His place is great place, I bought for my kids and now for the grandkids. Prices are reasonable and good quality clothing.

I concur with many of the comments. You always find something. Clothing, housewares and some other items!

ISSUE THAT NEEDS RESOLVED. MAKE A LESS THAN 5 ITEMS CASHIER LANE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. So many people at this store buy what seems like 50 pieces of clothing while people with one item have to wait almost 20 minutes to get checked out. Not fair. I will change this review back to 5 stars when this change happens. My old review: Goodwill seems to have been raising their prices, so I've started coming here more often, I typically go to thrift stores around the south suburbs 1-2 times a week and Village Discount Outlet is a solid choice if you want a massive variety of clothes and items in the back of the store, many different items come in and go. You can't just assume your first trip will have anything to offer. Checking every so often you just might find a lot of good deals

I been coming to this location since 10+ years. I’m very disappointed on the very high prices for used clothes. They’re close to the clothes on a regular store that are new and not used.

This prices are ridiculous!! More expensive then name brand clothes in the clearance rack and brand new I didn’t know this was plato’s closet or ebay one thing is a vintage store another is a second hand store omg

I have found countless treasures here. Always enjoy my time in there. A way to enjoy shopping for a great bargain.

Treasure Hunting at Its Finest! Thrifting is honestly one of my favorite pastimes—it feels like a hobby and a little adventure all in one. Today, I stopped by The Village Outlet in Chicago Heights and walked out with some amazing finds for just $22! One of my best scores was a lightly used, beautifully crafted knee pillow—perfect for prayer, meditation, or gardening. I also snagged a designer straw garden hat ???? and a couple of cute summer blouses ??. Yes, prices have crept up a bit over time, but if you sign up for their rewards membership, you’ll get text reminder alerts for Sunday’s 3-for-$1 deals on select tag colors, and half-off color-of-the-day discounts the rest of the week. So, you can still bargain shop like a pro. The store was peaceful this afternoon, and I didn’t have to elbow my way through the aisles—always a win! Big shoutout to the hardworking staff who keep everything color- and size-organized, clean, and easy to browse. ?? If you’re into budget-friendly gems and surprise finds, this place is a must-visit. Happy thrifting! ?️✨

I love village discount outlet. They always have the best stuff at great prices, and they always hire the nicest people! Shop small, it really beats shopping at a big chain thrift store.

Will change prices at the register! Manager tried to charge $9 for a $1 item because “it’s vintage” and “should have had a sensor on it.” (There was no sensor, and it was at the bottom of a pile.) Called them out on it and was told to not come back. No problems there- no shortage of thrift stores that won’t rip you off!

I used to leave this store with huge bags of clothes and now I leave with nothing because so much of it is overpriced. I saw a beaded necklace for $42 that was cute but too expensive I might as well have gotten a brand new necklace somewhere else. Other pieces of jewelry were $20+. A Calvin Klein top was $21. I was interested in a painting but it was $85! Mind you, all of these things they got for freeeeee! So after this place I just ended up going to Ross for cheaper and better deals lol.

This place is a shell of what it once was. They price a lot of average/decent things ridiculously high. This used to be a place where you can find good things for good prices…now? It’s hard to even call this a thrift store. Simple google search will show that this off brand Beatles shirt is about $20, they have it priced at $40 (white tag) in a very worn dirty condition. Just one of many many examples. Terrible ?

New owners. They no longer have the Monday white tag sales, (which were already not that great of a deal tbh) now they’re doing 10% off for vip? Members. Pretty stupid. I challenge the owners to compare how much they make on Monday’s w/ this new system vs the old system. I bet it’s a HUGE difference. A lot of people (including myself)! will stop coming here. It’s not uncommon for me to drop $300-$500 on a Monday. (& I’ve spent $700-$1,000 a few times) But Not anymore! Get wise & stop overpricing your white tags, do a 50% off sale for white tags or at the very least bring back the old sales.

This thrift store can be fun to do a quick run-through, but for everyday shopping, I wouldn’t recommend it. The atmosphere is overall chaotic, and customers tend to hog isles or racks in hopes of preventing others from looking. Employees often look busy but can be rude and want you out of their way. Clothing and items are subpar, and I recommend digging a little. When it comes to prices, I think we all know they are way too HIGH. The majority of the time, I am looking for essential clothing, and I just end up going to Walmart to grab something brand new because of the overpriced items here. When it comes to checking out, it can be hit or miss. Employees do indeed take things away from you if they find the tag to look “weird.” This usually means they will “save” the item for you, mark it up quite a bit, and have you buy it. So ask yourself if you want that item because you can grab a new one for less hassle elsewhere.

Love shopping at this place, I’ve never had a problem until now. I was at check out and they really took away a shirt I really wanted saying that the tag was in bad condition. When clearly it was a new tag. They didn’t even give me a good explanation, the lady just took it and left.

