Mrs. Rennel Richardson , she is very professional, patient and welcoming. She made the application process much easier.

I recently had the pleasure of touring at 4949 Battery Park Apartments with Mrs. Richardson, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment i arrived, she was warm, welcoming, and extremely professional. She was well-prepared, knowledgeable about the property, and took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly. Mrs. Richardson made the entire tour feel comfortable and informative without ever being pushy. She clearly explained the amenities, lease terms, and details about the community, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Her attention to detail and genuine care for potential residents truly stood out. Overall, it was an outstanding experience.

Please do not consider this apartment. Management does not respond properly, and there is no reliable heat during the winter. When you have an issue—especially an emergency—you cannot reach anyone. If you are okay living without heat in extreme winter, then this place might be fine, but I would not recommend it.

Wow this place has gone downhill. I used to live here, and it was fine back then. But when I had a question for the office staff today based on my past residency, they were extremely rude and would barely even talk to me. I guess once they aren't getting your money anymore you're not worth their time?

ROACHES!, AC isn’t cooling at all since beginning of June. Even when there is excessive heat alarm in the city. Been 1.5 years with roaches and sometimes also mice. Whatever the pest control do is not helping AT ALL. Now it is 90F because AC isn’t cooling. It got worse and worse. Becoming unbearable living here. Do not recommended.

Do not move here. Too many maintenance issues for the price. Leaking roof, washers and dryers are always broken, staff is unreachable, elevators are a death trap (they even post warning signs to make sure you have your phone in case of emergencies and elevators don't function while you are on it), packages get stole, neighbors complain of roaches and rats, and now ALL of the water in my apartment is piss colored yellow. Not worth the price, not worth the hassle.

(4949)I don’t do reviews, but this one is needed! If could give no stars I would!!! One of thee most disgusting places to live! Rodents, roaches, carpet smells, mold, just everything about these apartments are bad! I literally had mice the entire time I stayed here(1yr). It was a horrible experience and all they did was nothing. I kept telling them where the mice were coming from, and instead of them patch the hole, they kept coming in setting traps. Don’t even try to use the laundry mat, you will either not find any working or your clothes will be soaking wet after “drying” them. There was a used tampon down the hall so, not only are the apartments filthy but some residents are nasty. There’s mold everywhere and all they do it paint over it. Maintenance there is a joke the only thing they are good for is unclogging a toilet. No matter how convenient it is to work or wherever, it is just not worth it. The ONLY good thing is the apartments were quiet. It was a weird encounter with the NEW people in management returning security deposit. Tanisha kept giving me the run around. The property manager quit or got fired(I’m not surprised) and charged me incorrectly on move out. So, they took that money out of my deposit. A bunch of incompetent people working there!

4890 Battery Lane has 140 apartments and: - Mice, lots - Cockroaches, lots - Broken washing machines - 50%. Three of Six - Package Theft. Aldon doesn't care about our security - Mold in the vents that push air into the apartments - Hallway wall plaster is disintegrating and falling out. - Hallway carpet is completely wretched. -AC/Heat might work, depending on your apartment and time of year. AC doesn't turn on until 1 week May :( . County enforcement comes about once a year as people get upset and force change by complaining to code enforcement. Management will have you sign a 1 year lease and claim that they will renovate/raze the buildings for new construction. This is a ploy, and the reconstruction has been planned for many, many years. Having this "plan" gives Aldon cover to not offer 2-year leases as otherwise mandated. It's nothing to be proud of, unfortunately. :( I am not proud to live here. It's... just kinda cheap I guess. :(

If I could leave (0) stars I would, but for the sake of this review, (1) star will suffice. However, Aldon Management is TRASH & UNPROFESSIONAL. Please do yourself a favor and rent somewhere that will honor and appreciate you AND your hard earned money. The buildings are mold, Roach and Rat infested. Management does nothing about it, and Maintenance struggles to rectify any of the issues on property. The community manager (Tennesher Hogarth) does not care to correct any issues that arise on-sight, She does not care about the residents and/or their needs. She is unprofessional, and lacks the basic skills it takes to be a Community Manager, as she sits in her office, ignoring phone calls, and emails, while avoiding tenant concerns and issues. Again, do yourself a favor, read ALL other reviews about this community and the management company and DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND THE HEADACHE !

