Precise was able to really help me out in a pinch. They helped diagnose certain issues with the car without charging a fee like the Toyota dealership would. Awesome services. Friendly staff A+

Immediately greeted with "Hey, it's xmas, no charge", when I asked for the cost of a flat repair. Reflated with advice on new tire and on my way in 20 minutes!

I have only praise for Precise Auto Service. I depend on the people at Precise to keep my vintage car running, and I’m never disappointed. I strongly doubt that any other repair shop can match their expertise. Plus, they always treat me in a fair, honest, and friendly manner. I’m really never disappointed when I bring my car to Precise for servicing—from the smallest repair to the largest overhaul, they do it right and stand behind their work 100 percent.

SCAMMERS – Precise Auto Service & Valvoline instant oil change I had a terrible experience with these two companies working hand in hand to take advantage of customers. Yesterday, I went to Valvoline for an oil change. While working on my car, the staff suddenly got nervous and told me they would not charge me and that I should instead take my BMW X5 to a mechanic called Precise Auto Service. They even assured me that I wouldn’t be charged anything there either. Clearly, both businesses are associated. At Precise Auto Service, they told me to come back today. I wasted hours waiting at their shop, losing an entire workday, only to be told that a part needed to be replaced and they were “just waiting for Valvoline’s manager approval.” After all this, they had the audacity to call me later and say that after their “investigation,” everything was fine and they would not take responsibility. Meanwhile, my BMW X5 is now damaged because of their negligence and lack of professionalism. -They promised I wouldn’t pay a dime, but instead wasted my time and money. -They made me wait for hours with lies and excuses. -They damaged my vehicle and are refusing to pay. We will be taking legal action against both Valvoline and Precise Auto Service. Stay away from these scammers – they are dishonest and unprofessional.

Second review: I needed another tuneup today before a trip, and they found a problem that I would never have thought of. (It needed coils). Did it quickly and well. Now I can go on my trip without worrying about anything. I also inquired about a friend who is looking for a second car,. They said to bring in anything he is interested in to have them check it out. They looked at four cars for a family recently and didn't advise getting any of them. Good advice! First review: Always excellent. They do an excellent job, are quick and very friendly. Phil Pierce is the owner and a wonderful person with a big heart. I can't recommend them highly enough. They just replaced my brakes and did all four in one day. I had no idea that all of them needed to be replaced. They do everything carefully thoroughly, and for a good price. Third review: They did several things this time, all well and inexpensively. They replaced tire that I wrecked, installed catalytic converter shield, replaced rear windshield wipers. Third review: Wheel alignment. Done quickly and well.

This is my “ Go to” place for my two cars . I depend on them to keep my older cars maintained. They are dependable and trustworthy and give great service. I highly recommend them Sandy Elder

Terribly dishonest shop. They tried to sell me 4k worth of work that my car did not need. Thank god I went to a second shop for an unbiased opinion. All of Precise's recommendations were found to be unnecessary. Let me say this again. They tried to rip me off for 4 Thousand Dollars!!! When I called back to confront blake he hung up on me.

DO NOT GO HERE! Took my car here in May 2025 for routine maintenance and a break inspection, they ended up replacing my front brakes. However, ever since then my brakes have been loud, and I can feel something is rubbing when they are applied. I finally took my car back a little over 2 months later to have them reinspect the front brakes as it was getting worse, but now they say I need to replace my rear brakes…why was this not noticed on the first inspection… I find it a bit suspicious that they blame my rear brakes instead of it being something they did previously given the timing. Not to mention they quoted by ~$800 for the work but then later told me they had included an unauthorized brake flush (even though they just flushed 2 months ago) which drove the price over $1000. Do not go here unless you want them to con you out of your money. Idk if it’s because I am a woman that they feel they can take advantage of me but not anymore.

This is THE best auto repair shop in the Washington area! Very honest and trustworthy and they keep both of my older cars in good shape. Since I am a widow, I depend on them to keep my cars running. I highly recommend them. They have even done minor things for free because I am a regular customer. My son found them on Groupon years ago and it was a good " find".

I had such a fantastic experience at Phil’s Precision Auto Shop! The owner was incredibly kind and let me know they wouldn’t charge me for the simple fix of replacing my brake light and turn signal bulbs. The whole team was so professional and friendly, and I left feeling like a truly valued customer. If anything ever comes up with my car again, I’ll definitely be going back to Phil’s. Highly recommend them!

I think they did a decent job? Really can't tell yet. Their hourly rate is almost double anywhere else l've seen. They go by book time rather than actual. I gave them 3 stars instead of 2 as they didn't charge for some of the diag would be happy to pay so I can better anticipate my cost. Probably won't go back.

This was my first visit and the experience was wonderful. The manager, Blake, is great and from the initial communication through completion of the service he was top notch. Even highlighted one thing to watch vs saying it should be addressed right now - most places would have told you they recommend the work be done immediately. I'll use them again.

Good prices, go to extra lengths if needed. Explain what they find to the customer and include if the work is needed now or can be delayed. Maintenance orders are not filled with jargon and abbreviations. Work is done quickly.

Whenever I bring a vehicle to Precise Auto Service I know I am in excellent hands. Their communication is always clear, describing the issue and the proposed solution, with associated pricing. They are reasonable, helpful people who want the best for their clients. Repairs are done quickly and when the vehicle is ready there's an email with attached invoice and explanation of the labor/parts, etc. They are so reliable and quick, and always extremely pleasant. My go-to for all vehicle issues, whether maintenance or repair - Phil, Blake and the team at Precise Auto are terrific!!

