I have a 2021 Subaru Forester. Brought it to Japanese Auto Care November 2025 because the air conditioner was blowing warm air. They replaced the O ring and filled it with Freon for a cost of $550. About 3 weeks later, the air conditioner was once again blowing warm air. Japanese Auto Care was closed for 2 weeks during holidays so I brought the car in on Jan 5. Now I am told it is the compressor. This cost me $1700. He tried to also charge for Freon but I told him it wasn't my fault that the compressor issue was not caught the first time and I shouldn't have to pay for more Freon. He agreed. Now 3 weeks later, air conditioner is blowing warm. I am NOT going back since I am out $2200 and they can't fix the problem. I am going to the dealer and having it fixed.
They are truly very honest. A very, very simple problem was solved with my car's brake lights, and they didn't charge for it. For that, they've gained a lifelong customer.
In a word—amazing! These are the sorts of people you should be going to, folks. I am so impressed at the level of professionalism and integrity of this shop. Jimmy was exceptional—honest, kind, timely, communicative. I had gone to another auto shop and given a pricey estimate to repair certain parts of my car. I went to Jimmy for a second opinion. Jimmy took a look and told me those repairs were not even necessary, saving me thousands of dollars. You don’t always find that degree of honesty at auto repair shops. I’m a convert and will start taking my car here for regular service.
This business has been around for years and today I finally took my Honda in for diagnosing a couple issues. I received great communication throughout the day and appreciated the thorough inspection on what my issues are from. I'll be a returning customer!

This is a very unreliable repair shop, extremely bad. They can barely perform basic repairs, yet their prices are exorbitant. There's no one to greet you, and you have to wait a long time.
Don’t agree that it is reputable every time I’ve taken my car in there. The final price was always more than what I was quoted. Make sure you get work quote in writing.
Great place to bring your car. I had a Check Engine light came on my car so called to check if they can take a look. I was told they can, brought my car, and after some time, they came back to say the issue needs to get fixed by the dealer, and car can be driven. They can reset the error if I wanted to, check if it will come back on, but I opted to leave it on. They will tell you upfront if it is something they can work, and not force anything. They earned my trust for my future visits (change oil, etc) and will definitely come back.
AS ALWAYS JIM HELPS EVERY ONE IN NEED , WE CAME TODAY WITH A BAD FLAT TIRE AND IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES WE WERE OUT. HAVE USED THIS SHOP FOR YEARS IN WEST BOCA RATON AND HAS NOT CHANGED JIM IS ALWAYS VERY HELPFUL AND VERY FRIENDLY WITH EVERY ONE WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND JAPANESE AUTO IN WEST BOCA.

I brought my car in for a second opinion after being told by a dealership that I needed new rear brakes at just 14,000 miles—despite the front brakes being in perfect condition. Misdiagnosed, the owner doesn't care about your comments regarding the issues of the car, takes your money and that's it. It was a mistake bringing the car here. I do not recommend! Never again! I am beyond disappointed! Starting with December 2024, I wasted $500 thanks to their incompetence!
Edit: besides that you did a subpar job in December, you are an incompetent and you are a LIAR too. I didn't let you change the evaporator or it was you saying that you don't provide that service and I should take it to a dealer??? How down can you be as a person? You have lots of guts to write such an answer!!!
In December 2024 you told me that everything is fine. NO LEAK. You didn't bother adding dye. You were too busy grabbing my money and going on vacation!
2 months later no freon. Again. When I told you in December that it smells bad when I start the car, you ignored me. It should have been the first red flag that the evaporator is down. You took $200 for adding freon knowing that it won't last. You are an incompetent, a misleading and a liar! SHAME ON YOU! NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW I FEEL! SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR TEAM!
I have a 2018 Hyundai Sonata that has received great service at this shop. Jimmy is very accommodating, very honest, and a pleasure to do business with! I highly recommend Japanese Auto Care!
Jimmy the owner and his mechanics team are absolutely wonderful. Always does fantastic work, gives fair prices and great customer communication on questions ,concerns,whatnot . They open early at 8am which is great too.
My Nissan Murano with over 100k miles was misfiring badly when I accelerated. I had been to other shops that could not figure it out. My last try before trading it in was to find a place specializing in Japanese cars, that is when I met Jimmy. He was kind, professional, and I knew after explaining the engine issue that he completely understood and knew exactly what to do. Really glad I ended up at Japanese Auto Care in West Boca now I can keep the Murano for another couple years all thanks to Jimmy!
What a gem! Just had our 2009 Toyota Prius repaired with them. Excellent job, excellent service, excellent value! I cold called and spoke to Jimmy last week, hoping he would have the answers to a complicated brake problem we were having with the car. Other area mechanics I inquired with did not want to do the job as it was "too complicated" or required "specialized tools, knowledge and programming". When I called Jimmy, he immediately knew what I was talking about and said he could repair it, had done it before without any issues. We dropped the car off on Thursday at closing time, Monday morning he called, he had the part and was almost done. Tuesday noontime and the car was ready (there is a weekend in there). We picked it up, the cost was below his quote and the job was well done. Upon pickup, I remembered that I had forgotten to ask him to change the oil while he had it. He right away said "give me a few" and then pulled the car right in the garage, changed the oil (and offered to rotate the tires while it was on the lift) and had that done too. When went to pay for the added oil change he said "it's on me...I should have asked" while I had it. I was speechless. Service way above my high expectations. We have a new mechanic! Jimmy and Japanese Auto Care. Highly, highly recommend.
My car had the engine light on and a few other messages. This team is amazing!! They were fast and replaced my alternator in one day! I HIGHLY recommend this place for any car! My husband has used them in the past as well.

