RIP OFF! I have been going here for months and they used to give me a good price. The last 2 - 3 times I have been here, they totally ripped me off. Won't be back!! Some of the grocery stores now take back at full CRV. Will be checking that out or another one.
Giving 3 stars because I was only allowed to recycle 4 items because the rest I brought was "trash" but their sign showed they recycled those items. The would not take cleaned aluminum cat food cans at all only " water bottles and soda cans". Staff also spoke little to no English which made it difficult to communicate and understand what I could and could not recycle.
This place intends to close early all because they don't want to do their Job, here's a picture I took at 430pm... They suppose to close at 5pm and today was a slow day obviously... They had everything put away already before 430 telling Me they close... This happens many times... Sometimes employees try to give me an off the wall price for my recyclables like $5 when it's an easy $10 worth... What they going to do, recycle it themselves and keep the difference... I hope they talk to their employees about closing early too many times... Some people come from different cities etc. To turn in recyclables, waiting gas to arrive and have them tell us they closed, when they suppose to be opened... So nit cool, some of us are their cause we need the funds at that moment and it won't do no.good the next day... FOR THE OWNER-- You'd make 10x more if you have a sign telling customers to crush their cans and plastics so your unit won't fill up so fast it make your service more efficient instead of customers a lot of times waiting to use some trashcans cause people aren't considerate about others... Yeah it makes you look kool I guess, but people like me have the same amount of cans that people have using 5 bins when it can all fit into one
DO NOT GO HERE: I completely got taken advantage of, I feel stupid and obviously angry. I brought many pounds of cans only, and the person gave me the much lower rate per pound of plastic. It’s on the receipt, clearly he gave me the wrong amount. He knew it was for cans. I wasn’t watching the scale and very likely he shorted me on that too. He hurried me along, I should have realized, but I didn’t.
So (who knows how expensive) lesson learned - always watch the scale, write down the number yourself, check the receipt before signing it, make sure they are giving you the right amount per pound and the right number of pounds.
I really enjoyed going to Ponce recycling because they are quick and they help you do your recyclable to help you separate them they are awesome I will continue going there as long as I can thank you have a good day
This recycling center is a hidden jewel 💎 and when I arrived I was helped immediately and they were professional and nice. I recommend and will return!
They were very helpful and I so appreciated the location in an open parking lot. Also make sure you leave your bottle caps on otherwise you'll lose them through the holes on the bins.
I weighed my recycling on an accurate to 100 lb postal scale at home before I came to this recycling center. It read 18 lbs. At Ponce Recycling, the attendant quickly weighed my cans while I was still gathering up my bottles. When given my receipt, it said that I had only 12 lbs. When I protested, the attendant pretended not to understand English and pointed to the total paid. I guess he pocketed $10 of my money and who knows how many more customers he ripped off! Don't do your bulk recycling here, better yet, bring your 50 bottles or cans and insist that he pays you $.05 or $.10 each as they are required to do by CA law. They hate that but they have no choice, they have to pay you for each one!
Very convenient location. However, I found that there were discrepancies between the scale weight and the weight I was being paid for. I had to challenge multiple times to ensure I was paid fairly.
Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.
