Avoid this place I just dropped off 260 lbs of aluminum they found one or two pieces of aluminum that had a screw in it and they paid me $15 per pound. When we went to go look at the pile their worker cleared that pile out in less than 2 minutes. I literally could have just went in the pile and grab the few pieces that had screws in it and just flicked of the screw out and got 55 cents per pound instead of $146 I got $39 for $260 pounds of aluminum. Every other place considers dirty aluminum that has screws or nails included in it that's why it's called dirty aluminum not irony aluminum this place will rip you off and scam you out of your money and your time. Every place in Jacksonville when they say dirty aluminum that means it has screws nails and other stuff attached to it and they still pay $0.55 per pound and once it's off your trailer they will make sure that it's gone so you can't tell them that you're going to load it up and take it somewhere else. They will try to find the one piece of aluminum that has a single screw in it so they can screw you over 40 cents per pound. 98% of my trailer load had no screws or nails because when we ripped the soffit down all the nails fell out and there was only a couple screws on a couple pieces but they take all of your metal to the back immediately so you cannot prove to them that 98% of your aluminum has no screws or nails. That also doesn't make any sense because every other scrap yard considers dirty aluminum any aluminum that has screws or nails attached to it the screw that was there literally could have been pulled out or just turned over and it would have fell out. Avoid this place if you're not trying to get scammed go to Jacksonville they will still pay you .55 to $0.60 cents per pound even if it has nails or screws in it SCAM ARTISTS. WHEN THEY WERE SITTING THERE LOOKING ALL OVER THE GROUND ALL OF THE PIECES HAD NO NAILS OR SCREWS EXCEPT ONE.
I live right behind them and there days where is so loud like today that it shakes my trailer real bad and some stuff fall off my wall and before anyone starts to hound me about moving its not an option. I have lived here longer than them. Plus my stepson who used to collect cans for money always got screwed.
Just had a wonderful experience there. Closer to where I used to go in Volusia county when I lived in Volusia. But I have moved to Palm Coast so they are only 30 minutes away. And everybody there is super duper nice and everybody on the property was in a good mood. I mean that is not the way it usually is when I go to my usual spots in Volusia. The people are upset that worked there. The clients I guess you could call us are usually in a bad mood. Always thinking that they're getting ripped off LOL. But I had a very good experience and I really do appreciate what y'all do for me. So next time I will come prepared 100%. Thank you so much. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I went here even though the pricing is never based on the national scrap price, mainly for convenience. But after today, I'll be taking all my scrap to Jax. They tried to give me brass for solid copper lightning protection air terminals, claiming they are brass, which they are 100% not. I've been doing lightning protection for over 10 years, and my boss has been doing it for more than 35 years. These guys don't know what they’re buying; they’re trying to say it’s brass underneath. I said fine, I won't sell and will take it to Jax , and they said they could have their boss look at it, and he would even tell me it's brass. But I've had this argument already with their boss before, and even he agreed it was solid copper previously. He wasn't on site today, so I'll be going elsewhere. You shouldn't have guys on scales who can’t tell the difference between brass and copper and have to have someone double check.
Stopped in today to recycle some scrap aluminum. The guys there were very quick and professional. I was very pleased with the price paid and the entire experience. Happy customer here!
It's basically impossible to bring the good Metals here. Even if you have a liacenced haul off buisness they make it VERY difficult to take aluminum. Worth the trip out to a different scrap yard. Will take you 30-60 min just to go through thier process and wait in line to get rid of one thing. Brought 25lb aluminum grate, had one screw on it, said it's dirty lmao, and wouldn't let me remove the screw. Buisness must be rough.
Fine if doing a general dump of mix from the trailer. If you've got copper, aluminum etc. Go to a different dump.
Kinda some funky prices? They don't care what currant national scrap prices on internet..there price or highway..
Also watch the small scale guys, don't seem to have a clue, how do mistake a 5 gallon bucket of brass for tin? My agent driver didn't know till he brought ticket back to office..watch and review ticket before leaving that area..this is not first time either! Seems like every time I send a load, we are short or missing something on ticket. Watch out at this place!
Why would we bring 11 pounds of tin in a bucket to small scale with a bunch of copper?
Att: small scale users. No more small amounts of tin allowed at small scale, not even a old muffler and a few old beams, less than 100 pounds. Now you must drive though traffic control in back for $4.00. and always remember this company is refusing to post on iscrap app too.
Just dropped of 30 lb aluminum was a bolt in it they gave me $ 3.48 lol I used to do big scrape jobs etc. I'm am old now just saying these guys will rip you off no surprise
Was cheated and treated disectfully. They cheated on the weight and gave me less than 10 dollars for a good amount if prime, clean aluminum. I will never go there again And I hope this keeps someone else from being cheated.
Shady business practices...
Careful selling copper with other metal at the same time to these guys. If the guy is weighing your metal, moving it around in piles and not telling you what he is doing, it's because he is ripping you off. That way he can ring a good chunk of your copper up as tin. Hopefully the extra money he makes scamming customers makes him feel like it's worth it.
I don't like this place very much seems like they steal somehow I took a small load of scrap and took almost 3 times the scrap the following time and got a couple bucks more so I don't understand I wouldnt take much of anything here unless your getting ride of junk
You have to watch them like a hawk otherwise they'll rip you off. If you say something to them when you catch them cheating you, be ready to fight, because they will get in your face. They're the only recycling place in town so...
I got very surprisingly little money for 4 big bags of Aluminum. I’ve been doing this all my life, my dad did it when I was little, and unless the price of aluminum has gone way down, these people just fat fingered me because they thought I was some rich dumb millennial. Well guess what? You’re right. But I’m smart enough to $6 was a joke for what I gave you.
Must be a Bunch of millennials that work here. Never heard of a scrap yard closing at 4:30, same for the showroom. Even called them. Due to traffic was going to be a minute late. Guy on phone must not care about customers. Was rude and eager not to do business.
Dont go there, just down the street the give .10 cents more a pound..i wouldnt bring a soda can here..and they lied to me saying the reason there .20 cents a pound for aluminium is the price changed yesterday.. i checked when i got home and the price for aluminum scrap went up .02 cents...so trust me when i say to you ,dont go there go down the street they give you better $ in your pocket and they wont lie..