Building has BAD infestation. Avoid moving here. The move-in process was easy, the leasing agents are very helpful. HOWEVER, the building's management and upkeep has loads of issues. (We live at 4949) We've been dealing with COCKROACHES in our unit for over 6 months now. We first found them about a month after move-in, and immediately let maintenance know. Since then, pest control has come over and over and the problem is STILL bad. I'm convinced it is a building-wide issue, and it's being treated as a unit issue which is humiliating – we are clean people and have done everything we can to combat this. We've seen the roaches come from the vents, reported this, and nothing has changed. I've also had an awful time trying to get in contact with management with this issue. I was reading so many reviews for apartments in this area before we moved in, and they looked promising for this one. A month or so after moving in, only 2 washing machines (out of 5/6) were working in the laundry room. A month later, they broke down, so management had 2 replacement machines – but they were used and also didn't work properly. These problems have not been resolved in the 8 months we've lived here. I'm unsure if management recently changed (it's not like they've contacted me after reaching out, so how would I know?), but this place seems like it used to be in good shape, but is now deteriorating. For the amount of rent we're paying (1650), we should not have to deal with roaches, broken laundry machines, and management that isn't keen on responding to issues and taking accountability. Or problem solving, at that! PS.. I even set up a phone appointment to speak with a manager today. It's been more than 15 minutes and they have yet to call. Please, before you sign a lease or even apply, make sure you ask about these issues!

Great location. Spacious apartments. All the buildings have roaches and management is aware. They say they plan to tackle the issue by treating every unit but I was never contacted or notified until I brought up the issue. Maintenance people are nice and efficient but they never let you know when they are coming even if you select this option on the request form.

I went to get an apartment tour and had an appointment for 11.30 when I got there the lady automatically told me I didn’t have an appointment. She did not even check my name or ask me for the email confirmation. So ridiculous. I wish I got her name but I will be calling management to also let know of this incident. She was terrible. She told me to wait in my car and she would call if she has availability. This is absolutely ridiculous and i should not have been put through that. I am questioning if I even want to move here now. Terrible experience.

Management for The Glens on Battery Lane lied to us and demanded an additional months' rent after we signed a short term lease, a lease from June to the first of January. We vacated in December, plenty early. We paid hundreds of dollars more a month for the short term lease. The lease was negotiated on purpose to end in January. As the end of the time approached, they dropped a notification off in the mailbox about being required to provide 60 days notification. Despite having a short term lease. They then charged us the next full month of rent even though we had already paid more for the short term lease which provided them the end date. They didn't care that we paid extra each month. They didn't care that we signed that lease for a shorter period and paid more for that shorter lease. They just took the money. We certainly won't rent from here again, and if you choose to, be sure to provide plenty of notice or they'll take your money too

(4890 battery lane) Absolutely terrible management and package theft was out of control. The community page is filled with issues with package theft and The Glens refuses to do anything about it (from personal experience). The Glens management is also extremely difficult to get in touch with. It takes months to get any email responses (if you ever do) and no one ever answers the phone at the leasing office and they never clear their voicemail box. Apartment was in very poor shape in general; the maintenance team also damaged my apartment (flooded the kitchen by busting through my pipes in the adjacent apartment) and refused to properly clean it or replace all the items under my cabinets that were damaged. I was stuck footing the bill to have the place cleaned so they would not charge me upon the move-out inspection. In addition, they mislead me on the apartment square footage. They informed me the apartment was 799 square feet and then sent me the floor plan after I signed the contract, which showed 704 square feet. I measured and it was actually around 690 square feet of living space, which is a concerning difference. Save yourself the hassle and do not rent with these people. Aldon, the company that owns the property, also have never once answered my phone call, responded to my voicemail, responded to my emails, nor responded to my webform submissions. These people do not give a dang about their jobs or about the communities they serve.

We are from out of state and Adolfo made the leasing process very smooth. He was was knowledgeable and friendly. The apartments also have great hard wood floors and a location in Bethesda that you can't beat. It's very close to the NIH.

