There’s no way I could have received the service I just did at A&R and not leave a review. These guys know what they’re doing and to say they’re fair with their pricing is an understatement. I needed an alternator changed on my vehicle and they had my car back to me in less than 24 hrs. This is the third job they’ve done for me in the last few years and if I need anything else done in the future, there’s no doubt that A&R will be my go-to place.

Guys replaced my alternator on my 99 f250, Fixed my inoperable brake lights & turn signals plus my electric door lock for a very fair price. I will certainly be back when something else needs attention.

I selected A&R automotive electrical repair because I felt my classic Datsun 720 camper needed experienced technicians to repair several issues, ranging from a seemingly faulty, air conditioning switch to a major short and loss of most electrical components. In less than three hours the expert at A&R had the problems solved with the discovery of excessive corrosion in the fuse block, and that issue took care of all three problems😎 the bill came in under estimate and I am very happy with the repairs. I ordered the wrong part for my car. But they went above and beyond to try to get me back on the road. We were unsuccessful but they were extremely helpful and went out of their way. Definitely appreciate they service and honesty and will definitely be back.

Had an electrical problem with my 2020 Toyota Camry and was told it was the voltage regulator. Call A&R and explained the symptoms and was told it was more likely the battery. Went to them, they tested it and found it to be the battery. They will get my business from now own.

I needed a replacement starter for a diesel marine engine. A&R didn't have one in stock but asked me to leave mine with them so they could rework it. They had it repaired in less than three hours! I got it back on my boat and it looked brand new and started up like a champ! I highly recommend this place. Great customer service, super reasonable price, and a quality product. I am very impressed with these guys!

I’m lucky I found this place. I had a been on a road trip from Asheville N.C to FL and had seen my battery light flickering at me sending an error code I hooked up my meter and new my alternator was about to go out it was July 5th 6:00 P.M and A lot of businesses were closed for the holiday weekend. Lucky for me I was checking into the Holiday Inn and could not help but notice A and R Electric. I thought to myself this is too good to be true. The gentleman working there was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and swapped out my alternator super fast. I was very impressed with his customer service and reasonable price for my alternator. I highly recommend A and R electric

This is a great auto electric shop, they are very well experienced and get the job done right the first time. This is the only electric shock I personally recommend.

These guys helped me get my Yanmar high output alternator rebuilt for my boat. They did it quickly, and cost-effectively. If it's electrical I go to A&R whether Auto or Marine. This is an unendorsed review. Tony is awesome.

I was unable to drop the vehicle off myself, my son and wife dropped it off. Mistake on my part. Most issues regarding my son's safety in his first vehicle were not addressed or even noted. Thankfully I was back in town before he got behind the wheel on his own and took care of the issues after paying nearly 600$. Will never recommend or patron again. I hate to beat small local businesses, but this place is a joke.

What a great find. Alternator on sailboat had quit along with my spare. They fully tested both alternators, sold me a regulator. All while I waited. Highly recommend.

I took my Chevy Monte Carlo Ss to these guys over a year ago, I should've wrote this a long time ago, I was having issues with my ignition , car wouldn't start the owner worked on my car he told me he would bypass mu computer and would be able to get it going, so he got the car to turn over, but the gas wasn't flowing, so he put WAY TO MUCH IN INTAKE AND BLEW UP MY MOTOR. then he tells me to get the pice of S... OUT OF HERE BY TODAY,i had to get it towed home, I recently saw him in town at the shop that referred me to him, and when I left he acknowledged how he did me wrong, wow no class, he destroyed my car where no mechanic would even work on it after, had to junk it.. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife just left their office. She had wanted them to look at our truck which the wiring in the back had caught fire and burned them up. The owner, Tony, he said he was anyway, did not even want to look at it at first but finally walked outside to take a look at it. He wanted my wife to fill out some paperwork but she asked him if her husband could just stop by when I got off work and do it because she had a baby in the car. He told her no and the baby was going to have to wait being very rude to her. She was upset and started to leave and he came running across two sets of traffic and told her she could not leave the truck there. Not sure what kind of business owner would act like that and plan on keeping any business. I have had work done there in the past but dealt with another man who I always thought was the owner. He was always nice and helpful like a business person who charges $90/hr should be. I once would have recommended this place but will steer anyone I know away from this place in the future.

I brought in an alternator I had purchased elsewhere. It wasn't putting out a charge and was wanting some advice on how to hook up the wires. Would have gladly paid this guy for his time. When he found out I had purchased the alternator from someone else, he told me to "Take it to them". What a tool this guy is! I've never been back since.

