Lady on the scale house that talks thru speakers is arrogant and annoying. Talks bad on us truckers, well its hard to hear her thru the speaker! Because her voice is that annoying. Even worse, she cant look at u in the eye, lol.
2nd time being there . Guys are rude and prices pretty low . Idk how the village Bourbonnais have that metal scrap yard in the middle of town . It eye sore ! They need to move !
Free and easy recycling for a Bourbonnais resident. There a couple of things to consider when you arrive. The yard is a muddy mess if there has been recent rain or snow. The limited parking is far from the drop off area. You can drive to the pickup ramp. but there’s a lot of large trucks moving around and I don’t trust avoiding debris on the ground that will puncture a tire. However, I am great full for their service.
Belson is great! They are straightforward in their rates, and very easy to work with, and payments are made as agreed. We were not their usual client, but all the drivers worked with us to make loading from the dock with a forklift as easy as possible. From the driver that arrived with the truck to the President of the company - - all are real people, straight shooters. If you have scrap steel in the area, give Belson a call!!
I have been dealing with Belson Steel for a few years now , and I have to say they are a gem in this Industry. The owner Marc, is a straight shooter that does exactly what he says . His son Chase and son-in-law Zac are both of equal character. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Apart from scrap metal they also have IM steel which provides reusable steel product (plates, pipes, beams etc…) I wouldn’t deal with any other scrap company in Chicago or surrounding area besides Belson.

I received quality customer service and the best price for scrap iron when we tore down an old commercial building.. They coordinated the logistics for several loads.. The the drivers were observant of the tight surroundings and office staff was very helpful and well organized ..
Best place to bring your recyclables. Steel, aluminum, copper, brass, they pay higher than any other yard around. Really nice guy in the scale house! 10 out of 10 stars. Ask for Big John.
