I had a disappointing experience with Mokena Automotive Inc. In my opinion, the vehicles I looked at did not meet the quality standards I expected. I noticed several issues that raised concerns for me during inspection and test driving, and I did not feel comfortable moving forward with a purchase. I also felt that the vehicle history and condition were not explained clearly. I would strongly recommend that buyers do their own thorough inspection and research before purchasing. you, you ,you, tsk tsk tsk
Bought a 2016 Nissan from them about 4 years ago, car never had any issues at all. Sales man was super nice, even offered to come get me from the train station seeing as I live out of state. Was going to purchase another vehicle from them this year but I was told by someone over the phone the car his minor damage previously, after my financing company looked into the car, they discovered it was more than minor damage.
Sold me a 2011 honda civic coupe drove for a few months drove fine I hit a bump and my car started smoking i went too get it checked out and they said the dealership didn't put the clamp on my coolant hose so I had coolant leaking everywhere my car overheated I had too tow it and I called the owner about it too see if he could cover some of the charges and he said he would cover half and never ended up sending the check the car works fine now but it's 190 dollars and a tow later and a day missed from work.
I have been looking for a new car for a while and stumbled upon Mokena Automotive. They seem to have great prices for relatively new and low mile cars. However they list these cars as "clean title" but after paying for a VIN search you can see that the car is salvage and has a rebuilt title. I have nothing against rebuilt titles and giving a vehicle a second chance, but the false advertising is a major red flag.
I bought a Lexus here a few years ago and although they didn't do any of the minor repairs they promised that they had ordered (stereo button and headlight), I would use again. But my number is blocked because I followed-up about those 2 things. Anyone else calls and they pick up immediately. Also was told that the center console cover was supposed to just fall off when you slid it open. I didn't check the console until I was a mile away, and not a crisis, but that was just a bold-face lie.
I bought 2 cars from them .they are everything they say they are honest ,excellent service I have had my first car over 6 years and it runs great ! I'll be back for a3rd .
We had another good experience at Mokena Automotive. We still have a car purchased for our son 6 years ago that is going strong and we just got a car for our daughter from there as well. We have referred friends and family and everyone has had a good experience with their purchases.
Ronnie is by far the superior dealer I’ve done business with. I’ve got a Mazda 3 and an Infiniti Q50 from him, that both drive like a dream! He even replaced parts post-purchase when a very minor issue came to my attention.

I worked with Ron to purchase a car for my daughter. I specifically asked if the car was safe and reliable. I full well knew that I would need to put some money into a used car. However he stated the car was perfect for her and safe. The next morning I took it for emissions and the entire dash lit up like a Christmas tree, I did not pass emissions. When I took the car in I was told the oil wasn't even registering on the dip stick. There were leaks everywhere, the catalytic converter was rigged to try to pass emissions however that didn't work. This car came with a warranty also. However Ron gave us $300 and was done with us. He wanted me to bring the car to his mechanic for repair but I didn't even trust this guy to tie my shoes at this point! Its been almost 2 weeks and the car is still sitting in my driveway needing almost 3k in repairs. Spring forward 2yrs and 4k in repairs. My daughter went to trade in her car at buick and all we could do is salvage it. The "clean" title we got was a fake. The miles had been rolled back by almost 100k!! Now wonder it needed so much work. If you got a good car from here then you got lucky!!!

Ronnie, owner of the dealership, was super easy to work with. I bought many cars (over 25 in my life time so far) and this was by far the easiest and smoothest transaction ever. He had all the paper work ready while I was test driving and checking out the car in detail. Negotiation was smooth, no hassle, going back & forth with salesman then manager like other typical dealerships. And the BEST part is that Mokena does NOT charge DOC FEE nor Dealer Prep Fee which can run up to $1,000 at the other dealerships. Trust me I've been to many dealerships and they ALL charge $325 DOC FEE and up to $695 on Dealer Prep Fees for getting their cars ready (repaired & detailed) for sale.
Car I've purchased drives great, but noticed a leak on the radiator. He told me to bring it back and had it replaced with a new one. I will definitely come back for future purchases and will gladly refer my friends and family members. He does it right and is one of the few good guys in the used car business.
As they say, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Found this place online and was amazed at the low price/mileage cars. Well, they sell junk/salvaged cars here. Not sure if all of their inventory is, just do your homework on the VIN before you invest your time and energy. I would have made a long drive just to end up disappointed. I can't speak to anything else that they do here and could be great people.

Advertises car for sale on Craig's List as having clean titles. When you go to the Secretary of State's website, and run the VINs, they come back with rebuilt titles. Just another used car store trying to scam people.
Decided to check them out after a recommendation. These guys were great to work with! We never felt pressured, they were very accommodating and we left very happy with a great deal! Would definitely recommend others!
I bought a car from here a month ago and had a great experience. I knew up front that I was buying a used and repaired car. They are honest and didn't try to hide anything. I even saw pictures of the original damage to the car. They repaired both cosmetic and mechanical damage to make the car practically brand new. He makes a small profit, you get a reliable car for much less than you'd pay at a dealership or even from a private seller. Highly recommended!
I highly recommend this place! I visited a few times before I purchased. Nick was very honest and upfront about the vehicles which helped with the anxiety I had about purchasing. I held off giving a review until I was able to have my vehicle fully checked by a mechanic and driven quite a bit. I've had my Equinox for few weeks and I'm completely satisfied!!! I'm planning on purchasing a vehicle for my son from here a soon
If I could give negative stars I would. Don’t buy a car from here. I was lied to. Had nothing but problems with the vehicle I purchased. Dumped thousands of dollars off work into the car. Only to find out when I traded the car in, that I was sold a vehicle that was in an accident and was a total loss. It had a clean title tho.
Little disappointed, asked to verify a specific item on a car I came to look at and was given wrong info. I drove 3.5 hours to find out the car was not something I would buy due I this issue. Owner did seem genuinely remorseful, he went by memory instead of going to look.