I had a brake controller installed on my Chevy truck by A&R. The owner Tony gave me a quote of 1-2 hrs labor. He said that he had installed many brake controllers on vehicles, to be fair the truck was not present when he gave me that quote. But this is a common Chevy 2500 and having a good understanding of the process to install the unit it's an hour to an hour and a half job. He mentioned if I choose to install the bracket and device myself leaving only the connection of 4 wires, I could save a few dollars, which I did mount the unit to the dash myself. When informed my truck was ready he said the charge was for 2.5 hours labor despite the fact I installed the controller on the dash myself. I didn't quibble about the cost and paid in full. After hooking the truck to my fifth wheel trailer connection and going through the settings on the controller it flashed on and off a couple of times. I looked under the hood to see if I could find the cause and found the negative terminal nut holding the ring terminal could be turned with my fingers. Also the positive wire to the controller was routed and in contact with the negative terminal both these items have potential to fry the circuitry of my brake controller. Also when placing ring terminals to battery connections common practice is to stack terminals on each other as they are made of highly conductive plated copper. The positive terminal they installed was placed on top of a stainless washer and not stacked terminal to terminal and no effort was made to remove the anti-corrosive grease that was on the washer prior to screwing the nut directly on the terminal thus increasing resistance in the circuit/ thereby decreasing efficiency to a degree of the device. Bear in mind it clearly says no warranty on the receipt of which I questioned him as it gave me cause for concern. He said because it was a customer supplied part hes not going to cover diagnosis if issues occur despite it being a new in the box device. I did pose the question about workmanship and he said aahh you don't have to worry about that. To get more to the point I spoke with the owner about my concerns after these discoveries. I started the conversation with the point that I wouldn't have been there unless I felt that their workmanship could have lead to damage to the electronics of my controller. I showed him one photo of what I felt to be unsafe work practice bear in mind that I am towing a 14000# fifth wheel and this is SAFETY RELATED EQUIPMENT and he immediately became argumentative and loud not really allowing me to further elaborate on my additional concerns. Told me I was nit picking his work and that I should just have done the work myself, telling me pretty much to kick rocks and showed me the door. Extremely UN-professional behavior from a business owner. I would use caution when dealing with this business. I am just a semi knowledgeable person and don't mind paying for quality professional services clearly the workmanship at A&R Auto Electric can use some significant improvement in attention to detail, and from my experience the owner just doesn't care. I am just thankful that my brake controller wasn't damaged in the process as clearly the owner wouldn't have stood behind their work. The owner was right and I should have just done the wiring myself and saved the $200 dollars, it would have been done properly the first time around. Pride in workmanship/craftsmanship is a very rare trait these days. Remove review

They fixed my car several times. The prices were reasonable because my problems were somewhat simple. One of the mechanics either smoked in my car or just reeks of cigarettes, but to their credit they aired out my car and sprayed some air freshener. Never happened a second time. these guys definitely know their stuff. I would have given 5 stars due to their expertise. However, they lost 1 star because of the smoking. I solidly and wholeheartedly recommend this shop.

Don't listen to any other reviews other than this one! These guys ROCK! I was told I needed a new battery and an ALTERNATOR at Auto Zone. That was BS! All I needed was a battery. They replaced with a new one for a lower price and I am back in business in 15 minutes! Stop here--and don't worry.

OVERCHARGE ALERT!!!!! I'm a semi-retired electrician and mechanic. I didn't feel like getting under my Jeep in the Florida heat and changing a starter I could purchase for $79 RETAIL COST, so I went to this establishment to get the work done. Mind you, the work is super easy comprised of 3 connections and 2 bolts. At best this is a 15 minute job. Starters are very accessible from underneath. One hour later I walked by and saw my car suspended to one side on one jack, not even on a lift. I went inside to meet the owner and as I was talking to him about my car he silenced me saying "you don't know what else can be wrong". RED FLAG! My total cost, a few dollars shy of $250. He woudn't take American Express because I know I could have disputed the charge so I paid by other means. He gives me this 1950s style chinsey looking carbon copy of a written receipt and told me I had a 1 year warrantee. Yeah, you guessed it, The starter is probably refurbished and probably cost him $30 at best. So I was charged $220 for a 15 minute job. It's an American made Jeep not a BMW!!! I will be putting in a complaint with the BBB as well. He does work for many other mechanics in the area and he can't get away with overcharging them, but as a drive in customer? You better off going to those other mechanics.

Charged me to test battery and alternator with a separate price to fix my issue. Found tommyz alt and starter 20 mins from st. Augustine and he tested batter and alternator for free and fixed my issue which was very affordable and impeccable customer service with a warranty!

They fixed my alternator and charging system for my 1967 Lincoln Continental. Great service done right the first time.

They rebuilt my alternator for my 1987 BMW and they did a fantastic job! Looks and works like brand new and even warrantied it for a year. I always love being able to use a local business for things like these, support your local community!

Tony and his technicians are exceptional. Remember when automotive repair people rebuilt alternators and starters, instead of buying new parts to bolt in until your car worked? Knowing how to diagnose and repair properly is a wonderful art, one practiced at A & R. This should be your go-to place for any electrical issue with your car.
