Have been going to Autowerkes for over 35 years since brothers were running two bay shop in Towson. Past ten years prices have increased while service has declined. Visited last month got estimate on my sl for over $3100 and fixed myself for nothing. Dropped off my bmw x5 3 days early for one diagnostic airbag light. Was not touched for three more days. Picked up nothing done. . Never going back to this shop.

This was my first time using their services. They replaced the engine mounts and replaced the seals for front differential on Mercedes W221 s550 4matic. They did an excellent job. Mike at customer service was great and all staff were very courteous.

I scheduled for an oil change and the morning I was dropping off the car, the radiator sprung a major leak. AutoWerkes evaluated the issue and replaced the radiator the following day. That is, fitting in the repair immediately into their workload. I purchased the BMW 335i from them in 2016 and they continue to be my sole source repair shop. Excellent service, extremely knowledgeable, committed to maintaining the car, and I enjoy working with them.

I’ve been using Autowerks for my car needs for the past 20+ years. I’ve even purchased two cars from them. I can’t say enough about the quality service and customer support they have provided me. The owners and staff are fine professional people and costs for service and repairs are very reasonable. I highly recommend them.

Absolutely the best service AND sales in Harford County. If you have a European vehicle, this is the only place you need to go to for regular service, looking to purchase, or to trade in. Marcello and Sergio and their team are not only extremely professional, but are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to European vehicles. Brought my 2016 mercedes gle350 in numerous times(within 6 months) to have things fixed and preventative maintenance done. The 2nd before last time was to to have all 6 spark plugs, 6 ignition coils, and to have the upper camshaft covers resealed due to them slightly leaking. Car was throwing a p0301(misfire,cyl 1). 5000 miles later, the car is throwing a p0304(misfire, cyl 4). I dropped my car back off to have them tell me its a vacuum leak, in the intake manifold on cyl 4. I said 'you guys took the intake off, to do all the work 5000 miles ago', and they quickly responded that they had no need to remove the intake manifold to do that work. Quoted me another $660(the repair prior was $2500), i told them to park it, and ill come get it. I scheduled with another shop a week later, and what do you know...the intake manifold gaskets were shot. The shops owner said 'didnt you say that the other shop resealed the upper camshaft covers?', i replied yes, and the owner immediately said 'you have to remove the upper intake manifold to get the one side off...'. I responded that 'i know, which is the reason i didnt want to do the job myself, plus they charged me 5 hours labor to reseal the upper cam covers'. I could have removed all the components in the way, minus the upper intake, in 45 minutes. I know this because i already replaced the camshaft solenoids, and the thermostat prior to you guys ever touching the car. I thought these guys were honest, and everytime i mentioned something to mike, the service manager, the response was always condescending as if i dont know what i was talking about. Mike, i know more than you think, and i know you lost my buisness with your attitude towards me and your shady work practices. Honesty goes a long way in your field of work, do better.

My wife are always happy to give our most precious to Autowerks! They are true professionals and they make us feel important every time we come there for service.

I’ve gone to Autowerkes twice in the last year for various work on my VW Tiguan. Not only are they the most reasonably priced in the area, the work is quality and the technicians are very knowledgeable. Every person I’ve encountered there has been friendly and helpful. I have also always been given next day or same day appointments with quick service. I will continue to visit Autowerkes for my VW needs.

Jimmy is the greatest. In fact he should be called Jimmy The Great! He really took care of me and helped purchased my car. His Customer service amazing. If you got on Autowerkes ask for Jimmy!

Last November when my car got totaled unexpectedly and I was looking for cars to buy to replace it. Mike from Autowerkes showed me a 135i he had. Mind you prior to this I have spent thousands of dollars at Autowerkes and I was a loyal customer for many years. At first I thought I struck gold , this car seemed to be taken care of by a mechanic and a shop I trusted but this could not be further from the truth. Upon not even a day from purchasing the car the transmission started to slip from 5th to 6th gear, when I first brought this issue up to Mike he seemed to note that it was due to the way I drove even though I only owned the car for about a day, he insisted on a 800 dollar service which I declined. I later submitted a complain and the owner said he would help me out. I then took the car back to them and they had the car a couple of days, they allegedly did the service Mike was gonna charge me for. When I came to pick it up they told me the transmission never slipped while they had it, and they tried to tell me that I have to drive it in sport mode for it to not slip. Immediately after driving off the lot it slipped again even in sport mode. I took it to another certified bmw mechanic and they said I was fed a bunch of lies by them . When I told them who sold me the car they were astonished that it was Autowerkes, as apparently they try to keep a pristine reputation. I was told I needed a new transmission after they test drove it and the car now slipped in 5th gear as well with a loud screeching metal to metal sound. For a while the car just sat in the driveway because i couldn’t afford it, and only recently we decided to put a transmission in because it was a shell without one, that costed around $4500. Even after that point the car has been nothing but issues. I’m upset that I was lied to by people that I trusted and had been a loyal customer of. This makes me wonder what else I was ripped off by when I took my car to Autowerkes. Do not trust this shop, don’t trust their mechanics, if you buy a car from them get a pre purchase inspection !!