This shop tried to scam me y’all. So I have a 2011 dodge avenger, I brought to the shop bc they said they do free inspections. I said cool cuz the one in Germantown was gonna charge me $300 for a inspection. Greg and Phil were the ones that spoke to me. Phil ended up telling me that my brakes were giving out and that on the front I was missing brake pads (if that was the case I wouldn’t be able to brake at all lmfao ?) . Also said my struts/shocks were significantly damaged. They estimated me almost $5,000 dollars worth of repair. The biggest issue I originally knew I only had was just the camshaft sensor A, wanna charge me $420 to fix it. I kept explaining that the car kept stalling or stop accelerating bc of this. But Phil decided to say that it shouldn’t be something I should worry about. He was telling me to get the brakes done first, the sensor and the struts after. He was trying to tell me not to go to places such as jiffy lube, or the lube center bc they try to get money out of people. I was already aware of that, but I’ve always gotten my oil changed done at the lube center because I don’t feel like dealing with it myself. So much for a owner, trying to scam me $4,700 to fix things I didn’t need to get done. Note: I got my dodge hardly two months ago. Because of all the issues he listed, he was trying to tell me to contact my dealership and demand that they fixed it. Or go thru it with an attorney, etc. I called the dealership, explained everything to them. They let me bring the car in the next day. I brought a friend of mine, who’s also a mechanic, just in case the dealership was gonna try to lie to me as well. They took me inside the garage that next morning, let me Take pictures of everything. My car was perfectly fine! AND I CLEARLY HAD BRAKE PADS 😒 on top of that the dealer fixed my sensor with no problem never taking my car to this place in Kensington ever again. Tryna get money out of me, a female? Im into cars, I don’t know everything in terms of the mechanics except for majority of the basics for what I know. But cmon Phil, telling me that you’ve been doing this for 20+ years. Yeah, 20+ years SCAMMING PEOPLE JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE SHOPS! Gtfo

Greg, Blake and the entire Precise Auto Team were patient, helpful and understanding, words I never thought I'd use based on past experiences with mechanic shops. Their diagnostic eye is keen and their work is thorough. They carefully explained the detailed, multiday diagnostic and were supportive as I made the ultimate decision to have it towed for donation. I will definitely return soon to have them service my remaining vehicle.

Phil, Blake, and Greg always take great care of my car and treat me like family. They are responsive and professional and their prices are fair. I wholeheartedly recommend Precise Auto a trusted neighborhood business. It is so much more authentic and honest than any dealership and they are personally accountable for their work.

Phil and Greg were very nice, helpful, and explained repair and gave recommendation for future services (I got an alignment and waited for it - less than an hour). It was so nice to be waited on in a small business, compared to a busy chain!

Blake and the rest of the guys at Precise Auto saved my car! I went to get an oil change across the street at Valvoline. When I drove in, my car was operating fine; there were no leaks. I waited at the service bay for almost an hour for them to finish. During this time, they damaged something in the oil line and told me I couldn’t drive my car off the lot! My car was apparently torrentially pour out oil. Obviously I was shocked. The manager on duty at Valvoline recommended this place. I spoke to Blake on the phone who advocated for me to 1) get a refund from Valvoline for the “oil change” 2) have them pay for a tow truck 3) make sure the repair was paid by Valvoline - and not out of my pocket. I’ve never had that kind of service anywhere. I’m very impressed!

Wonderful, as usual. I went there mid afternoon because my car wouldn't start 3 times recently. They checked the battery and quickly ordered a new one, which arrived in less than an hour. They put it in and I was off, good as new! I wish I had realized that my car not starting was probably a battery problem. I will remember this in the future.

We are extremely happy with the personalized service, and attention to detail that we get every time we bring our vehicles to Precise Auto. We have been taking our fleet vehicles, as well as our personal vehicles to Precise Auto for a few years now, and we couldn't be happier with the services we've received. They have a very friendly and knowledegeable staff, from the front of the house (Blake and Greg) to the technicians behind the scenes, as well as the owner Phil. I am so impressed by and thankful for Precise Auto Service. I got a low tire pressure notification while driving around town. They were so kind to take my car in right away! They fixed what needed fixing and had me on my way within 15 minutes. I appreciate not only their expertise, but also their welcoming and friendly demeanors. my mom has been getting her car serviced here for more than a decade. I finally took my vehicle here for an oil change and they were way faster than jiffy lube, like less than 30 minutes. they were also super kind and helpful with all my questions. if you're looking for a mechanic, look no further, try precise auto service.

Precise auto is a friendly neighborhood shop that puts customer service first. When a Ktown neighbor said, “You have to go to Phil!” I headed straight to Precise Auto. They 100% live up to their reputation! They’re the most responsible and honest shop I’ve ever worked with and are great at diagnosing problems, explaining needed repairs, and minimizing unnecessary costs. I drive a classic Miata, which makes parts hard to find. Blake doesn’t give up! He’s got the connections to find the parts that nobody else can find! I’m so happy I’ve found my forever mechanic!

This place was so helpful and kind! We had our tires rotated at a Jiffy Lube and then noticed a thumping noise as we started our road trip. We called Precise Auto since we were in the area and they were happy to take us immediately even though they were about to close for the evening. They noticed that Jiffy Lube did not secure our tires properly and one was about to come off. They fixed it without charge. Thank you so much! We would not have been able to make our road trip without you. Would recommend highly!

I've been getting my 3 vehicles serviced at Precise for over 10 years. Phil, the owner, is an outstanding gentleman. His staff's customer service is impeccable. The technicians are knowledgeable and always willing to provide advise. Their front office personal is very friendly and willing to assist especially with time sensitive repairs. PRECISE IS PRECISELY PERFECTIONIST & PROFESSIONAL. A JEWEL OF KENSINGTON!!!