I lived in the Glen Dora (4998 Battery Ln) for about a year. I wish I had lived ANYWHERE ELSE. Thin walls (can hear neighbors from all sides of the apartment at every hour), horrible plumbing, disgusting and expensive laundry room (at least $15 to do two week's worth of laundry, clothes go missing, clothes get thrown on the floor) cars getting broken into, and literally THOUSANDS of dollars of package theft. THOUSANDS. And they do absolutely nothing about it. Every time I called management, I was told that it was my fault, and that I needed to set up alerts for packages on my phone. Like, duh, I DO. But even when they are delivered directly to my door they are stolen. Are people supposed to stay home from work in order to have a package delivered? Like, what? No cameras, no place to keep packages secure, no help. Sure, rent is cheap for the area. To be honest, I would rather have a much longer commute and 2X more expensive rent than ever live here again. The only nice part about living here are the maintenance workers. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. On the flip side, management is horrible, and they only care about making money, and are mean (yes, thats correct, not just rude - mean). The woman that I constantly had the displeasure of speaking to on the phone would interrupt me, talk down to me, and try and gaslight me that everything that was happening was my fault? Anyway, do yourself a favor and live ANYWHERE ELSE. Edited to add: Do not let the positive reviews fool you. There are many different buildings that are included in these ratings since Aldon owns several buildings on Battery Lane. Do yourself a favor and if you are able to take a tour, talk to the residents. Good luck!

We had 2.5 weeks to move our daughter from Florida and the staff at the Glens was phenomenal! They helped get all the paperwork and required tasks completed from a distance. We can’t thank Mona, Adolfo and Turner enough, our daughter is in very good hands! And also thank you to the amazing maintenance staff who are on top of everything!

I love it here. My apartment is wonderful clean and large. I love the color or the walls. I'm sincerely depressed that they plan to demolish my building first. I never want to move. My son is finally settled in his middle school and it's close to my office. We can get groceries or walk to food. There are parks near by. Ms Mona and Mr Adolfo are awesome in the leasing office. Maintenance issues are usually fixed fast. I cried for a while when I realized my lease ends in December. I want to extend my stay here as long as possible.

Have been having issues with my dishwasher for a month now and they always have excuses but never fix it! Edit: They finally fixed it after this review. However, after living here with quite a while there are several issues that have not been fixed. Like the reek of marihuana (seems like someone smokes in the stairwell and the management doesn't do anything about it) in the building, noisy neighbors and run down laundry room. Another issue is people stealing our packages and management doesn't do anything about it. We have constantly complained about it and nothing gets done.

Adolfo went above and beyond in helping me during my moving process. He exceeded job expectations making me feel welcome immediately. He was very personable and friendly, easy to reach out to, and responsive. He also made sure to provide useful guidance about the area in general, orienting me with the neighborhood, not just the complex. I would highly recommend working with him and The Glens.

You can’t beat the location! The buildings are decent with beautiful spacious floor plans. The staff are generally good people. Adolfo at the leasing office is wonderful! He is always friendly, polite and professional with the residents.

Mr. Black a subject matter expert in his field as Aldon Reps. His a very articulate and a very knowledgeable individual customer service reps. He makes sure that customers challenging problems in and around Aldon building are solved by making follow-up phone call to the customer. He ensure maintenance repair schedule for concerned individual apartments are properly disseminated and inform them about the type to repair to be expected Thank you for the job well done and for all that you do always representing Aldon management organization. Respectfully Kingsley

The leasing agent Adolfo has went above and beyond with every request I’ve had in my leasing process. This is my first time renting so I was very anxious about the process. Adolfo answered every question and when he couldn’t he found someone who could. I went to a lot of different leasing offices but his pleasant and helpful attitude made me decide to stay here. You get what you pay for as far as the apartment but it helps to have someone who cares about doing their job well.

Overall my roommate and I have had a mostly positive experience living here. We are both AU students and we decided to move to Bethesda to save some money while we took classes online. We decided on the Glen Dorra (4998 Battery Lane). The floors are carpeted which is a shame but thats about all our issues with our apartment. We both have very big bedrooms which is nice! A consistent issue however, is package theft. As you can see from the photos, the package room is kind of a mess. Sometimes the delivery guys bring the items to your door, but sometimes they just leave them in that room, which can lead to them going missing. I feel like I've heard about someone losing a package at least once a week here. It's been pretty clear the the building isn't going to do anything about it, so try to track your packages and make sure you're present when they arrive. The stairwells also consistently reek of weed, so some may have an issue with that. All in all, you're getting what you pay for here. It's cheap, but there is also nobody stationed in the building. It's up to you to decide if that is worth it or not.

