My favorite Advance Auto Parts. They are so friendly and kind. When my husband's Yellow Top Ultima battery failed, they checked the warranty on it when I had completely forgotten that it even had one, and put it in the new one for us at no charge. They have fantastic prices on everything, and it's always a pleasure to chat with the staff about the cool cars that come in. I always feel like a valued customer at this location, and if they don't have something they can get it for you as quick as a whip! Like, seriously guys, I was trying to enjoy my Arby's and you already have my super old, obscure part from your warehouse? Now that's what I'm talking about! 10/10

Great experience. Kudos to Darryl who went above and beyond to provide great customer service when I stopped in regarding a replacement light bulb. He took the time to come out to the parking lot, diagnosed the problem and quickly fixed it, along with showing me a thing or two about how to address it myself if I should ever run into the same issue again. It's rare to find such cheery and helpful assistance, and if the other staff at this location is even half as good as Darryl is, then the hiring manager is on a hot streak. Keep up the exceptional work!

Lenna was AMAZING and VERY helpful when I arrived. It would have been a lot longer of a process and certainly a lot harder if I didn’t have her help and tools to remove my bad battery. Only major negative, the warranty on the battery expired 4 DAYS before my battery went bad! :( Not her fault at all though, I will be back for sure!!!

Purchased a battery in Dec 2021 for my car. After a year, it wouldn’t hold a charge. Took it in, and they tested and attempted to charge it for a full day — no luck. Experienced gentleman proceeds to tell me how volatile the Optima batteries can be and wasn’t surprised. He replaces it under my 3 year warranty. Battery is having the same issue again, and I took it to the same location. Employee recommends I leave it with them overnight to charge, and they’ll call me the next day. He advises me I’m still covered under warranty if they can’t get it to charge. No one calls me so I reach out to them and he advises me the battery is bad, and they need to pickup a replacement from the hub because they are out of stock. I requested if they can replace with something comparable in stock, and he states they can only replace with like for like. I wait another day and call to see if my replacement has arrived. They confirm and I head to the location. The person that helped me was not very helpful. They can’t find my account by my phone number (but the person two days before could?) and begins to question if I bought the battery from AAA. I explained that I purchased from this location and offered them to lookup by email or name if that would help locate the record (they refused). Magically, they find my account/receipt five minutes later and advises me that I’m only covered under warranty from the original purchase date. If that were the case, I should have been told that two days ago; I had to change my entire schedule to accommodate them. I never requested a “yellow top” battery; it was recommended by them. Crazy to me they don’t stand behind a product they sell and recommend. A car battery only lasting a little over a year is ridiculous. I hate leaving bad reviews for businesses but they earned this one. The employee needs customer empathy training. Needless to say, I’ll drive further down the road to their competitor going forward. UPDATE — The Store Manager called me at 7:59 PM. She was at the location when this interaction occurred but “just missed me” walking out the door. The call was to apologize for her the encounter, and tell me how she plans to coach her team. I’m really frustrated because they set bad expectations; if the first person tells me their policy, it’s not even an issue. I took my business to Autozone; they were beyond great. The employees even seemed like they wanted to be there to help.

Lena went above and beyond to help me, resolve a potential issue, with a warranty, on a battery, that I had bought for my mom‘s car. She helped me figure this out, from the other side of the country. I was in Florida for a seminar, when all of this was happening. Lena didn’t just tell me she would help me. She did. She looked into it, had a solution, and was calling me back, within minutes. She wasn’t working for commission, or trying to make her store money, because there was no sale involved. I think she could feel my sense of panic, because I wasn’t there, to be able to help my mom. It felt like Lena was my boots on the ground! My mom may be 92, but she’s still pretty independent.… She doesn’t like the thought of being forced to sit still… She needed to know that she had her car… Lena is a rockstar, thought quick on her feet, and genuinely cares about helping her customers. Any company would be blessed to have her as the face (and brains) of their operation!

Car would only start with a jump, replaced battery in the parking lot. Also tested the charging system, alternator, and starter for free. Everyone was super helpful while I was having a stressful day.

A diamond in the rough. Truly. The dealership wanted us to drop off our van for THREE DAYS before they could begin to tell us why the check engine light came on. For a family of 6, this does not work (even though do we have 2 other small vehicles.) So I did some research and found out that Advance offers free code reading on the spot. A LIFE SAVER. And **SHELLEY** was so helpful. She even provided a referral to somewhere that should be able to help us take care of the issue. We didn't buy anything today, and I felt bad about that. But we'll be back! This is now where we'll go to take care of all of our vehicles.

Went in to have my check engine light codes read and cleared and was told I would need to leave my phone with a manager to do it absolutely ridiculous never have I run into that before as someone who buys parts primarily from advanced auto I cannot believe they treat customers like that

Excellent customer service!!!!!! I needed coolant for my vehicle and the guy put it in for me and made sure my car was in working order!!!! I wish I had the guys name… He was amazing!!!!

