Buddy’s Auto and Eddie Avalos are absolutely amazing. I was in a full panic when my brakes went out, and they went above and beyond to help us. They got us in right away, took incredible care of the situation, and made sure we were safe and back on the road. When they couldn’t get certain parts, they literally built part of what was needed—true craftsmanship and dedication. The service was phenomenal, the quality was top-notch, and the care they showed was unmatched. I cannot recommend Buddy’s Auto and Eddie Avalos highly enough. Truly incredible experience
I would NOT recommend Buddy’s for a VSSI(formerly known as a Brake and Light inspection). It was obvious from the moment I arrived that they would be selling me as many new parts as possible. They let me know later in the day that I had a pretty big repair bill coming in order to pass the inspection. I told them no and picked up my car without completing any of the repairs they insisted my car needed. They told me both taillights were out….they were not. They told me my rotors were below spec without telling me an actual measurement…..and they were not(I measured).
Long story short I left this shop and went to a different local shop with a good reputation. I left 30 minutes later with my car passing inspection with none of the “necessary” repairs other than replacing a single brake light bulb.
Update: Since the folks here insist on calling potential customers liars(which should be a pretty big red flag if you're thinking of doing business here) I'll go ahead and provide a few more details.
After being told my taillights and brake lights were not working he took me out to my vehicle. They were all working just fine with the exception of the 3rd brake light that I wasn't even aware was there. I hope he shows the surveillance video to prove this. He then tried to tell me I probably have a much larger electrical problem since they were now working. I spent a few dollars on a bulb at O'reilly's and took it to a different shop where it passed with no notes AND without bad vibes.

It is a great place to get your car service done. They make you feel real comfortable while you wait. They are very professional. They go out of their way to make sure everything is done correctly.
I took my car for a safety inspection required by the DMV. As result of the inspection, my car needed a new suspension, an alignment, and more. Eddie went over the list with me and explained to detail the work done. I feel confident that my old car is going to last a few more years. I recommend Buddys Auto Tires and More, Eddie will take an excellent care of you.
Buddy's - Garden Grove: Power Steering pump needed to be replaced. I was given an honest quote. The work was accomplished in 1 day. Eddie (shop manager/writer) was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating with my situation. I will have future work done at this shop & highly recommend them to anyone.
Needed a brake and light inspection for a salvage title from the DMV. Buddys was the only place I could find to do the inspection. All in all it was a relatively smooth experience. Eddie was knowledgeable and thorough explaining everything. Unfortunately I needed a new rack and pinion to pass the inspection. Everything was a little more expensive than I initially planned. But now the car’s steering seems more in tuned and stiffer and up to par. The work was done at a fair price, and was done surprisingly quick. Thanks Eddie
Spoke with the same person multiple times about an oil sensor problem on my vehicle. He mentioned each time the cost would be approx. $250.00. When the job was finished, I was told the cost the cost was $630.00 +. When I asked why the cost wasn’t approx $250.00 he said there was a $399.00 charge that was always a part of the price and the approx $250.00 was over and above the $399.00! Will not use this shop in the future!
Avoid going to Buddy's for a Brake and Light Inspection certification. I went there, and the representative, Eddie, made several unnecessary suggestions and didn’t include the inspection in the final price. They ended up charging me $2,600. When I went to another shop, they only charged the inspection fee of $200, and I received my certificates since my car was in excellent condition for both brakes and lights. If you want to be overcharged and treated poorly, then Buddy's is the place to go. Otherwise, choose any other shop for fair pricing. This place offers the worst service and pricing you'll ever encounter.
When I lived in California, this is where I always took my car for service. Buddy and Eddie are honest and upfront. If I was still there, I would still be gong to them.
So I came today to have them take a look because my front tire was pushed back when I drove thru a hole and the guy said he would charge me 150 PER HOUR to diagnose the issue. (This is a AAA repair approved facility) I asked because I was referred by AAA and he said the fees don’t change. So I went ahead and pay for it he called me 1 hour later he removed the tire and said I needed a whole suspension work; parts and all this would cost me 2000 (parts would be used as he is trying to keep it cheap for me) I felt something was off so I came next door to James auto collision center and the guy said he could’ve inspected and diagnosed the issue for 45 dollars and that they could do that same work for 1200 if needed. Do not go there. They will take advantage of you and treat you as if you have no clue about cars. Please get a a second opinion before or after coming across this place. Absolutely ridiculous
This over price the checking light an brake inspection dmv requires to update the licenses plates this shop charge 3000 $ when the price for this job is around 200$ dollars.
Wonderful service by Eddie and his tech guys. Very thorough with excellent quality and fantastic results. I am so happy to have found Eddie and his crew.
