I dropped off 9 55 gallon contractor bags today with both crushed and uncrushed pop cans their ticket said I only had four pounds. based on statistics each 55 gallon contractor bag holds anywhere from 300 to 400 empty uncrushed pop cans and 35 to 45 cans make 1 lb. if you do the math doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out there's a lot more weight there than what they claimed. got screwed I will not be going back and their method of measuring doesn't make any sense

What a horrific experience! I drove over a dozen nails as I was asked to drive through the building with the scale 3 times... since I had a bucket of pop cans that I wanted to get rid of in addition to my trailer load. The dozen workers standing around couldn't handle my pop cans on the first two trips through the building. And not to mention, each trip through the scales took 15 mins. I had a flat tire by the time I got home...What a horribly laid out operation with a bunch of rude people. I'd rather give my steel away for free to another company before dealing with MetalX again. Just accept you will get a flat tire, so your load better be able to buy you a new tire!

They do a decent job, if ya want to be a nag, go ahead. If ya want to act somewhat intelligent then check the prices, by calling day of, before you go, I mean, ya don't want to get aluminum price if you're selling gold. Clearly the complaints you hear about the place are prissy little nags. The employees are kind at their worst. Anywhere else you go, they act like jerks. It's a scrap yard, if you want to complain about how clean it is, then I would say you're kind of a sissy. At least they do a damn good job of keeping nails and screws out of the drive. And what better way to start or end your day than with a lovely lady handing you money in exchange for some old junk.

No consistency on their classification of metals. Weights are always different from when it weighed and was loaded. When I told them I didn't want to sell at that price was told to bad they already tossed in bins. Will not be returning.

Fairly clean facilities for a recycling place. Had people there to assist in unloading. I didn't like that I had to make multiple weigh-ins for the different material. It took a while because they were pretty busy, too.

It was a crazy day for them. They weighed my car then I had to drive around the building to get unloaded with aluminum cans then drive back in to reweigh my car so that I could get $9 for 10 bags of cans at .30 a pound. A big waste of time.

Last four visits they say I got exactly 80 lb and exactly $28 the last four visits.. even a lady at the office agreed at something was messed up but did nothing to fix the error that day I brought gutters, aluminum siding and other stuff as I usually do but I take it to OmniSource because of this problem of their scales being off. Then they refuse to let me put my own weight on their scale.

Metal X typically has polite, fairly efficient, knowledgeable and helpful employees. It's a good place to take your scrap and recyclable metal for cash. You must have an ID in order to get paid for your recycled metals. They pay fair market prices per pound.

I have been coming here for over 20 years but I'm now considering the competition. Why, because you started closing at 4 o'clock. Who that actually works can get there by 4. Kinda defeats the purpose of trying to make extra money.

This place is a prime example of one of those so money hungry companies that are beyond quick to RIP you off not paying you your actual worth just to turn around and make themselves a great profit... you can tell they are doing great business wise so why the need to be so cheap? Oh yeah, money hungry!

A good place to recycle any scrap metal you have. My whole experience with them has been recycling aluminum pop and beer can. They make that process very easy. You simply drive into the main building and make a sharp left. Within a few feet, you pull up next to the aluminum recycling weight scale. You can exit your car and start putting your can on the scale, or you can wait in your vehicle while they do that for you. After weighing all your metal, the attendant will hand you a computer generated receipt detailing how much and what kind of metal you brought in. Next you drive straight ahead, exit the building and turn left again, then drive straight ahead until you're in front of the main office. Take that slip of paper into the office and give it to the cashier who will pay you in cash. The whole process is very streamlined and efficient and all the employees I've encountered there are very friendly and helpful. I'm not sure what metals they'll pay for but a quick call to their office will answer that. A final note for aluminum can recyclers: make sure your cans are fairly clean and completely empty. Don't bring them cans full of dirt or rainwater or whathaveyou.

I have been recycling here for a many years now, and have enjoyed seeing the company grow and invest in many updates to their facility. Fast friendly and efficient service. I won't go anywhere else.

I brought a vehicle here to scrap. I was a little nervous because I didn't know the procedure or how the process worked. When I drove in the building, I was directed on where to go and the guy working the scales was super friendly and very helpful. After he got the information he needed, he pointed me in the direction I needed to go to next and off I went. The entire process took very little time and was extremely easy to take care of. I would absolutely return and I would recommend them to anyone else. Thanks, MetalX!

For a nearby, easy access scrap yard, can't beat it. The weigh-in line can be backed up some days so if you're unloading a trunk load of pop cans, it may take a while. Scrap prices are fair. Unless you've got a flatbed trailer full of sheet metal, this is a good option.

Every single person that works in this scrap yard deserves a huge shout out. Always eager to help and always friendly. Never a single frown in the office as well as the guys in the yard. Great Job MetalX!

I had a lot of excess sheet metal to recycle and they made it very easy. It was a little confusing to figure out what to do the first time, but everyone was friendly and helpful. Plus, they gave fair compensation for my scrap metal. Definitely would go back if needed.

MetalX offers fair scrap prices and have a relatively clean facility for a scrap yard. They are fast in and out with extra dollars in your pocket. You will need an ID for anything other than cans. When pulling in to MetalX follow the signs for directions on where to go to off load.

1st time in their facility. The employees were friendly, but seemed a little bored. They unloaded the 4 large bags of cans from the car, and promptly handed me the receipt. This is where the problem started. The slip noted that 15 pounds was deducted from the total weight to account for ice. The ambient air temp was 45 which is well above freezing, the cans were bagged up in dry warm weather, and were kept inside my shed until I put them in my vehicle. So there was absolutely NO way that there could have been any ice in any of the bags or the cans. The employees didn't open any of the bags to verify this.

Great service! I've been taking stuff in for a few years now, they almost always have people that are way nicer to deal with then omni source and it feels much less like your doing a drug deal and more like it's an actual business then compared to omni source.

Needs improvement. Hard to communicate with the guy on the scale because it's loud in there. I called with a question and the woman on the phone was in a hurry and I don't think she even understood what I was asking and then she hung up quickly.

Have never had a problem with unloading material. It is a little muddy sometimes just where some boots. If it is real heavy ask for some help and they will help you unload it. They will even use their magnet to get big things out of a trailer. I'm handicapped and some one always helps me unload my trailer. Prices are down a little but so is every other scrap place. Price of Aluminum cans is way down but they still pay the most of anyone. Always friendly workers and on Saturday mornings there is always some donuts n coffee in office where you get paid.
