On Monday I did business with Lee for the 4th time over the course of 10 years or so. I'm a Maryland attorney that first met Lee on behalf of a client around 2015. Ill never forget it. He was my first stop in getting estimates on an engagement ring inherited by one of my clients. After looking at the ring for all of about 4 minutes, he gave me his quote. While it sounded fair, I let him know that I was obligated to get at least 2 additional estimates on my client's behalf. His reply was not what I expected, though certainly welcome: 'Of course Michael, but I can tell you right now that no one will beat my offer.' His declaration threw me a bit because of the resolve with which he said it. I mean, how could he be so sure... you never know when another jeweler will offer more for whatever reason (liquidity/cash flow). What's more, being the first of three bidders, Lee was in the unenviable position of being outbid by a few dollars upon my disclosure of his bid to the other jewelers. Well suffice it to say, he was right... and it wasn't close. Since then Lee has had and will always have my total trust. Had a great experience here! For starters, he offered me more for my gold than the big jewelry store—as in 15% more. It's possible because he has less overhead than those stores. I also appreciated how open the whole process was. Lee does all the inspecting right in front of you, and talks you through what he's doing. The other store just took stuff to a secret backroom and returned 10 min later with an offer. It was even just fun chatting with Lee. He has all these great anecdotes about the industry and the old days etc etc. He's so knowledgeable about every aspect of jewelry. Very personable and, I reiterate, the money was right. Most businesses have only one or the other.

I recently visited Just Jewels, hoping to get assistance with selling my vintage watch. Upon arrival, I learned that appointments are required, but the concierge was very helpful in notifying the owner about my visit. She kindly provided me with the owner's contact information so I could text him directly. I reached out politely, expressing my interest in setting up an appointment to sell my watch. However, the response I received from Lee Siegel was unclear and somewhat dismissive. He asked for my identity and inquired whether I was looking for an appraisal, stating that he doesn’t handle appraisals. After I provided my information and confirmed my intent to sell the watch, I never heard back. It’s disappointing that there was no follow-up or acknowledgment of my inquiry, even a simple message stating he was unavailable would have sufficed. This lack of communication raises concerns about professionalism and customer service. I hope Just Jewels can improve in this area.

I scheduled an appointment through the website, he texted me to collect more info (and save me the trip if my jewelry were not a good match for his services). At the appointment, he greeted me in the lobby - which was helpful because it's a little hard to find - and escorted me to his office, where he carefully cleaned and evaluated my items.