Buddys is now my go to for all auto needs. Why? Reasonable prices, courteous people, communicative, and most importantly HONEST. A good vehicle repair facility is gold.
I got some plastic punctured on to my tire and it looked like it made a hole onto my tire so I took my car to this location as it was the closest to me. I had Eddie take a look at the tire and right away he insisted I needed to order a new tire, instead of removing the tire and checking for leaks to me that was a red flag. I didn’t question it right away because my knowledge to this field is very minimal, I took some time to think as it was pricey, I asked if he could at least put my spare on so I could get home safely, but told me he had no time. Assuming because I didn’t give him my business. I then went to Tire Metro (Bridgestone) down the street from Buddy’s to get that service done turns out the tire was fine just needed some Air. This really shows that this area of business tries to take advantage of people who doesn’t know better thanks for the learning opportunity Dodged a bullet nice try Guys !
They do a thorough job working on my Corvette . Buddy -the owner - and Eddie are 2 cool dudes ! ...I recommend this super automotive repair garage !

I have been using Buddy's Auto for over 30 yrs. He has always been an amazingly helpful and more than fair. The work is excellent and I can always count on them. Price is always fair and my children now take their vehicles to Buddy's. I have referred many friends there as well.
My car stalled and AAA recommended this place and towed my car here. They were closed so I left my info with my keys in an envelope in the key drop slot. I called in the AM and was greeted by the owner Buddy and he was very personable and nice. When Eddie called back with estimate I was blown away..... He said he found a rebuilt alternator and a battery and was charging $890+. Glad I have mechanics in my family and know when someone is trying to take advantage of a woman. On top of that they charged me $110 to plug a diagnostics machine to my car. SMH!!!! Needless to say I towed it to another shop and got the same repairs done for $300 with a year warranty. Use at your own risk!
This place is amazing. They took my hopeless car that has been worked on for ever by people who are COMPLETELY clueless and figured out all the problems and has kept me in the loop the entire time. Also Buddy (owner) took the time to explain to me why things needed to be done. They have been super friendly and professional. When Buddy isn't there, I talked with the shop manager Eddy. He also is very polite and will answer any questions I have. There pricing is very reasonable and there work is top notch. I have recommended them to several people. I will always take my cars here from now on
he installed a new battery for me.. we talked golfing because he has golfing posters on the wall..he says he was good back in the day.. so far the battery has been good to me. no complaints
Just picked up my SUV that I had left there for 2 days. I had found Buddy's through a recommendation from the Costco website for servicing a Porsche.
After somewhat of a rocky start, a few phone calls, and troubleshooting fees adding up much faster than I was comfortable with, Eddie offered that I come and pick up the vehicle at no charge. They even supplied the codes and the issues that they came up with on a print-out and a courtesy inspection. They recommended a different Porsche specialist in the area.
I will definitely consider them in the future. And to me, this is part of the vetting / learning process. I do really appreciate the inspection at no charge to the customer. Thank you!
I always receive great service from Buddy’s. Anytime I get service here, I can rest assured that the work done will be of great quality and my vehicle is always taken care of. They’ve gone out of their way to help me out whenever I really needed it. I highly recommend Buddy’s.
85 bucks for a smog? Because it's a 95? Nope. Very arrogant saying he knew my car wouldn't pass. Said to bring it back to him for the repairs because he KNEW it wouldn't pass. Took it elsewhere, paid 50 bucks, and guess what? It passed. Think twice before visiting this place as they'll over charge without hesitation.
We've had Buddy take care of our cars since he worked at a Chevon station, about 40 years ago. The work is always excellent, price reasonable (considering the cost of auto repair!), and he never encourages us to get unneeded work done. I'm not sure what happened to those who had a bad experience, but I highly recommend Buddy's.
I'm not sure where others actually went. Buddy has been taking care of our family cars and trucks for almost 40 years. We've never had a complaint. The work has always been excellent and fairly priced. Buddy explains things and doesn't pressure you to have work done that you can't afford. He's fair, knowledgeable, personable, professional and friendly. If he doesn't have an answer, he'll find one for you. I wouldn't take my vehicles to anyone but Buddy. He stands behind his work
The man at the front desk, Eddie, had my daughter (who just recently turned 18 and looks very young) sign a $100 service fee just to look at my car without verbally telling her about this fee. She was shocked to hear about the charge, that was just for an estimate, the next day. On top of swindling my young daughter out of $100, he quoted the car $6,000 to get the entire car fixed. He said that it was a great idea and tried to convince her that it was a great idea too, even though the car is only worth around $5000. These people are NOT looking out for your best interest and will overcharge you. The last thing he said to me was that 'he has kids to feed too'. Never had such a bad experience in my life. Unless you had money is blow, do not come to this shop.