Lots to choose from, wide selection of sizes & styles. This place is huge! I got 2 blouses & a wind breaker & my daughter got 3 spaghetti strap top & a shawl type vest all for $34!! Second visit here & next time we're in town we will come back!!

All village discount outlets will never disappoint me and this is a perfect example of one. Very good location I haven't been here in a while I live in Chicago but I came out in this area to visit my dad and I needed a quick dress shirt to put on for an event and I didn't have a lot of time so I came here. This is a good location the pricing could be a little better I felt like some things could have been a little lower priced but nevertheless this was still a good experience

The building does have a decline physically BUT there are diamonds in the rough!!!! Store needs a deep clean. The prices have gone up a lot, I still pay less for some brand new designer items with tags, shelving, etc. beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Happy hunting

Went there today and saw that they've moved the jackets where the dresses used to be. Fine, okay HOWEVER they have a lack of dresses now. The selection was short and trash, even the white tagged dresses were lackluster. Also if you're a size 4 in dresses don't even bother here. I racked up on dresses last fall... what happened?

You have to have patience to shop here. Clothes are color coordinated and separated kids, women, and men. You can find pretty decent hidden treasures if you have the time to look through everything. They have half off certain color tags every day and they change on Thursday. What I love about this place is you will always walk out with something in hand. They have kitchenware in good condition and they also provide an outlet to plug in any electronics you are thinking about buying. You can find lots of name brands such as Adidas, Nike, North face, Colombia, and many more for the low.

Slightly below average thrift store. I feel that the clothing was outdated, overpriced and kinda dirty. I lost over 100 pounds and need to try on clothes to determine if they'll fit, and I only got one shirt. Their other stuff is what you'd expect at a thrift store. The bathroom was in pretty bad shape.

Edit: I've tried to give this thrift store a chance, but my recent visit was overwhelmingly negative. They had the audacity to take items away from me at checkout so they could be repriced, claiming that it was an error that they were put out at all. They offered me the items at the new prices, but it was a joke, going from the original $20 for five games to the new price of $20 or more per game. If I have to worry about a roadblock like this at checkout *every* time I visit, then I'm just going to write them off. It's an awful feeling to have a good deal teased and then taken away so quickly. They should honor their pricing errors, or work harder to prevent these errors from happening to begin with. I've been visiting this thrift store for five years now, and sadly have had to witness it slowly decline into what it is now. Good deals are now nowhere to be found here, and they'll try very hard to get the top dollar out of very damaged goods. Alongside this, employees are very rude to customers on a regular basis. I enjoy collecting video games and this used to be a great place to visit for good deals on used games. Unfortunately now they price their games going off of eBay. The eBay listing might warrant that price, but not the beat up case, and scratched up disc that Village Discount offers at the same rate. On top of the lack of a return policy, buying from here just isn't worth it anymore. I've been willing to put up with the rudeness of the managers and employees up until now, but I just can't justify spending my money here anymore with the way things have been going.

This was my second time in this store. The first time wasn't pleasant and this time was worse. The Hispanic lady supervisor was very rude to the customers and the pregnant black cashier. I ran in there for one item and left it right on that counter. I will NOT spend my money in an establishment ran by someone like that! Its a thrift store...some ppl are on hard times and to experience a supervisor like that is a slap in the face.

I LOVE this place! I always find what I need or what I've been searching for! I found some Bob sketchers (Like New) the exact ones I've been looking for $2.75 ?. The only negative is i lost about 50 pounds shopping because it was so hot in the store. Please turn up the air....

I like Village Discount because they are not overpriced and the prices are EXTREMELY reasonable compared to the big box thrift stores. You are guaranteed to find something within yiur budget. This is one of the bigger Village Discounts that I've visited. They also have 3 tiers on some of their racks. As usual, everything was completely organized by color and season. Must visit!

Today everything was 50% off. The clothes are neatly organized. The store organizes the clothes according to color not size. Love the kids selection not so much the women's selection but everyone is bound to find something they like. Friendly or at the least cordial employees.

This place is average size but they have a huge selection of everything. they have a lot of sales through the week. 50% off during the holiday. It is well organize for a thrift store, but the back shelves where the non clothing item are it is a big mess. the staff are nice. the restroom needs a update. it smells and just eww.

This is a great site that is highly organized and has a great selection of clothing for everyone in the family. Watch for their half off days on certain holidays, like President's Day and others. They also have great prices on seasonal items at the end of the season. I got several cargo shorts marked down from $6 to $3 at the beginning of fall.

Pretty crowded and very hard to find what you need but there's always a diamond in the rough if you have the time. They offer half-price on certain items each day . for example some things are marked with pink tags or blue tags or orange tags Etc. When you walk into the store it may say half price pink yellow and blue tags today. You quite literally could walk out of here with a outfit including shoes for $3. I found 200 Pokemon cards in a bin for $5 for my son. He told me they were worse about $50.