My battery died while shopping near this location. I called and asked if they had jumper batteries, the man who answered walked one over to me without asking. He then tested and replaced my battery. Went well above what I expected when I called them. Wish I could remember the young man’s name to give him credit.

Robert was a very knowledgeable tech with quick service on battery testing and installation. Definitely an asset to this store. Was in and put in under 30 mins and he was busy with three customers prior to myself.

Was able to make online order but sent it to the wrong store for pickup. The counter personnel gave me a great experience with exchanging the store so I could pick my products up. So yes great job guys.

Had my car battery checked and replaced. While the battery check was inconclusive, given my alternator was working, I decided on my own to have the battery replaced because I didn't want to be stranded with a car that didn't start. They were great at replacing the battery, which in my case, required the removal and replacement of car frame parts to get to and remove the battery. They were very busy with other business deliveries and I appreciated them getting my battery replaced in about 30 mins. Please like my review if you found it helpful!!

Have shopped at Advance Auto Parts for years. Today I experienced an extremely rude and unprofessional male employee. Unfortunately one bad apple can ruin it for others. Save your time and money and take your business someplace else shouldn’t have to put up with unprofessional, nasty people in the auto parts industry who have no business working with the public.

Robert was excellent. Very professional, friendly, knowledgeable - tested my battery, determined was bad and recommended a replacement. He installed a new one, cleaned the wiring and I was on my way in less than a half hour. Great service. Thank you

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Tested my battery, proved it had gone bad, and got a new one installed in just a few minutes, while they juggled a few other customers. Very polite. A busy parts store is always a good parts store. People trust this location a lot, you can tell.

Great customer service! I went in for a battery and Robert was so helpful and got it all installed in my daughters car. We had actually stopped at another Auto Store down the road and the customer service was not good. I knew Advanced Auto would be better so we left the other store. I’m so glad we did! Thank you Robert!!

Go to another location. Mike the “manager” cannot manage to assist his customers adequately. He’s very defensive of store policy and won’t provide you with your actual options for service, only the easiest and most convenient for him. 9 people entered and exited during my half hour at the store. Only 2 left with a purchase. He’s a hot mess.

I went in here because my engine was short at check engine light light and I need some help figuring out what it was. The old man behind the counter handed me the code reader I went and got the code and went back in so I could buy my parts. The old man told me to Google the code. Clearly this is not the place to go if go need customer service. Go talk to Tim at the Advanced Auto on Shawnee mission Pkwy. He is great. This store should replace all its staff.

I am a regular here and I have never been let down. Every single employee I have spoken to had mechanic level knowledge on the parts I was buying. They've even suggested cheaper items to save me money on smaller jobs. One time the manager even helped me fix a broken part I had because they didn't have a replacement in stock. TLDR; If you are in Olathe, don't go to any parts store except this one

Absolutely amazing staff. They were so friendly and helpful. I first went to autozone and the staff were completely unhelpful, rude, and were jacking around and laughing in the back instead of helping me so I came here. These guys were more than happy to help and they got me exactly what I needed. I highly recommend this location.

Poorly staffed for a weekend, not knowledgeable, and little inventory. I tried to check out without providing a phone number. It absolutely confounded the gentleman ringing up my items. It took almost 10 minutes to buy four small and leave because of the poor staffing, wait time, and ignorance. I would rather drive anywhere else than go here again.

Fast, friendly and efficient. Only one inside sales staff and he was extremely busy selling me at battery and installing it. Both of his drivers were out on runs and he had a line of people waiting for him when he was done with me. My observation was this store was under manned.

Needed a headlight changed so I called and asked if they installed them if i bought it. He said not usually but he would be glad to help me out.Blake gave Super friendly service, was very helpful, talked to my kids while we waited and installed my light. Thankful for friendly people!!

Terrible service - one guy working and he completely ignored me when I walked in and went straight to the counter. Stood there for 10 minutes - all I needed was someone to check my battery and if the battery was bad I'd buy a new one. Stood there another 10 minutes and a delivery guy came in and went behind the counter. I looked to my son who was waiting patiently and said let's get out of here. All the sudden the delivery guy asked what I needed and told him I just needed someone to check my battery - he had no clue what to do. He got the battery tester and hooked it up to my battery but had no clue what to tell me next. He said specifically "I'm not a mechanic" - yeah, no joke, I know you're not but don't put on your website that you check batteries for free when you don't even know what to tell the customer next. First time in this store at this location and will NEVER go back. Stay way from this place - no customer service.

I came here with a problem with my light not working & a wire out of place on my car. I spoke with a wonderful gentleman named Randy. He was spactaculor at helping me & gave great customer service. I am highly satisfied, this guy needs a promotion ASAP. Thank you so much Randy for your help I'm a satisfied customer I left with a huge smile on my face. Thank you thank you thank you. 5 stars. Advanced Auto thank you for hiring this gentleman.