Lived in the 4998 building for over 5 years, so they must have been doing something right. Excellent "starter" apartment for the area. The rent was very competitive for the otherwise expensive area. I was very happy with the speed in which maintenance requests were completed, and how the staff stayed ahead of snow fall and garbage collection. They also offer free parking for one vehicle with rent, making them even more price competitive. Appliances are "low cost," but serviceable and replaced when they broke down. Downtown Bethesda with its incredible diversity of restaurants and shops is in easy walking distance. This building is in between the Bethesda metro stop and the Medical Center metro stop, about a 10-15 minute walk to either for me. Cons, the big one is poor sound proofing. I can hear my upstairs neighbor walking across his floor, and can often hear muted voices from my other neighbors. I learned to live with it using headphones and just learning to be quieter for my neighbors benefit. The other con almost made me drop down to 3 stars, but its only been a problem for the last 6 months. Packages left at the mail boxes have gone missing, probably stolen by a resident but I've got no proof of that. I've lost 2 packages and a lot of other people are complaining about this. Management really needs to put a camera on the area or otherwise address this issue with a package drop off (though I understand the difficulty of this under Covid guidelines).

If you are considering moving into these apartments, DON’T. If I could give 0 stars I would. The noise is absolutely unbearable and the leasing management does NOTHING about it no matter how many complaints you leave in writing! I’m aware that noise is inevitable living in an apartment complex. However, neighbors who drag furniture back and forth hard wood floors between the hours of 11:00pm-2:00am is unacceptable. I would love to move, the only reason I stay is because it is affordable for the value of good schools in the neighborhood.

Really terrible move-in experiences! Microwave is not working and haven't been fixed until now when i have been moved in for 1 week! can you imaging a life without microwave? you can't even be able to warm up a cup of milk! light is not working. battery needs replacement. shower head is leaking and the water sprays everywhere! window cannot open. all kinds problems. the office closed before the office hours and i have to delay my move in. really the worst renting experiences!

If I could l leave a zero I would be extremely tempted. These people just do not understand how to treat their CUSTOMERS. The building is constantly a construction zone, which means there is a "staging area" in the parking lot for the better part of a year. Even when those spots are open there is not sufficient parking for all the residents even though they have these meaningless gates to enter the lot. My tags were recently dead and clearly that is my fault, however, Aldon's contractor thought it would be nice to sick a huge sticker right on my windshield, made it very easy to move my vehicle since it is a Sunday and nobody knows who to contact to stop my vehicle from being towed. Not to mention, the sticker took about 15 minutes to remove w/ a razor blade. Be careful if they make any promises when you move in such as improvements to the building. The Middlebrooke lobby/Lower Level was a completely construction zone also for the better part of a year (upgrades which included a new laundry room and a gym which is now closed again). I've worked with their corporate folks as well on a professional level and even they are idiots turning away good money. They can't even figure out how to send me a new Lease so I can renew, I tried calling and e-mailing my difficulties to them and they are of course slow to respond. Clearly it is time to look for a new place to live and that's exactly what I intend on doing. **Update** Lovely stock reply from Aldon below. Now they are taking me to court for a late rent payment which I already paid, yippee.
Feb 27, 2018 -
Update, the "management" asked me to contact them about my concerns. Well, they weren't interested in my concerns when my family had to move out due to my wife's health issues. Seriously, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. It's hard to describe how poorly managed Aldon Management is. I never gave a second thought to the quality of an apartment building manager until I lived in an Aldon property. They taught me the valuable lesson of how miserable your life can be made by incompetent management. When we toured the building (May 2015), it was being renovated and we were told it would be fully completed before Thanksgiving. When we moved out the next year, the building was STILL under construction. We spent an entire year living with the back sidewalk covered in inches of mud from construction runoff, the lobby being gutted with hanging wires, and only one elevator, which frequently broke down. Any interaction with management to request anything was met with open hostility, rudeness, or inaction. The location and price look tempting, but trust me, you'll be WAY happier paying a little more every month or living a little further out. Further, fwiw, a LOT of people in these properties are heavy smokers, so unless you like the smell of cigarettes good luck trying to open your window.
