfortunately sent here make sure you get there right away so nobody takes your package. Don’t trust these people.

Don't have much of a selection for motorcycles, scooters, and motor bikes. I couldn't find what I was looking for for my kymco super 8 150x scooter engine oil and transmission fluid.

Needed an electric car charger that would work instantly. They showed me a couple different options. Worked quickly and super easy to use!

Showed up last minute because I needed a battery, Although it was almost closing time Justin Rojas still offered to help replace my battery.He also went the extra mile to check if my starter/alternator were good that way I wouldn’t have any troubles later on.

I went to the store at 9 AM and it was closed and employee of the store was outside waiting for the manager to come open it, seems as though somebody slept in, and the store never got opened. O’Riley Brothers down the street was open and the manager was there with employees and I was able to buy what I needed. You should probably go there.

I had an oil issue. Simple to figure out! I however had a huge problem where I was unable to get the cap off to add the oil. I asked for assistance and Mr. Alex O. (As stated on my receipt) helped me, immediately setting my mind at ease. He advised me on which brand I needed, how many bottles to buy and even checked the dipstick for me. He even made sure the amount was correct. I’m grateful for Alex at advanced auto in Salem on highland ave. I’m only sorry I didn’t have any tip money for him because he deserved it. Thanks Alex.

Well stocked store and helpful staff. Purchased wiper blades and got home and could not figure out how to install them. They told me to return to the store and they would install them for me. The young man came out into the driving snow and figured out what was wrong - a certain part needed to be removed from the new blade attachment, and got them both installed in minutes!

Called about a replacement battery this morning and was informed that although Advance Auto should install batteries for customers, it was “ too early and too cold”. What a joke! It’s 9:30AM on October 4th and 57 degrees outside. BUY ELSEWHERE!!!

Online it says this store is open till 9pm. Drove straight there after my wiper flew off during the pouring rain. Arrived at least 10mins before they closed and the door was locked. Knocked on the door and the guy came to the door and gave some excuse about training someone to close. Great Training when your teaching someone to close a business early. All I needed was a wiper so I could see while driving in the rain. Horrible customer service!

I went in for new wiper blades and Taz helped us. He was so friendly and knowledgeable! He offered to install the new ones without us even asking, and he did it happily. That kind of attitude is rare today especially in customer service. I’m glad I went there!

What a great experience I had at Advance Auto Parts at 426 Essex Street in Salem! When I walked in the door, I was greeted by a welcoming Julio who asked if he could assist me. I had brought in my key fob for a battery replacement. Julio got right to work finding the correct replacement battery and coached me through the process of changing the battery. I was so impressed by Julio’s kindness and intelligence. I am sincerely grateful!

Come by because my battery had some issues. Mike handled it quick and professionally and laid out all my options for me without being pushy about up selling.

Great experience. The staff here are friendly and eager to help with any issues I have. Rebekkah was able to help me find and buy my high flow air filters for the best price available and was happy to answer all my questions. Thank you Rebekkah!