I love Autowerkes! Everyone there is very friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a quick turn around time for getting work done on your car.I highly recommend purchasing your car from them and taking your car there for maintenance .They are honest, easy to work with, convenient to get to and very friendly. I have nothing but good experiences with them.

We have been going to Autowerkes since the 90’s and will continue to as long as we are driving. We buy our cars here and only use their service technicians. They are beyond top notch and what sets them apart is their amazing customer service. They aren’t satisfied unless you are happy! Truly the best in the business.

I thought things were good here. After spending over 6k an issue that I paid for 2 months ago turned out to be not fixed, which was the drainage problem where water leaks in on the passenger side. I called Mike and he told me to bring my car in, the trust is ruined. Additionally they quoted me 2k to replace my air conditioner and I found that a piece to my air conditioner had been unplugged after they worked on my car. My system was recharged and it only costed almost $200 somewhere else locally that included the diagnostic test fee. Wow. Also my cruise control signal was perfectly fine prior to my car getting worked on. That is broken. What a disappointment.

Great communication and very friendly. Got the job done super quick as well. After spending close to a grand on repairs though, thought they could have at least run my car through the carwash. Would have been that little extra that went a long way.

These guys are straight shooters and know their German cars inside and out. We’ve been going to them for the past 10+ years (already?!?) for our BMW & Mercedes purchases and maintenance - never steered us wrong (sorry for the pun) and pricing in right in line, if not better, with what anyone would expect when owning or repairing cars from ‘the Father Land.’

Autowerkes has always delivered quality used european cars to me for close to 20 years and about 5 cars for a fair price. service is superb. Marcella and Sergio run a good business that should satisfy anyone.

I have been using Autowerkes for 18 years- it’s a 60 mile drive from home, and it’s worth the trip. I trust them implicitly with my Porsche, and the work is always perfectly executed and the pricing more than fair considering it is for work on a pricey German car. I have had two other cars serviced by Autowerkes over the years. I have even purchased a car from them. I feel like they are always going the extra mile to take care of me as a customer- it’s like taking my car to family !

After moving to the area last year I needed a shop to take care of my 2014 BMW X5. I was referred to Autowerkes and received top-notch customer service! From Sergio to his team - everything was terrific! Then in May I saw a convertible, 2007 BMW 3 series, on the lot and after a test drive and conversation with Evan, it was mine! I had a wonderful experience at Autowerkes. One of the owners took me on a test drive and during our drive he listened to me as i shared what i was looking for and when our test drive was complete, he pointed me toward the perfect car for me. I was taken very good care of from start to finish and it was by far my best car buying experience.

I came to AutoWerkes on Saturday to look for a new car not only because of good the reputation, also, my friend Tim works in the auto shop. He and the manager Sergio helped me find exactly what I was looking for at a price I didn’t think was possible! Everyone was so nice, and the paperwork was surprisingly easy, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Fast forward 5 days, and I am the new owner of a beautiful Jetta!!

Autowerkes lacks the attention to detail and customer service one would expect from an Indy euro shop. I brought my vehicle here because the hood wouldn’t open. They got the hood open and replaced the hood latch release cable quickly; however they did not call for any pre-authorization of the work. They called after they got the hood open and after they replaced the hood latch cable. Not the end of the world, but not how a shop should operate. Autowerkes returned my vehicle with the kidney grille sloppily smashed back together and put in place. Opening the hood when the cable is broken requires going through the kidney grille. This involves separating the outer portion of the grille from the inner portion of the grill. When I had attempted to open the hood myself, I was able to take apart and reassemble the grill with no damage to the grille, unfortunately their mechanics could not. The new black grilles I installed just over a month ago are now damaged. I took my vehicle back for the shop to inspect the grille. The service manager was confrontational from the start. He stated that most of the time they have to completely break the grille to unlatch the hood. Don’t you think that’s something you’d warn a customer about in advance of completing the work? He continued to argue that any marks in the grille were caused by bugs not the shop. At no point had I even mentioned the marks they made on the grille. I was concerned because the clips on my brand new grille were now damaged and broken. The grilles are solid black plastic. Bugs may dull or mar the finish, but they wouldn’t create divots. You can clearly see in the picture that their tech was simply too lazy to pay any sort of attention when reassembling the grille. The clip that holds the two halves together was bent sandwiched between the two halves on the wrong side. The grille was very clearly not back together right, and yet they sent it out the door anyways. Very disappointed.
