I Love being able to just walk around and find things that I don't need , but I end up buying anyways , it's always fun to just look around and see what I can find.
Absolutely horrible service absolutely horrible manager. They marked something at $9.99 when I went to cash out, they would not accept the $9.99. they claimed it was $99.99. It was clearly 9.99.. horrible service zero stars.
Just wanna give a shout out to the the young man at the registers last night around 7:30p. His name is Alex and he just graduated from HS this year from what small chit chat we had. I had a cracked a few jokes because he had to void an item on my sale and he was able to just roll with the jokes and counter with witty banter in a nice professional way. You can't train that type of thing, he is definitely a good representation of your front desk area. Great Job Alex, you're future is bright. ##Tigerpride ?
Interesting closeout or end of lots type store. Remanisant of "Spags". Lot of great bargains to be found. Go with on open mind from auto to home stuff. Lots in between. Of and a good amount of time. Lots to see
I have been shopping here for years, but today the girl cashing me out was absolutely miserable.... didn't offer me a bag until after I had already run my credit card- and asked if they had bags.... and then with an attitude told me they were $0.05, I said well I would like a bag please... she threw it on the counter, didn't bag any of my items and just stared at me with a continued miserable attitude for no reason. Very bizarre when I was pleasant from the start of the interaction
Heh heh. This was my first time visiting Marden's and it reminded me a lot of a discount store we used to have in Massachusetts called Building 19. Merchandise availability is definitely hit or miss but what they have for the day can very well be a bargain.
the woman at the register was very rude to me my husband let me know. i unknowingly walked thru where there was a sign moved for no one to go thru and i mistakenly went thru it, behind me was my husband and the woman at the register made a sigh noise and rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders and then continued to blame me for something that she had done. seemed like she didn’t like her job said it was very busy but it was 830 on a wed morning… just rude and could have been trained better as a employee in a customer service based job.
Visited the wonderful Biddeford location and had a simply lovely experience with clerk number one on this date at 1:24 p.m..
The store was Chuck full of amazing deals seasonal items were needing orderly and above all they had a wonderfully cleaned bathroom!
Looking forward to visiting the locations in the future.
These stores are hitnor miss so don't go in looking for something specific. I found lots of good deals on Carhartt shirts. Got a lot of Easter basket stuff. I love looking around to see what I can find.
Love the constant refresh of items, especially the Internet stock! Careful on the items you purchase, even at 40% off, they sometimes price off an unrealistic starting point. Unfortunately, they don't price match unless it is a big box store. Besides that, it is my go to store for bargains!
What an incredible place! I wish I had found it before the day before we left to go home from vacation. It's a good thing we didn't bring the truck! We will visit Marden's EVERY time we go to Maine from this point forward!
Marden's Biddeford has a great and affordable selections of snacks if you want to treat yourself. In general, the prices are a steal! If you like quilting, you are out of luck. They have cut fabric. Go to the Marden's in Sanford for such items.
Cool store love all the variety of items. Got a pair of cute shoes for $3!!!! Lots of cute stuff and lots of stuff to go through. Didn't realize how huge the store was! Will definitely be back on my next visit to Maine!
Friendly helpful staff and a great variety of closeout items, particularly outdoor items, sporting goods, tools, lawn & garden items and clothing. Make sure you have time set aside to visit this one. You'll find there's a lot to see and look through.
Here on a trip home & had to stop at Mardens. I'm not impressed with this store. Things just everywhere, signs saying "do not open packages" but open packages all over the shelves. These open packages have price tags of $19.99 & up to $49.99 & more. I would not be happy paying those prices, then get home to discover not all pieces that were supposed to be included were because the rest is still sitting on the shelf at Mardens!

Reminds me of the old company building 19 out of Mass. Lots of stuff, very disorganized so you have to look for the deals. Some unusual food items I haven't seen in other places that were cool. Lots of markdown bins you need to fish through. Overall not bad but you need to take your time to find the deals.
Wow!! I can’t believe they made the Biddeford store bigger, I’m glad they did & they added home decor fabric. Looks like I’ll be doing my kitchen chairs over.
Good prices and a friendly staff. I wish they would put some more money into the store itself as it often looks run down. Just because it is a discount store doesn't mean that you have to buy the fixtures at a discount as well. Do more to dress the store up and make it appealing.
*Edit* After reading the store manager's response I changed my rating to 5 stars. I applaud you for opting to save money on the store layout, fixtures, shelving, etc and passing those savings on to the customers and employees.
Always surprised at what I can find here! I bought four dress shirts, four dress slacks, a jacket, belt, socks, all named brands with a few odds and ends for under $100 absolutely unbelievable! Another thing I love about this place is the prices on large boxes of snacks. I get all the office snacks here. If you see something you like don't wait until your next visit, you never know if it will still be there. Sometimes the variety and abundance is better than others. Overall a great store.