Jimmy has been our go to shop since my father moved down to Boca. He works and has worked on every car in the family. There’s no one else I would trust even when I had cars under dealer warranty I would get his opinion. I hate writing this review because selfish reasons he is very busy, but it doesn’t matter what the lot may look like he will always get to you as soon as you can. He has one of the most respected mechanics I’ve ever dealt with in my life. He truly cares about every client and does whatever he can to get it done and if he can’t get it done that day, he’ll be honest, but he will get it done the next day.. from previous experiences
Highly recommend if you have European or Japanese or any car at that.. definitely bring it to jimmy you he will earn your business! Best mechanic I’ve ever dealt with, and I had several year exposure, being in luxury car sales client advisor for some of the world‘s most luxury of bands.
Over the years there is no one I would recommend over Jimmy my fear. He just will be busier than he already is which is not a problem because he truly does go above and beyond for everyone.
The owner, Jimmy, at Japanese Auto Care is a solid and very knowledgeable guy. After checking out my low mileage 2010 Kia Rio, which was driving in third gear, he referred me to AA One Transmission in Coral Springs/Lake Worth and said "These are good people." Having been to several other car repair shops and transmission places with no success, the only option it seemed was to purchase a new car. This referral to AA One was outstanding. Within a day, after an electrical diagnosis, a new Kia replacement computer board with a good warranty was installed saving me from purchasing a new car.
Jimmy and his crew did a great job on my wife’s Nissan when the A/C stopped cooling we dropped the car and few hours later they diagnosed the problem and Jimmy called me and told me that compressor failed and needed to be replaced and he give me a price and the car will be done by next day and it was, he was honest and they did GREAT job and I told him he will be our mechanic from now on. Highly recommend anyone to use Jimmy and his mechanics. Thank you Jimmy.
Jimmy took care of my car for years: oil change, bearings, tire rotations, coils change, and when he could not help me he recommended very good specialists. Now I am living in another Estate and hope to find my Jimmy around.

Called several mechanics, Jimmy and JAC were the only mechanic that got a quote ready for me... didn't even need a call back, he was ready. Always picked up phone, pleasant to speak with, and fair prices. Did my vehicles brakes and rotors and happy with the work. Will be a return customer.
They’re very honest, friendly, quick and thorough. This is the first place I have ever taken a car in for suspected problems and have not had to make repairs every single time. I feel like other places have taken advantage of my lack of car knowledge, but not Japanese Auto Care. They’ve been consistently great.
After having a horrible weekend because of another shops carelessness that could have costed me 1000s of dollars even possibly blowing my engine I went online and saw Japanese autocare reviews and I had my car towed here. Jimmy was so kind and helpful. He put me at ease and told me he will have my car fixed immediately. I would have fixed this problem a while ago if I knew it was so serious but because the other repair shop didn't mention it was very time sensitive I almost paid the consequences. I used Japanese Auto Care for the first time to do full maintenance on my car. They did a great job! Jimmy and his staff were great! Fair prices, great customer service, and most importantly, they don't try to take advantage of the customer (something you don't often see when it comes to cars). I will definitely continue using their services!
